    One thing I've noticed with most tiny homes is they never consider how the heck you're supposed to change the sheets on the bed. I know it can be done, but what a gigantic hassle to have to crawl around stuffing sheets into the corners of the room. Nope.

    i would rather add storage units instad of sofas upon entrance as it will make movement much easier and unites will be more elevated and floor will have enough space so it will not look cluttered. other than that the whole house look great 4 bedrooms two bath rooms with small hall just great.

      @Godhelpus62 Před 2 lety +5

      Agreed. I thought cabinetry with a desk area, storage drawers and coat closet would be most practical in a house this size. You can never have enough storage in a tiny house. Storage for cleaning supplies, vacuum, broom, etc. And with 3 bedrooms, there will be several people - at least 3 or as many as 6, so they’ll need storage. You could also make one of the bedrooms into an office with lots more storage if you have fewer people. Overall a lovely design with all the basic needs - a real living room and good sized kitchen. Beautiful.

    Upstairs bedrooms would be firetraps due to the lack of proper sized windows - hence no way to escape if a fire breaks out downstairs. But else it is very nicely designed. I would propably use the area beside the staircase as an office instead of a sofa.

    Agree with many of the afore mentioned comments. At first glance it looks lovely but the opportunity for more light has been missed in so many places. There's no window or skylight in the bedroom 3. There's only a tiny window in bedroom 1 & 2. There are dead spaces that could invite more light, that haven't. The kitchen island has a wall that closes off the space instead of opening it up. There isn't a basin in the only bathroom in the house and that isn't to mention where you'd be expected to do your laundry. I'd say this is beautiful but one of the most impractical tiny houses I've ever seen. Whoever designed this has never considered just how small spaces need more light or that every opportunity for storage or use is needed to make it a comfortable home to live in.

    I would move the stairs along the outer wall since there are no windows there anyway. Remove the first floor bedroom and wall and make it a proper "living room". Remove the sofas from kitchen area and make it a proper dining / eat in kitchen. Expand the front 2nd floor bedroom once the stairs are moved to the outer wall. It would be a better 2 bedroom home.

    At first glance this is a very attractive design. With closer attention it quickly becomes apparent that (for 3 bedrooms) it is just too small. The main structure needs to be at least 2 meters wider. The kitchen needs a complete reconfiguration for practical use. The bedrooms should never require that you climb over your partner to get to the far side of the bed. Finally, I guess you have to wash your hands in the toilet because there are no vanity/sinks in the bath. With a little more thought this could be a winner.

    • @Skysenshi
      @Skysenshi Před 2 lety +1

      I was thinking the same thing, like...are you going to wash your hands in the kitchen lavatory after using the toliet? Yikes. Probably 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor tops (because I actually see 4 bedrooms here), and one of them should be the master's bedroom. Hallway should also be clear, because you'll end up bumping into things. I like the aesthetics, though.

      It breaks the first rule of tiny, which is OPEN. Instead of open, the front door opens to a claustrophobic hallway with a couch stuck in it. Sorry, but IMO that’s a dealbreaker; no need to watch further!

    • @crystalpoindex
      @crystalpoindex Před 2 lety +4

      Yes very cute design but it does have some functional design flaws. The toilet is a quick fix if you can acquire a Japanese style commode with the sink on the back of it. It's efficient but I can see guests struggling with the design not to mention the constant clean up from the walls and floor. The bedrooms are indeed TIGHT. Making me very claustrophobic without functional windows. I need to be able to breathe and escape my surroundings. This does not seemed to be a optimal design for a winter climate either. It could see myself slipping on the wood in the winter months in the morning. After a ice advisory.

    • @althelas
      @althelas Před 2 lety +2

      Also there is no room in the kitchen/living room area for more than two people to sit and eat comfortable. No sink in the bathroom is probably against a lot of regulations as is the small staitcase. I like houses with a small footprint, but this one would work better as an only 1 or maybe 2 bedroom house. 40sqm is a tiny footprint and even the doors look like they are not wide enough to walk through. I did a little bit of math, the house is 5m wide a staircase is approx 1m wide, otherwise you have no chance to bring any furniture upstair, the bedroom is 2 meters wide, that leaves a hallway of 2 meters wide, with the couch there (for whatever purpose) that leaves you with a hallway of approx 1m maybe 1,2 meter. I'm not claustrophobic, but that is way too small. The concept is good, but not for that many bedrooms. Can you imaginge 4 people living in this house? I can't, it would be a nightmare.

    With a few adjustments this house would be perfect!! 1. I would shorten the shower in bathroom and make room for a sink. (or however it needed to be done!) 2. I would do as someone else suggested and make a pantry in the kitchen, closing off that first kitchen entry if necessary. 3. If there aren't any cabinets in the bottom of the area across from stove I would put some there. They didn't show that area so I assume there is nothing there. 4. I would have one big bedroom upstairs and a full size bathroom instead of two bedrooms. 5. I would have the door on the left (at top of stairs) lead into a big walk-in storage closet. Not really that much changed, and would make it perfect for me. Nice house!

    The house is very lovely to look at from the front. The decorating overall is as well. Not quite as convenient a layout as I'd prefer. Still ... great effort.
    In certain climates, I would be concerned about a roof sloping toward pr being flat in front of that fixed horizontal window overlooking it.
    Would want most, if not all, the windows to be able to open. Liking lots of natural light ... perhaps add skylights for added light instead of the window overlooking the roof.
    Like that some of the art is a "view" as if a window.
    Any tiny house would be better served with Murphy beds. The new kind with seating or office built in when up would make sense.
    Creating cabinet/closet space as a wall rather than needing furniture -- and thus saving/using that 4" otherwise used as interior wall could be worth considering.
    Stairs should end in a way to minimize space taken up by hall space upstairs.
    Unless that sofa in the entry is intended for sleeping, that space might could be better used than for a sofa facing a storage wall beneath the stairs. Might have considered a "side" porch and put the entry on what is the side.
    Prefer a sink to have a window over it and at least 18" of countertop on each side... save the base for storage rather than a dishwasher.

    Remove the hall couch, put in built in low storage. Put sliding glass doors by dr to open up space more with an outdoor deck for sitting and entertaining.

    Very nice modeling job & video! As asked by others, I'm wondering what software you used.
    I'm guessing this is for a location in SE Asia... Indonesia? Then it makes sense there is no heating or cooling system in the house, as well as no sink in the bathroom. I understand that there is no window in the upstairs bedroom on the right, as those walls are probably intended to be up against other houses, in spite of the spacious mountain location in the video.
    It was a bit funny to me that, even though there was a kitchen, the inhabitants were eating take-out food! : )
    Also, for others asking what it would cost to build... it totally depends on where you build it.
    Again, great job on your modeling! Very realistic renders.

      Why does no bathroom sink make sense in Indonesia? Don't they wash their hands after using the toileting?

    • @toddhoatson5758
      @toddhoatson5758 Před 2 lety

      @@ejb7969, they often put the sink outside the bathroom. In this model, I presume the designer intended the kitchen sink to serve double-duty, but that would be unusual in Indonesia.

      @@toddhoatson5758 Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification. I'd definitely want at least a second sink that's not where I prepare food.

    In every powder room, sink is a must! Also the sofa at rhe entrance...hmm you could use that for something else.

    I also agree with the afore mentioned comments about dead space and light source for the bedrooms. It's a shame that there couldn't be some space set aside on the upper floor for a small powder room as well (just a stool & small sink). Who wants to have to go downstairs in the middle of the night especially if you're a guest to the one bathroom in the house that's right next to the master bedroom?
