I remember this bike and Leonard, he's an original for sure. There was a guy named Kevin who also rode it pretty hard and bent the shit outta the rear rack when he took off with a theft chain attached...
dang todd,im smiling ear to ear seeing this first time, grandma died last week, moms gotta sell house, mom and dad even have 5 rentalhouses but im gonna be homeless and no job lol love my parents but they squeeze a penny lol theres a friend iv known selling parts to in holland,he knows a fellow who has one that delivered mail on a holland island for 50 years, wish i could send u pic,its got oil cans hanging on side and exact color of this fellows
That bike looks my grandfather's neighbors in Los Altos California. My grandfather also had a whole garage full of Indian and triumph ,HD. Along with others. He sold his house on Linden Avenue. And moved to Sebastopol. California. And I think one of my goofy uncles ended up getting all the bikes when he passed away
superbe 26 ORIGINAL paint !!! I love the thing on front fender !! first time I see that on bike ... Is it a winds "speedo" do you have more info on this part Todd ? Thx Vince
I like that motor it be cool if sns redid that motor no one redoes motors older then the flat head that I know of its cool seeing the push rods working
they are really cool watching them run. I seriously doubt S&S will remake this motor though. Not enough interest in the 1920's stuff and not enough parts to put motor's into if they were made. Only the 1928 and 29 JD's had front brakes and the rear brakes did not work very well. These motor's do not fit into Knuckle, Pan or even VL frames.
HuntingHarleys Is that how you do it? Wouldn't that mean that there's a limited number of parts to go around? They must go for a pretty penny. I suppose a skilled craftsman could rebuild just about anything but still, not an easy task by any means.
Dude you have the coolest friends , 80% of the bikers I know are sunny day chrome polishers , last week I had a friend go home because there was too much " mist " in the air , first I've heard that one , my wife has multiple sclerosis & she's more of a hard core rider than most men I know with bike collections , she rides the fuck outta her Fatboy & her little Buell blast , I'll hear a bike start up & she's gone without saying shit to me lol .
+Michael Ledford she sounds like a wonderful woman. you should join the AMCA. You'll meet all kinds of people who have and enjoy old bikes. Just go to their meets. www.antiquemotorcycle.org/
HuntingHarleys Thank you , she is an awesome gal , for 40 yrs she's rode with me , kept all our bikes cleaned up , never jumped off into that whole feminazi shit & been happy to be a girl , thanks for the link , I will read up on it , there aren't many bikers around me who ride their pans & knuckles like I do , there all for show so it'd be nice to meet other folks who actually ride their bikes .
Your wife has MS and still rides??? Wow she is lucky to be able to do that my father had MS and so does my sister i know what that does to a person. Their balance goes to shit after a while!!!
Baja5b nut case yes it does,2016 was the last yr my wife will ever ride one of her own bikes ,she rode her little Buell blast and had a help of a time with depth perception, she parked her fat boy for good and had to ride with me now,she only rides on the back for my feelings because I can see it's very little fun for her after riding her own bikes for 40 yrs . She just started taking the last IV medicine they can offer to MS patients to slow the nerve damage,it takes 4 hours to administer and makes her sick for 48 hours afterwards,I pray the meds give her back her life .
We call them whirleygigs. What they were called new is unknown to me at this time. Back in the 20s - 50s, decorative fender trim was considered ultra cool
+mitchell brenner possible, I'm sure it had personal meaning. I've known the owner (he has sold the machine since the video) and the bike since the 1980's. Always the leg, never an explanation
I would love to own a bike like that. I would restore it and make it my daily summer leisure driver. A 1917 Buick for my daily car for going to the city. For parts and hard wear. And buy/restore my gramps old model aa truck for my farm chores hunting/fishing. And haul. My uncle owns it.
I really hope whoever buys this DOESN'T restore it. That thing is perfect the way it is.
Connor Waits Not sure who owns it now, it has been sold and resold
Wow what an incredible piece
Love the handlebars on this bike! I think they are both cool looking and comfortable
That little 'fidget spinner' on the front fender is COOL!
if you watch the whole video, at the end he is commenting he took off in 3rd, not 1st.
I need a whirlygig and a prosthetic leg for my 09 ultra! thanks for sharing that fine old JD with us dreamers!
Oh wow very cool!!! Town and Country exhaust! I need one for my ironhead! Always loved that idea.
Fantastic, it's great these are still out on the road.
What an amazing machine!!!! 😎
Very nice bike, windmeter is brilliant :)
Thats some fancy freeking jewelry right there!
its a work of art my friend

What a dream bike!! fantastic!
Amazing.....history.....thanks for posting...

That bike starts up better than my dads 70s shovel pan hahaha
Awesome! Love it!
simply beautiful in its own unique way. you deserve way more sinscribers (sic)

Awesome!!!
Amazing
Holy shit this runs better than some of the newer harleys!
And new Hondas
That bike must have cost a leg but it's a beauty. Ride it at least once per week, though, to keep it going.
that bike is badass
we have always called them "whirlygig's". What they were called new I do not know. Era after market accessory.
Harley made a damn fine motorcycle in the 20'S 😃
.
She's a beauty
Seems more reliable than a current day Harley.
Nice!
very cool!!!!!

Whats with the leg? Did he sell you that bike or will he?
That is too cool!!!!!!!!
It's quite a beauty but I wonder, where does one find parts for something like that? Oh, and, what's with the foot?
easy, join the Antique Motorcycle Club of America

Great time, not the peg leg, the ride. The peg leg adds to the story though.
I can buy if I want it
it is available to me if I want it.
thats cool
Looked like the wasn't fully in first when he was stalling it
I find it odd there's a leg there did he sell bike with the leg
Whats with the weather vane on the front fender ?
an extremely rare front fender accessory from the era
What’s the thing spinning on the front fender??
We call them whirleygigs. What they were called new is unknown to me at this time. Back in the 20s - 50s, decorative fender trim was considered ultra cool
What is the gadget spinning on the front fender ?
A fender ornament called a whirlygig
Any history on the Whirlygig ?
20s 30s Harley accessory
The Fake Leg Nice Touch👍
Is that the original foot brake?
Yes
What's that thing on the front fender spinning for
Today, most people call them whirelygigs. Their specific name when new is unknown to me
@@HuntingHarleys so what are they for to shine on coming light to be seen like reflectors
@@tyco5176 decoration, the 20's through early 70's saw people add custom dress up kits to their machines. Today, we have the big wheel bagger trend.
