To say this video is disingenuous would be putting it mildly at best. Nigerians have a bad reputation not for no good reason. Yes, I am a proud African who loves Africa in all its hues and shapes but I am not buying what this video is peddling. Nigerians do not have this negative reputation only in South Africa but the world over. Have you asked yourself, why? The fact that you can present a few professional and hardworking Nigerians does not negate the fact that the generalization is likely based in truth. For every single honest/hardworking Nigerian I can easily present a dozen dishonest criminal types. Of course it is wrong to generalize but in some cases it is prudent to do so, and this happens to be the case here. I am talking from personal experience and have resolved not to deal with Nigerians if I can help it. I wish that was not the case but you live and learn. If Nigerians are such 'go-getters' and 'enterprising' then why is Nigeria such a mess? So enterprising that they cannot sort out that electricity supply that seems to be a problem? Is it 'envy' or 'jealous' when business transactions are conducted in a dishonest manner? It's not envy when you are pissed because you were scammed or that the terms of a transaction were unscrupulous etc. A more balanced video should have included interviews with SA citizens asking them why they hold Nigerians in such poor regard. I can assure you there will be no shortage of horror stories, and I happen to have two of my own. Nigerians are well represented in the illicit drug trade than any other nationality in SA by far. That vaunted enterprising spirit that everyone is proud of seems to be flourishing in this arena as well and we are calling it as we see it. I love my African brothers and sisters but I am not stupid. I choose to exercise extreme caution when dealing with my Naija brethren, and will not apologize for that stance. I hope for a better relationship in future.

Yes, I am a proud African who loves Africa in all its hues and shapes but I am not buying what this video is peddling. That vaunted enterprising spirit that everyone is proud of seems to be flourishing in this arena as well and we are calling it as we see it.
