Durian Review 6 - Black thorn (Team 99 Taste Review)

This review was shot in 2019 during the start of the durian season.
A good Black Thorn (D200) is rare because there aren't many black thorn trees in Malaysia. And the more established trees are located in Penang which is a good 12 hours away from Singapore.

黑刺要老树超过25年的才好吃，年轻树龄的还不够好。它不会太甜，清甜，不苦，不会非常绵密，味道也不会太浓烈。若掉落时间不久的话，会有麻痹味（老树的), 有after taste的味道。

black gold is grown on hill side..the trees are healthier cos water drain faster..musang king tree's root (actually most durian trees are) are quite sensitive to water retention on the land they are planted on. So the reasoning is that..healthier roots..healthier tree ..fruits taste better...black gold taste is like musang king..just that the smell is stronger and more bitter than normal musang king..and the seeds are smaller but flesh is bigger.

Hi all durian lover ! Dont ever buy durian form this shop ! The seller was so racist and disrespected to their clients who alway support them . To me , no matter how good quality of ur product we also will not come back again to get bad service. And for sure, Geylang now selling cheaper , nicer , creamer and most important they are very friendly , also will not make u regret of what u have pay for !
