Epic work on this video dude, I’m an NZ local and would only say one thing on this.. Where you’re planning that dream shot is an illegal place to fly here.. 😩 I would be super careful posting that up online if you do still go for the shot, DOC can be strict on popular places (Like Cathedral Cove) and have been known to push charges. I don’t want to be a scare mongerer, just don’t want anything negative to come out of this for ya. Hit me up if you have any Qs ✌️
Hey, I'm not fully sure here because I'm roughly new to drone related stuff. but on the two map websites I use to see where I'm allowed to fly, I checked the Cathedral Cove area and its saying its just an altitude limit.
In Australia it's illegal to fly FPV unless you have either a permit, or a membership with a club that has permission to fly FPV. So unless he has a permit or a membership with a club that has permission to fly FPV, he is flying illegally here in Australia

man the algorithm really hates your long form videos
you need to be carefull when diving the avata 1 cause it has problems with high speed diving
I am going to New Zealand at a very similar time to you and I am wondering what locations you will be going to fly. I don’t have an avata but I do have an 8 inch long range drone for mountain surfing 🤷♂️
i recommend putting an nd filter on the drone camera, you get a much better shot
I want to take my Avata 2 mountain surfing it looks really fun, and it's probably less risky than the rips I've been doing in my backyard this last month.
