...man. I really wanted to see Cloud carry Aerith out into that lake and put her to rest. I loved that part of the original.
Since this part is heavily focusing on clouds delusions, I think think we gonna see what really happened in part 3 including him carrying her to the water or his last words about her not being able the laugh and get angry etc. They save that for last
it'll be in part 3, cause at this point cloud can't cope with her loss he is blocking it out
@@niksoluUh, it ain't a delusion if Red_XIII also feels her touch. This games based on magic, spiritual stuff Force ghosts. If it's a delusion here, its a delusion when he sees Sephiroth, it's a delusion when at the end of Advent Children she plays with a group of kids and leaves. Cloud sees her. It's also a delusion that Kadaj reunites with Jenova, turning again into Sephiroth.
Make of it what you will, but the fact that Jenova turns into Sephiroth, or that the lifestream exists, and mako ghosts do, shows that people believe in certain types of delusions, and chuck other types of delusions away. This whole game is ridiculous and delusional at its most, and you're saying Cloud is delusional? This is irony at its finest.
@@eigelgregossweisse9563yeah aerith at the very end is real. But cloud in his mind thinks she's still alive.
@@eigelgregossweisse9563 thats the same thing i was thinking i think this game has some tie to the movie
THEORY:
11:53 - He is saying his lines from 2:40. They are muted, the scene scrambled between him talking and him saying nothing, because Cloud's mind, thanks to Sephiroth and Jenova's tampering, is blocking out what actually happened.
We WILL be seeing a runback of this scene in the final game. It will be added to the lifestream sequence of Cloud getting his mind put back together. Tifa will restore his memory of what he said to Sephiroth when Aerith died, and we will also see Cloud burying Aerith in the river.
I dunno, dude. You're putting a lot of faith into this junky remake.
@@Akanintnot junky at all. So unappreciative of the amount of love effort and care that the development team put into these games, they are incredible. Have faith
I have two theories now seeing this video yes he is saying that to him and we don’t hear the conversation cause later Cloud says he’s up north and Barrett says how do you know that he says soldiers intuition but subconscious remembers the conversation and my second theory is cloud killed Aerith cause in the original his friends stop him but here his friends are being held up outside and Jenova is messing with his head pretending to be Aerith but I don’t think the latter but I don’t know wth is up with Sephiroth and Aerith
How do you know this is confirmed?
I agree with this theory. I think they cut out the portion of her being laid to rest in the lake because cloud is so in denial, but they are clearly at that point when they are all looking at the lake.
I just realized that Tifa didn’t speak for the rest of the game after this, yet I felt her reaction the most.😢😭

The original was simple and in its' simplicity, it was beautiful.
The remake tries too hard and puts too much in it. And in it, it creates noise and chaos that isn't beautiful.
They should have been faithful instead of trying to one-up the original.
Poor Tifa she is always suffering the most and no one in the party acknowledges that, only Aerith knows and still she goes and checks on Cloud.
Tifa cant see aerith, that’s why she didn’t really say anything to tifa because tifa can’t see her. Only cloud can, probably because of the lifestream? Aerith always checks up on cloud because he’s mind is damaged and out of everyone in the crew cloud would not be mentally ok if he realized that aerith died. I still don’t like the way they did her death. They made her death confusing and complicated for no reason

First of all Aerith loves Cloud. second of all , Cloud literally broked, he thinks she is not dead, he cant accept her death, he will go crazy if he will realize he will no longer can see her. Watch Advent Children, who is suffering because of her death, and who wants him to forget Aerith and accept her death forever?
I have no idea how it must feel if you've never played the original first and then you watch this.
Likely worse. She's more of a character in this one. Developed beyond her archetype.
And, if you've never played the original? The sheer weight they give the moment couldn't scream "Maybe THIS time you'll make it right" any harder. Those silly wraiths finally *work* , and it's brutal.

