- If you are beginner in acrylic pouring, here is all you need to know to do a CUP BOTTOM reverse flower dip is in this step by step tutorial video.
I have to say, that probably I shouldn't have spin it, because lacing with floetrol mixture is different than with my pouring medium, but I just wanted to see, what will happen. If you are interested, I can do another one with floetrol mixture and Liquitex gloss medium mixture, to see the difference.
Pouring medium: Floetrol
Ratio: 1 part paint, 2 parts Floetrol, 1 part water
TECHNIQUE: Reverse flower dip with paper napkin, Cup bottom pour
PROCESS:
- Pour your base on canvas
- Put your FLOWER SHAPED DESSERT CUP on the canvas with bottom up
- Pour paints on the bottom and use PEARL WHITE or some metallic paints between each colour to create petal - lacing effect
- Take off the cup
- Use SKEWER to draw some petal shapes
- Gently put PAPER NAPKIN or towel on canvas ( You can use dry or damped napkin)
- Lift one corner at the time and then gently lift it (the middle last)
- Torch it for air bubbles and to activate pearl white and metallic paints
- And here is your flower :)
MATERIAL I USED:
- 8x8 inch canvas
- Acrylic paints mixed with pouring medium
- Flower shaped desert cup
- Paper napkin or towel
- Wooden skewer
- Palete knife
- Torch
COLOURS I USED:
- Amsterdam oxide black
- Amsterdam titanium white
- Arties colours naples yellow deep
- Arties colours alizarian violet
- Arties colours cerulean blue
- Vallejo Pearl medium

Beautiful Fiona! 😻 You are the flower Queen Artist of the twentieth century 🏆
Absolutely beautiful. Stunning color combination. 💕 💕♥️💕♥️💕
It’s beautiful. The lacing is gorgeous.
OMG it's so beautiful Fiona!!! Thank you for your talent your my inspiration!!!
Thanks so much for sharing your experiments with us. We all learn. The color combination on the flower is gorgeous. Great cells and lacing.
Thank you for experimenting with Owatrol! I'm not sure of the ingredients in it, but it looks like it doesn't have binders in it to hold the shape.. it just keeps spreading. Maybe add some of the Liquitex Gloss Medium to it and see if there's a better result? I love that alizarian crimson color, wow! 🤩😍🥰
Alizarin crimson was one of Bob Ross’ favorites too!
I use flotrol all the time .I do not add water .Fio a no matter what you are the top of the flower makers. Love the dips you do .🥰🤩🤩📹🛎💐
WOW 😁😁oh Fiona it's absolutely beautiful. I love this flower.💖💖💖💖
Turned out beautiful the colours and lacing are gorgeous
It's so great to see how you mix your paint with floetrol. Your reverse flower dip is just gorgeous Fiona!
The result is brilliant, Fiona. I think that the napkin you used should be gently pulled apart and used to make something equally spectacular! I cannot remember who said that "Perfection is in the imperfection" but it definitely applies to this video.
I'm just amazed. Fiona I have to comment again. It's really so gorgeous. I love it. I know you say your not sure of it..but please know it's amazing. It has such detail. I've got to learn how to do this. You inspire me. 💖
I think it came out absolutely gorgeous. 😊💕👍🖼🎨
Fabulous colours! Gorgeous Fiona xxx
It is still such a gorgeous flower Fiona! I love those colours together too! I wish Australian Floetrol was as thick as that one, then I wouldn't need to use so much and save money. Your Floetrol seemed to just plop out in comparison! 😄 Big hugs beautiful Fiona. 😃💜🐨🙋♀️🥰🤗
It's beautiful Fiona, I love the colours . x
I think it's absolutely gorgeous
I love it. That violet is so pretty.
Beautifully done! I love your flowers!

Fiona I luv your flowers so beautiful luv the lacing 😊❤️💕💜✌🏼
Thank you for using the owatrol, I’ve actually been trying it out as well! Strain it through a stocking, add a wee bit liquitex gloss/Matt varnish, let it sit overnight.. 💚☮️🏴
Wow!! Amazing results!!!
Oh my gosh!!! It’s just beautiful I really love it😀😀😀😀😀!!!!
I love the center of this flower!
Wow. It is so beautiful. The center is cool and the lacing is gorgeous. Thank you Fiona.💝☮️🎶
Fiona, this turned out beautiful!! I could see the difference in the paint as you were pouring it on the cup. Also, how it flowed. But, when you lifted the napkin... WOW!! Beautiful lacing, beautiful cells. Love it!!
Wow is right, that is absolutely gorgeous, love it.❤️🇨🇦
Very like a tile. Fascinating.
Oh yes please do experiment some with floetrol! 🙂 This one did turnout lovely 💖💖💖👏👏👏
Amazing I LOVE it! Everytime you say you lift wrong it is always perfect! I wish my bad lifts turn out like yours! [Or any lifts turn out like your "bad" ones!]
I love this painting. You were just not used to seeing so many cells. But I think it’s gorgeous!
Fiona the flowers turned out beautiful. I was also surprised with all the cells that showed up. This was a good and informative tutorial. Thank you for explaining how to mix for base paint and the other paints. Thank you my dear.
I love 💕 this painting!
Beautiful ❣️. I love the color combination!
I think I can see the oil too. Strange. Wow, it's really pretty. Love the colors, as always.
Well, that was interesting, Fiona. I love the colors. It's not ugly! I really kind of like it. It's very different. The center is beautiful!! 😍 Even with the all of the little cells. You did get a lot of weird freckles everywhere else, tho. I thought the violet lacing in the yellow was interesting. Like red veins or something 🤔. I am anxious to see how this dries.
Hugs!! 🌻🌹🌻
I love the colors and the effects ❣️😍
Fiona it’s really pretty such vibrant beautiful colors! You should be proud of yourself for creating a gorgeous painting. I love it! ♥️

