    I never noticed until now that Egon subtly displays four fingers to Venkman before the latter tells the manager that it's going to cost $4,000 for the entrapment.

    Not counting the ghost in Ray's dream, since it was just a dream, there was not a single on screen ghost during the entire sequence. Yet, with a single prop holding some dry ice in it, this movie was able to give the feeling that they've been going for a long time, gaining tons of experience and becoming famous. That's intelligent film making.

    • @evilmark443
      @evilmark443 Před 2 lety +41

      Based on the novelization I think Ray's dream was originally planned to be an actual event, in the novel it's part of a job Ray and Winston are doing while Venkman and Egon are dealing with the possession of Dana and Tully. While looking for the ghost Ray gets side tracked and decides to try on a revolutionary war uniform, lays down, then encounters the ghost in the same way he does in the dream from the movie. Winston hears voices coming from the room and walks towards the door, but Ray convinces him that he's fine and not to open it.

      Montages are one of those versatile film making techniques that we dont do as often anymore in favor of visual flare, but theyre amazing for what they are. With very little, you imply weeks to months of action of these three dudes having business catching ghosts, gaining fame and experience, moves the story forward to its next logical stage, and it saves a LOT on budget. All you need is a few shots here and there, maybe a couple celeb cameos, and some of your cheaper VFX.

      Zack Boone, Sort of; they are still a private company that charges for their services, but they do work with the city for damage repairs. If they were public servants, they would be city employees and their services would be free. Calling them public servants is technically false. That would be like if police departments charged you money for arresting the man who assaulted you, or fire departments charging you for extinguishing fires. Hospitals are private businesses, that's why they charge money for treatment

    Anyone else recall where they were the day we lost Harold Ramis? I’ll never forget it-the day started out great for hubby and I; however, by early that afternoon, things had gotten bad, and were still that way when we got home. As hubby was carrying on out in the kitchen about what had upset him, I came back here to the bedroom, and hopped on Twitter, only to be greeted with the news that Harold was gone. That day up to that point is burned into my brain...rest easy, Spengs-we love and miss ya. See ya on the other side.

      No... I know I was heartbroken though... I remember a lot... I was alone while my family was on vacation when Paul died... I was visiting my partner for the holidays when Carrie died... I was driving to work when I heard about Robin... I was just sitting at my computer checking the news the moment we heard about all heard about Chester.
      Leonard, I was legitimately sitting at home just thinking about things... and I wasn't sad... I miss him, but... he set alight millions of candles in the wake of his one.