it’s confusing, beat the game today without ever playing the original, wasnt even hurt or sad, just hella confused after she kept coming back to life 😭
My gf watched me play remake and I thought it was a 10/10 but she kept asking me questions because she doesn't know OG. That made me change my mind. She watched me play rebirth as well but this time I kind of explained most of the og the differences as we went along so it's not a complete "no idea" viewing. But I think it's a good point tho. I think the remakes storywise must be really bad for someone that never played the og.
@@Pyre Worse because you've been robbed of a true experience. This reboot/sequel trilogy heavily relies on the fact that the player has consumed all media of FF7. The OG game, Crisis Core, Advent Children, etc. Without that knowledge people are just going to be confused. The whole point of the story changes for this trilogy is to surprise the fans who have played the original. The writer literally says so in the interview they have on Square's channel.
To this point, Aerith could matches characters like Krilin, Kung Lao, Lancer, Inmortal and Kenny; for be killed several times.
they're great supporting characters welp they will destined to die but we will see the changes in part 3, Don't be confused about Sephirots wanting to combine the OG and Remake timeline in one with CC timeline also that's why Part 3 will be a big ending.

If you're asking why they didn't use Phoenix Down to Aerith, it's because they forgot to turn off the HARDCORE MODE (permanent death). It was too late for them to switch the difficulty. Even if they used Phoenix Down, she's permanently dead already.
I believe phoenix down just wakes people up from being unconscious not brings them back to life.
Phoenix down is for being knocked out not killed. Lol.
Phoenix Down wakes up people who are knocked out. That's why when a teammate loses all their health, the text says like "Tifa is UNCONSCIOUS" not "dead"

U don’t die when u lose bro ur characters are literally on their knees so phoenix downs just gives them the strength to get back up. People need to know pheonix downs don’t bring people back from the dead if that was true why doesn’t tifa use one on her father 5 years ago.
I'm sure rebirth death scene was exactly one from OG. Cloud is shown saying something and though we don't hear what I bet it's his line "Aerith won't laugh again". OG Aerith who was hiding between worlds from OG Sephiroth ("so here's where you've been hiding") definitely planned something by dragging Cloud to her place and exposing herself like that. I don't think Cloud is hallucinating, he just sees two timelines at time, and probably they tricking Sephiroth into thinking he's winning or something. Anyway, it's not as simple as it looks like, we just wait and see.
Sounds great for a remake, right ?
@@jenpachi2408 I wouldn't prefer it any different no matter how much it hurts🥲
I think you’re right. Aerith was talking to him but only Cloud could see it at the time, making him look crazy. Sephiroth was saying that the timelines were coming together, and that’s what he means. We’re getting there, we’re just not there yet. Aerith knew it all along and is trying to tell Cloud that it will all be okay.
so aerith is alive?????@@rockmegently
@rockmegently I believe Sephiroth merging worlds once all physical Aerith are dead and her spirit is locked in between so she won't get to use Lifestfeam. so that's why Cloud and Aerith need to trick him. and their comatose versions in Zack's timeline are probably "empty vessels" so to say, in case they fail (since Aerith can manipulate worlds as well as Sephiroth she can drag herself and Cloud into there as a safe measure).
Notice how both Whispers are pushing him away. She's both or neither a fate worse than death or a blessing in disguise?
2:19, Sephiroth just casually t-posing on Cloud.
As Aerith casually bleeding out in the side
Jenova actually
I think both Cloud and Aerith are now in a timeline limbo. The only reason why Aerith is still around and only Cloud can see her is because she's waiting for Cloud to "find himself". Once he's in that state, both Cloud and Aerith can wake up in the other timeline.
Or it all just in Cloud lehead.