I love this painting! The flowtrol does make the paint flow differently though. These colors are fabulous!
Beautiful as always! I can't get it right but I keep trying! 😊
Beautiful Fiona! I never liked Floetral but I'm trying to explore it more now also so this video is awesome, thanks so much! 💕
That color combo is spectacular. It is pretty! Not as neat as your pouring medium, but still really nice.
This is beautiful! Your work is amazing 💕
Fiona, this is gorgeous ‼️❤️👍
Oh, it's Gorgeous ♥️
Beautiful 💙💕💛
Gorgeous!
Thank you so much for doing this! I no longer think I am crazy and did an amazing flower finally
I forgot to say I love the colours you used - this really pops! xx
Honey, it’s worth pouring floetrol through a tea strainer or small sieve prior to mixing. Helps to reduce tiny lumpy bits!
Different and interesting effects
Love the colors
American Floetrol step by step woulda been cool. Never had this thick Floetrol
Beautiful!!
It's beautiful tfs
Very Pretty
Beautiful!
Dont be so hard! It might be different but still its beautiful!! 😊 🌺🌸🌼🌟✨
Its different, but I like it very much!
I love it!
Wszystko co robisz to jest cudowne💚👍
Lovely 🌺
It perfect, really!
I really like that and the effects are so unique. Lovely, really!
I like it very much
Beautiful
gorgeous
I have the exact issues. Weird, uneven pour, lines and no cells on cup. Is not me- is floetrol! I would have liked to see if your second round on top of first would have pushed the first aside. Mine does. Time to switch medium!!! Thank you for the insight! Beautiful, as always!! 💙
Love it😊
Buy Bryan’s strainer cap. Spontaneous creations by Bryan is on Etsy. They fit the floetrol bottle and are excellent. Strains out all the boogers lo. I love my painting it came yesterday. This is beautiful as well
Different, but very pretty.
What kind of napkin do you use? This flower is beautiful
It’s gorgeous... I use American Floetrol & it’s similar. Not near as thick though.
I do love the effects you got with this one!!!! I wonder if there is some sort of oil in Owatrol? Great experimenting today and very indepth tutorial on mixing. Maybe now I might get thinner consistency with mine. I never seem to add enough water.
It very pretty! I love those colors, plus you got some pretty effects from the floetrol. That floetrol surely seemed thicker than what we get in the US.
I was going to say the same Vonelle! So much thicker than my Australian Floetrol too! 😲🙋♀️
@@suekleinschmidt5949 I love your Australian floetrol. It’s a shame it’s so expensive here in the US. Otherwise, it would sure be my “go to” floetrol!
@@vonellevanzant237 Can you tell me if American Floetrol is thicker or thinner than the Aussie one please Vonelle? I've always wondered when trying to follow so many of my favourite U.S. Utubers when they mix up their paints. Stay well and happy! 😃🥰
@@suekleinschmidt5949 it’s a bit thicker. We have to use a tad more water that you would to get the paint to consistency.
@@vonellevanzant237 Thanks so much! 👍
Do you know how to swipe a painting if not just buy one lol 😂 thanks again Ricky 💃🏼🕺🏼🎸🐈⬛🐈👌
The flower is fantastic! Is that Australian Owatrol? There is a U.S. version also, but I'm not sure if it has the same ingredients.
I think Owatrol is German?
@@melissaphillis7247 There are probably other countries doing it, but the one most popular is the Australian one. I'm in the U.S. and we have our own also. But it's not the same.
I've never used that kind of floetrol before and mine doesn't have a oil like substance. Maybe your's will be better 😄
Good morning Fiona! I don't have Vallejo pearl medium. Is there something else I could use? I love your channel. I have learned so much from you.
This painting is stunning!! But I know the Floetrol mixture is uncomfortable for you to work with. I had to give up Shelee Blooms, not because I couldn't do it, but because I couldn't stand the texture of the house paint. There are so many different techniques to use that it is not necessary to do the one that's uncomfortable, just because we can. Part of your glorious mojo in your artwork is that you are comfortable and happy with all aspects of what you are doing. But I guess you don't know if you don't experiment. You are a spectacular lady and I am awed by everything you do and are.
Thank you. Totally agree... I just don't feel the paint, if I mix it with floetrol 😳
