Khabib return would be bigger than Conor's based solely off the fact that people dont believe in Conor like they used to with his recent losses. He's been beaten enough times to where beating him is damn near meaningless other than the payday, which is sure to run dry quickly at this rate also. If Oliveira beats Islam in the same fashion he's been finishing everyone else most people would readily believe he could handle Khabib and that captivates the imagination as to whether or not he could take Khabib's 0, that speculation sells. The thought of having Khabib and Charles as TUF coaches will make the head of any MMA fan split open. Although as good as it sounds this would be unfair because when it’s said and done if they are to fight for the vacated Lightweight title it’s completely ignoring Islam and everything he worked for. If they could make it happen with Khabib and Charles as coaches but have Charles vs Islam as the ‘coaches’ fight that would be good but it’s a bit of a grey area. As much as I’d want Islam to be a coach I just feel Khabib would fit the role better and although Khabib is arguably the greatest lightweight fighter of all time it’s unfair to throw him directly into a title fight over his own team mate. I would give anything to see a prime Khabib vs a prime Charles but it’s hard to say whether Khabib still got it cause we havnt seen him fight in over 2 years.

I don't think Olivera is close to the equivalent of what pacquiao was boxing. Pacman is one of the all time greats only 8 division champion some argue the best pound for pound boxers of all time. Olivera is great don't get me wrong but he's nowhere near that level of greatness

I don’t think it’s fair on how Dariush is left out of all conversations, especially considering he is HIGHER ranked than Islam and also on a win streak. I think it should play out that both Islam and Dariush fight then the winner of those two gets to fight Olivera in December for the title plain and simple. Conor fights Chandler at 170 and Justin and Dustin run it back.

Dariush has his time to shine to fight his first big fight and wrestled and held a Tony on a losing streak. Personally I think he’s much better than most think and he’s a champ threat but people aren’t going to dig into his history when his eye catcher fight was a snooze fest
I’m with you on the first part. Conor should fight whichever belt holder he feels like he has the best chance of beating. Chandler should fight Olivera next. Dustin should fight Colby at 170 and Justin should rethink his fight style
Since the RDA fight Khabib has handily been the favourite largely down to his dominant wrestling style and good chin fighting strikers. Remember Khabib said he would come back for a 40 year old GSP that has basically been retired for about 9 years and has had abdominal surgery. Let’s not pretend that Khabib is hard wired to honour his mothers wish for him to stay retired. He left the sport with a 13-0 record, undefeated. Once he beat all the strikers he was heavily favoured to beat he realised that the next step would be to fight the up and coming grapplers that wouldn’t be terrified of his takedowns. Or of course moving up to 170 where he wouldn’t be able to use his weight advantage. Khabib won’t come back to fight anyone that isn’t a striker, why would he risk the very real chance that his wrestling suddenly looks just average to decent. His fan base and the media have given him the aura of being a godly unbeatable fighter. Reality is that Oliveira has exposed his 2 best wins in less time and in a way more impressive manor.

I always loved Chael's old school mentality of fighting whoever whenever and being tough. So I cant agree with him when he says a fighter should pick the easiest fight. Like I can why one would choose that route for the most money but what happened to challenging yourself?
You're in the sport to make money and give your family a good life. Not necessarily to challenge yourself. And if challenging is anything to go by, Charles has done that and has more than earned a good money fight.