The original is so much better in my opinion one feels written by a writer who suffered from loss like many of us have or will do. A lot of fans overlook this as Aerith's death but it's so much more than that it's a thesis on loss and cloud's words portray that better than any character that comes before him. There's no big NOOOOOOO or cheesy fuck you one liners cloud is in honest shock and for the first time gripping with the reality of loss of someone close to you. Sure many had died at this point but none were as close to a loved one to Cloud, the beauty in the writing as Cloud like a Shakesphere play orchestrates to us what loss is, She'll never laugh, love, or cry again and now what will they do, as they are left to move forward only to suffer so much pain and for what? It captures how loss is just such an unfair factor of life and that we as humans crave an answer to balance the scales but in truth no scale is balanced when family or our loved ones die, they are just gone and we are left with emptyness. But then what elevates the scene to pure art is we get a scene after the boss fight of them being forced to have one last goodbye a ritual that is very common when someone close dies. Everyone says their last goodbyes with a few emotes leaving it vague but those who've been in a funeral can fill in the blanks then probably one of Cloud's biggest development of character is he picks her up and takes responsibility to make sure she get's her last wish, he returns her to the planet in the same water's her mother's materia fell into and honestly I can't imagine she'd want nothing more.
The original is more than Aerith died it's an art piece on loss and moving forward it's why so many games after have tried and failed to replicate this kind of emotion in a death, and only few have succeeded since then. Because they fail to see this isn't just the death of a character this is a thesis on loss.
It's what the remake lacks, the remake is a great video game but it suffers from trying to give fans what they want but also is written by someone who takes a more anime approach to writing, basically flashy big fights in every corner no time to sink in the difference between taking a nice walk (the original) and taking a plane and crashing it to the finish line. Don't get me wrong I love anime and I love modern jrpgs as video games as much as old ones but the new one lacks the same emotional pull cause it focuses just on the "action" Aerith dies maybe. Rather than what the original scene's message was.
Giving Nomura complete creative control was always going to result in an inferior story. The dude is a hack. He likes to write superfluously complex stories just for the sake of it, to flex how great of a writer he is. Kingdom hearts is a perfect example of that. Modern square cannot replicate the success of the OG series 1-10, and they never will because all the people with actual talent are gone from that company. It's sad, but it is what it is I suppose. Now instead of writing a compelling and moving story that they hope will reach peoples hearts, they are remaking a story because it is easy money.
@@nickp8041Nomura said that they should keep things close to the original as they could and he isn't involved into the story decisions of Remake.
The blame goes to Nojima and Kitase, of course, Nomura's influence certainly is all over it but it wasn't the guy himself doing so.
With that said, you're right about how Square Enix's writting went afther FF10, most of the actual talented people lost their abillity to write stories or left.
Modern SE writting is just Kingdom Hearts but with different levels of edgyness or pretentiousness depending on the game, and in cases they completely butcher the product so they can milk it more like FF XV.

I understand a lot of the criticism at the ending... it is more convoluted than it needs to be, however, I think it makes sense that it is. The last death Cloud faced caused him to create an entire warped reality for himself to live in because he couldn't handle it, especially with mako poisoning. Now, faced with another death while having his mind manipulated by Jenova, it makes sense for Cloud to do something similar and I think that's what we're seeing in the ending
10:49 100%, that scene is OG FF7. It’s at this moment that the timelines crash into one another. Remake Cloud is experiencing the events of the OG here. While also experiencing the event where he successfully blocks Sephiroth
@@cicopath no. I don’t think so. Sephiroth has been waiting for this moment because it is at that point in the story of OG FF7 and Rebirth where extreme emotions take over and he is able to use that against Cloud. Notice how from Tifa’s POV, Aerith is dead.
I like to think this symbolizes the moment where Aerith is essentially taken from this timeline and goes to another. We see later on that the fight with Sephiroth, when she steps out of the portal, is actually Aerith from the OG game. She tells Cloud “I saw what you did for me, Cloud. Thank You” Referencing the fact that she saw a timeline as well where Cloud blocks Sephiroth. The evidence here is Sephiroth’s own words: “Well well, I seem to have underestimated you” and “So this is where you’ve been hiding”
Also, notice how her Materia is White again. But in Rebirth, her materia was empty as it was revealed during Costa Del Sol
@@cicopathand also, one last thing. Notice how, right before the distortion when you can see Aerith still alive and praying, the floor is colorful. When it transitions to what looks to be OG FF7, the floor is not colorful anymore. And when the shot transitions so that we see Aerith dying, it’s once again colorful. I think the colors here are key. It seems that Rebirth Aerith and OG Aerith essentially swapped places here.
