- First fly in 20 days!!!! We are back and boy did they love to get out once again! Mia loved flocking with @shelbythemacaw and @chico_themacaw and Mikey, well from those screams he seemed pretty happy too to get those wings flapping once again! Left music out of this one so you can hear the chaos đ

The amazing life they get to have â€
Nice
Hi! I am training my Blue and gold macaw but we are at the very beginning so you have any videos training for free flight or do have any suggestions because I donât want her to leave and not comeback đ
Same here, I would appreciate good advice, cheers
From what I know, you're never really guaranteed they'll come back unless you use a flight harness.
And look out for hawks and other raptors
To free flight train a bird takes time and patience, anywhere between 3-6 months for a flighted bird. Itâs a lot of desensitisation, positive reinforcement, a bunch of recall training, a great diet etc. Basically around 20 hours worth of knowledge. There are professional free flight trainers and experienced mentors which help.
We work with a trainer named Carlie and you can book a 10min free consult with her to make sure you are the right fit here mikeyandmia.co.uk/pages/courses

Do you have a macaw club?
Haha a bunch of free fliers meet up when we can
How come it seems like you guys are not as fond of Mia as you are of Mikey? Just wondering when I watch your videos I'm left feeling like "ugh Mia is a good girl"
Awwww hahaha nooo, we love Mia so much. She is just much more independent, Mikey is a clown, loves people, needs praise, loves attention, Mia is such a good girl who likes Mikey and Mummy human and just likes to keep to herself a bit more
