Powerless eFoil Wake Thieving a Ferry?! - RAW RUN - Fliteboard Ultra - Skydio 2+ - Drone - Perth WA

Last year Fliteboard updated to their companion app and added gamification / leaderboards and GPS telemetry stats detailing unpowered riding, wave counts and more…
Flite also finished their AU Tour in Perth last weekend with Dylan, Sue and Eric catching up with the local Fliteschools and owners demoing all the shiny Series 3 gear
I don’t often foil in the Swan River, but I had this idea to intercept the daily morning Rottnest Express ferry as it departs the city and try and ‘wake thieve’ under the Narrows Bridge unpowered
It was a perfect excuse to test out Flite’s new super efficient Cruiser Jet 1500 wing combined with the 300 stabiliser
Here’s my raw run of my attempt where I managed to snag a 1.2km / 207sec ‘wave’ with the telemetry data from the session overlayed
Could have definitely gone longer if I wasn’t so concerned about the drone making it back to shore and that pesky seaplane distracting me haha!

Just experimenting, pretty much always 2 on the stab -1 on the front wing and I exclusively ride flow 900/245 - this video I just borrowed that wing to wake thieve

Great video! Which flight mode did you use? last skydio+ firmware? the flight under the bridge was absolute crazy.

always fixed angle tracking over water - yes latest firmware, and yeah that bridge was kinda sketchy, but I'd done it before so pretty confident haha!

I was out in 2-3' soft waves yesterday with the 1500 - 245 tail makes for a more fun combo if there's enough energy. Thanks for another inspiring video, must give it a try out on SF bay.

of course... smaller diameter fuse + folding prop = less drag, HM carbon mast = more stiffness, -4kg board = less swing weight