@@cicopath exactly. I think that’s what happened. The moment Sephiroth kills her in the OG Timeline, Aerith does a last second action that allows her to essentially swap bodies with another Aerith in a different timeline at the same exact point of time (while praying for Holy). @@raulsouza5866 but real loss is just that loss. Sometimes sudden and extremely tragic. No possibility to say goodbye, no talking with that person and making sure they're alright. Yes. It's like Square Enix really was trying to please both sides of the fandom. The ones that wanted the original death scene, but also the "alternate universe" where she is also dead but might-not-be-since there-are-other-realities ending. I would just like a straight answer, but we will have to wait 3 or 4 more years for it.
I’m so disappointed by what they did in Rebirth. I wanted to cry like in the original but I was just confused ! And when I realized what truly happened, it was « too late » to cry. Aerith died and I felt … nothing. How could they miss this moment ? There are many moments in Rebirth which made me cry but the saddest of them was completely missed…
I cried more when Jesse died
I think it’s to reflect what cloud is feeling. If you’re thinking about it, Cloud is still seeing Aerith and even in the end, he still think she’s not dead and is not traumatized that much. On the opposite, everyone else is cleary in grief so in my opinion, the scene in rebirth is maybe to makes us feel « like » cloud.

So let me get this straight:
Aerith gets stabbed by Sephiroth. That much, I was expecting. But the fact that she LIVED long enough to reassure Cloud threw me off, but it makes sense because in reality, a stab like that wouldn’t be an instant death. Then you get to fight Sephiroth ALONGSIDE Aerith, albeit in spirit form?! That’s what confused me.
maybe it’s aerith from another timeline, not a spirit form. tho this ending was so confusing that i can’t be sure of anything 😵💫
Aerith In Spirit and Alternate Timeline Aerith are each viable possibilities. I think it's also possible that both are technically true if it turns out this is actually a very complex time loop instead of the Back to the Future scenario Sephiroth thinks it is. However, I am leaning toward this Aerith being the one that traveled with this Cloud because the final boss involves all the playable characters in Rebirth coming together to defeat Bizarro Sephiroth.
Two reality was overlapping with Aerith, one death one alive.

Ok I get the outrage from fans in regards to Aerith’s death scene, I’m ticked at how we were baited and she ended up dying anyway. I think people are just pissed that things were hyping up with the probable chance of saving her. I’m okay with how things went after some time has passed, we still got a DLC story update and the third game to tie it all together. Listen we all asked for the remake ever since PS3, we’re getting it now and we should all wait until the third game to really determine if it was all worth it. I’m amped to see what they got planned
Actually I would've preferred if she dies again. What I'm angry about is how they turn Aerith into this ghost only Cloud can see. Like dude, if you want to kill her just kill her. If you want her to be around for Cloud then let her live. I hate this half and half state she's in
What do you mean dlc story update???
I was okay with her dying. I just think how the death scene was delivered to us via Rebirth was a huge dissapointment. It was unclear, confusing which took away from the emotions imo. I didn't want her to live perse, I wanted to relive those emotions again in HD. But the death scene itself lacked impact. There was no dropping her in the water scene, there was no actualy stabbing?
It was still an amazing game. Just bummed out by the end. But lets see what it still brings.
@@matthiassneyers2627 actually I'm on the camp for Aerith surviving since it would be an exciting new story. But even then I still like her dying more than this "maybe" bullshit
@@straypaper "confluence of realities" as sephiroth stated means the merging of said realities, as I'd call the in-between. It was implied that it was one way for Aerith to hide from Sephiroth, as we do not know the repercussions of her living and what means he'd use to finish her off. (I'm not sure what story significance her dying has anyway other than adding a "driving force" that wouldn't have changed Cloud and Co's goals regardless of her state).
There is 1 thing that’s 99999% worth celebrating about in Rebirth.
Unless they drop the ball massively in Part 3, everything seems to point that Cloud should be able to handle the “loss” of Aerith a lot better.
In FF7 OG this was a hole in the heart, which is fine because of the themes of the game.
But then on the compilation, we see that years later on Advent Children the tragedy still hurts him.
Now on Rebirth, it’s clear Cloud is on some mighty but technically accurate COPIUM. But between all the madness of Chapter 14, the idea of multiverse gives rise to the possibility that Aerith might come back by using the body from another dimension like the one that’s sleeping on 1 dimension.
Anyways. To end this essay. FF7 OG created an iconic moment of loss. FF7 rebirth created an action moment that confused many who don’t pay attention to the story, which isn’t to hard to see considering the liberties they are taking on “final chapters”.
One error that people point out in the OG Aerith’s death was that the floor was black and white checkered initially, before it switched to a single colour.
But if you look at the bottom at 1:43, the checkered pattern is still there. It’s just that the light coming from the water reflection is too strong and covered the floor patterns

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I guess it's because his mind was a bit messed up then. Normally, no one would react like that in such moment, but he went through some mind-collapsing stuff, so I guess that's why he acts in such a way.
I think he said that because he made a timeline where aerith didn't die, there's no reason to be mentally broken. Somethings definitely goin on here but we're just gonna have to wait and see what it is
he thinks he saved her and that she's okay. he's the only party member who hasn't processed her death at all and he's the only one who's able to still see her and communicate with her somehow so ofc he's not gonna be mourning because he thinks she's alive. i think part of it has to do with his mind being messed up and him possibly being in denial of her death but it might also have to do with the whole timeline stuff. i think once cloud stopped sephiroth's blade in that scene he managed to save her in another timeline. the whole timeline stuff is still pretty confusing but i think basically she died in this timeline but is alive in another timeline, something along those lines.
At first I thought it was like Joel's emotional "yep" to Ellie in their last conversation but then I saw Cloud was smiling after replying to Barret and not crying instead and thought oh no, honey. You poor sweet thing. 😭

yeah and they had to give them super unfitting overly dramatic music... you're supposed to save the dramatic choirs for things like Safer Sephiroth, not random silly ghosties that you kill loads of and basically make the plot idiotic.
I really, REALLY don't see this ending in a satisfying way, this whole mess of what if timelines feels like it's just gonna fall off the rails at the end, no matter what explanation they give it's not going to be satisfactory. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it to end nice and neat, but at this point I don't even feel any kind of purpose or direction behind this story other than the lingering sense of "wtf?".
Aerith being a ghost only Cloud can see reminds me a lot about Ardbert Hylfyst being a shade that only the Warrior of Light can see and interact with.
The old version hit harder, but may it be the developer’s intention in the first place to make Aerith inevitable death less painful?
13:11 the confusion in Tifa's face as she saw Aerith's two different incapacitated state. I wonder if she's now also got affected by the Lifestream when Cloud throws her into the green water.
I honestly found it weird why from Tifa’s point of view there’s still so much abrupt switching between scenes as if it were still Cloud’s POV
I dont think thats Tifa’s POV. I think Cloud sees and hears Aerith talking to him but everyone else sees her already dead and with the blood. Cloud doesnt.
@@ISoundMasterBlasterI if you play every one starts the battle whit limits on except Cloud,
Every one is angry for Aeriths Dead, but Cloud can't see, in he POV he thinks he save her
I THINK. 😅
I don't think Tifa was seeing her alive. I think that part was showing what Cloud was seeing (the split realities) and what everyone else was seeing (her dead) at the same time. if it were from tifa's pov, she would've been able to see the tear in the sky when cloud said to not look up at the end.
sice kalm there is a few key moments that indicates that rebirth tifa seems to know baout the OG timeline. probably due to the timeline converging. much like how marlene has dreams about sephiroth appearing to kill aerith in the alternate timelines
Square Enix ruined one of the most iconic scenes in gaming with confusing multiverse/timeline shenanigans. Thanks, Nojima. And also to our good old pal Nomura for laying the groundwork.
The original plot is better. I don't like how this new version adding confusing twist like alternate timelines and stuffs. It just took away the powerful emotions the original had. Also I feel the production team added way too much fan services for the player (personally I feel they tried too hard to make the girls characters to be loveable, like leveling up their cuteness way too much that it feels unnatural. Sometimes I feel Aerith and Tifa act more like an idol than regular girls) and extra characters that I think don't serve much purpose (like the motorcycle guy, Roche who I think only there to be a "cool" villain type of character).
Well you know IT'S JAPAN
17:32 Holy shit! He's doing the same pose as Riku from KH games.
i swear the writers of the new one got lost in their own insanity time stream issues. sorta just misses the key points imo
I use quite a lot of Final Fantasy tracks when i run D&D with my friends so ima need these tunes at my earliest convenience
FF Remake - "We killed Fate, now events can be different."
FF Rebirth, retroactively killing Aerith immediately after saving her - "Oh, that was because of 'Timelines converging'."
Me, peeling back the sticker that says "Timelines converging" and finding another sticker underneath that says "Fate" - "hmm..."
Me, peeling back the sticker that says "Fate" and finding "Things the author decides should happen here, regardless of anything they've established before or after" engraved on the surface - "There it is!"
as far as I'm concerned the original scene is 100 steps above in terms of direction and it's a shame that you didn't put the reactions of all the characters in the party but only Tifa and Barret, for me the best are those of Tifa and Yuffie (the worst he's the one who sits because he's being an idiot) and then I love the dialogue between Sephiroth and Cloud, it perfectly represents the message this story wants to give you.
that of the rebirth left me with nothing, indeed only bewilderment and confusion at how badly it was managed
100% agreed. What makes the OG really punch you in the gut is Cloud's answer to Sephiroth's hard logic.
No matter how sad and graphically impressive that close-up of Cloud's crying face looks, it's nowhere near as emotive as the players knowing how he is processing the loss. His words convey what her death means in a tragically simple, almost childish way that just pulls at your heartstrings:
"Aerith is gone. Aerith will no longer talk, laugh or cry... (...) What are WE supposed to do?"
I'm not saying word by word quote would have worked in this scene, but having him stay completely silent is a bit jarring. There were other important omissions like the musicless section that gave the original an incredible sense of eeriness, and Cloud letting her body go in the pool which brings an odd sense of closure.
@@takkun3237 It makes me laugh enough because they made the whole scene look like shit, ruining it with a vomiting amount of fanservice bordering on the ridiculous with the addition of kh bullshit... if you think about it, in the remake they put the phantom of kh1 (without the arms) and he is practically a secret boss and in rebirh they always put the phantom but in the final mix it is in fact white.
then the funny thing is that Dyne's death is done very well... maybe because there isn't that kh bullshit.
this rebith is perfect until you put the kh component, the nomura compilation thing since they put glenn and it was avoidable (in itself he's a shitty character with a characterization equal to a toothbrush, thank goodness they didn't put the others two...I don't even remember their names) and zack for the pure sake of doing badly done fanservice.
if you remove them the remake is perfect.
I never felt so hypted up fighting jenova in rebirth, the way they cut to that so quickly, being an action game, that was such a moment of connection. Bravo, SE!
What I get is that the Cloud that parried Sephiroth's attempted stab is a new timeline that was opened up where Aerith was saved, and that's the Aerith that Cloud keeps seeing.
The way this is portrayed may seem to be different from OGFF7, but they actually closely parallel to one another and make complete sense, whether you think that’s the case or otherwise. Cloud’s mind is long gone here and he is not able to tell what is real and an illusion. In fact, he has always been able to see Aerith after her death, even in Advent Children until he forgives himself and finds his resolve is he finally able to move on. I can guarantee you we will be seeing Aerith as a force ghost in part 3, which evidently, the same thing happens in the original game at the end.
a force ghost? "let the hate flow thru you."

I find it incredible that the original manages to convey a much more meaningful message by saying considerably less. Rebirth plays like a convoluted anime main arc that never quite gets the message across.
As someone who played both OG and Rebirth, I can't lie that Rebirth's direction on how they handled this scene left me with baggages of confused and somewhat disappointed feelings. It's bizarre, considering when i first played OG, i was unfazed when Aerith was killed. Little me thought "just give her a pheonix down, what do you mean she died?" I didn't really care that much about her character. But playing both remake and rebirth, experiencing meeting Aerith again for the first time, the rooftop hopping moment, and all other moments with Aerith really helped flesh out her character and gave players great moments to build that bond with her. The buildup up until "the" scene, gave me anxiety and I was prepared to cry my eyes out as I anticipated her demise. But once it came, I was left confused and blueballed. It barely allowed time to sink in the moment and grieve, and immediately went to a rush of fighting boss after boss. It was bittersweet, and not the way I wished for it to be. Regardless, Remake and Rebirth are phenomenal games for bringing immense joy to this gamer. I just wish the director of Rebirth gave players more time in the cutscene to feel the sorrow and impact of the loss of Aerith instead of adding all the confusing moments with cloud and Sephiroth.
For me it is more than certain, the Sepiros that we see is already one that supplanted the original, apart from the false Sepiros of course, only this is an original Sepiros but it comes from a line where he already lived all this and that is why he always knows that do and looks like he knows what's next. In fact it is likely that there are 3 Sepiros, the fake one, the real one and the real one that comes from a future line (Advent Children? Maybe.)
The original, despite its poor graphics, was and is one of the most shocking, devastating, and irreversible moments in video game history (or cinema or all of literature, for that matter)
The remake is (good?) graphics. And nothing else.
Trust me, guys - I WANT to love these remakes. But there is some serious hype Kool-Aid being drunk here that is blinding 95% of the opinions I’m seeing….
Except they aren't actually remakes, they're sequels disguised as remakes.
The jumping animation in the OG is too cute tho.
Knew that is was still coming, still balled my eyes out
I remember the fight scene after the death, and being in so much emotional pain, i took it all out on this fight scene!
Well, so much for me staying away from spoilers 🙃
Both scenes are incredible... masterpiece
They know how to hurt you. Was tearing up while fighting Jenova.

Such a shame. Lost all its impact and just confused the fuck out of most people.
so there is no scene where cloud putting aerrith to the water?
If they decided to add confusing multi universe, might as well given us chance to save her. Its just making so fking confusing
They had to go so over the top with every single thing in the remake lol
Well, when it's a sequel disguised as a remake, that tends to be the case.
Since OG FF7 and FF7AC I've always thought Cloud suffered from hallucinations, but was able to function. I still think he does, but now I think some things he sees are real, wich makes interesting to figure it out
Did anyone realize Cid was humming the ending credits song to Final Fantasy VIII while they’re working on his ship at 26:00 minutes in this video?!?!
Thats the main theme of all Final Fantasy
They they screwed almost every core important scene in the remake and rebirth thanks for pointing it out
original feel more melancholic, even aetith's keep playing on battle
i don't get what's happening at this point. is she alive or was she dead from the beginning? also what's the connection with zack?
Yeah i likes the original sequence better. It made more sense. Plus you can sense clouds anguish better.
I did however did enjoy the little skirmish with sephiroth. But i feel thats probably more for disc 4 final battle.
Classic all the way, just hearing that track alone is a flood of non-cinematic extra shit goodness.
Plus no dumb spotlight grabbing eardrum-bursting VA.
Scene has no weight at all in the remake.
the og so much better, rebirth is confusing, too unecessary extended

Whole game has been ruined for me by CZcams, was so excited about this game since 2020
Sadly I'm almost certain I won't play the rebirth game so I'm happy I got to view my childhood in some way thru here even this sad scene 😢
They took too many liberties with rebirth. Changed too much for me to want to keep playing the next part.
Can’t wait to see omnislash in this game I wonder if u will still be able to do the lucky 7 attack too
I'm just holding onto the hope that we see Aerith's original death scene in the third game/Reunion, when Cloud finally realizes the truth. The only two times I can see it happen (if they try to remain close to the original) is before the North Crater or at Mideel... but I'm still confused about the Black Materia.
Sepheroth just t poses for a solid minute after
square now has to put timelines in everything?
One of the best remakes ever omg lol can’t wait till part 3
And now to wait another 3 years ahhhhhhhhhh
16:17 Sephiroth really miss Sora with that line 😅
Wow, how can a straight and clean animation of sephirot falling, sword in back, aerith death became SO garbage in this new one?
All those fucking ghosts they invented which are annoying since always, Cloud parrying the Sephiroth sword and tossing it aside.. some darkness then light, then out of nowhere Sephiroth grabs sword with blood? SE should sue who wrote this, really.
No tossing dead body in water later, and ghost sticking togheter after death lessens the death by a lot.
1:18 "FOR SPACE KING! RAHHHHHHHHHHH!" "the HOLY GOBLUES!!!"
To actually hear Sephiroth speak to Cloud after killing her, shows he is an antagonist. Adding to the situation by mocking him in that tone.
from those I watched the ending, I assumed that Aerith is still alive in another one timeline. this ending shows us the same as in the OG except dialouge they speeched. Moreover, the scene Aerith lied down and only Cloud see it is actually have no blood around her body. So I assumed she no wound from Sephiroth action. Aerith who still alive is walking through all timeline she acknowledged and went to help Cloud fight with Sephiroth in another dimension. She also tried so hard to find a solution that she will never died in the timeline that she still alive. the one that Cloud talk to, is Aerith in the timeline I refered and no other acknowledge her except Cloud. I still think she will going to walkthrough the timeline to help Cloud and her friends find the exact way to get rid of Sephiroth with less effect with the universe Sephiroth tried to destroy. but this is just my imagination. So let me cook. 😆😆 lets see what they are going to end with this story.
I like that they hadn't dropped what they're doing with fate and time. Most who receive even a hit of the backlash always fold and abandon the course next chance they get.
This makes the original still relevant.
I'm excited to see where they're going with this! Although, I'm concerned. At this rate, we might have 4 parts. lol
I feel we'll see all the real conversation between Sephi and Cloud when Aerith deads in the Northern Cave cause Cloud will know the truth, Part 3 gonna hurts from the beggining🥲
I’m not a huge fan of the way they decided to portray her death this time around. The imagery and contrast between what was real or not was too all over the place. But I love that we get to still see her. I wonder if rebirth with take inspiration from “maiden that travels the planet”, where we will still keep seeing her throughout the story helping the party in spirit even though she is gone.
Nomura must pay for what he done to the plot of ff7
Da fuck did he do? He's not the writer.
@@Aaron64589 he is the fucking diretor
He was the one who was holding back the multiverse bullshit
I don't even know how the managed to screw this up so badly, I was ready for them to just save her becasue happy endings and stuff, and I wanted them to just stay the same as the original with Cloud learing he just can't save her and getting the development he has in OG.
Yet they managed to pull up more Kingdom Hearts bullshit, like, they just wanted to be unpredictable or something, basically ruining the entire moment and spitting on Aerith's death for nothing.
Screw you Square Enix
The fans of the classic game are playing with our feelings, giving us hope that in this version Aerith will survive.
Dunno, but I am starting to think Cloud does not really realized that Aerith is gone. This ending might look confusing now, but later on with the final chapter surely things will start to make more sense, I suppose
The original said so much with so little. The feels are still there, but nowhere to be found in the remake.
The original hits harder
I'm sure that the Remake will shown this exact situation on the 3rd installment.
I think many of us are confused , but I think many of us overlook things .
Sepiroth telling cloud not to cry it’s wasted tears is a hint that he’s seen this too many times because he successfully kills her in other timelines .
I think the promised land is a timeline where all of them end up back in and where they stop meteor. Aerith is trying to handle that and cloud is responsible for stopping sepiroth from bleeding into other timelines and stopping her . My random thoughts .
Plus I think this cloud is being messed with because he has the black materia
