Thank you for the wonderful pictures of the night sky. I think I must have been stuck under a rock or something because I missed them on all nights. That’s what you get for going to bed at 9pm! 😢
Oh no, Sandra 😕. Look out for them next time 🤞
Wow Dave amazing Aurora lights thanks for pics incredible never seen them before cheers Dave 👍
Nice one Mark. Many thanks and glad you enjoyed it. ATB
I guess seeing the northern lights made up hopefully for the noise Dave on this one! A rare evening of no solitude.
I was feeling your anguish there Dave. I would have felt like telling them to shut the f*** up. Peace and quiet and the time to reflect on life is what you want in a remote and beautiful place, not a Butlins holiday camp atmosphere. 👍 For sticking it out and showing us your great pics. Epic...as always 🍷
Absolutely. I really felt like doing that but thought better of it. Was still amazing tho 👍
In fairness(unless not shown in the video) it’s not like they’re blasting music and being overly load! You can’t be telling them to ‘in your words’ “shut the fuck up” just for talking 😂😂
No they weren’t. They were just youngsters messing about and enjoying themselves chatting and laughing loudly. They’ve probably never experienced solitude, and would s**t themselves if they did 😳🤷♂️
@@benswarbs7407I told some lads exactly that on a campsite in North Wales one time. After passing 11pm and the noise continuing my annoyance turned to a total loss of patience by 1am, culminating in my standing outside their tent and shouting the words in question - worked like a charm!
@@missogyny4921 Yea can totally get onboard with you on this one. Slightly different when on a campsite and it’s gone well past midnight
Excellent night views. I think i might have gone and had words especially after 10.30 or so!
Lovely video as always. Great photos of the aurora
I was on Dartmoor when I saw them. Truly magical 🥰 But those -expel would have driven me nuts!
People even!
I know 🤦🏻♂️. Glad you got to see them 😎👍
Fantastic video mate, really enjoyed that. Thanks for putting it together.
Nice one Richard. Much appreciated 🙏🏻
Beautiful Dave, just beautiful. Thanks for sharing your pics ❤
Dave
Much appreciated Dave. ATB 👍
A TV company should pick Dave up, he brill at this .. ATB ( National Geo maybe) 👍🙏🏼
Thy’s not a bagger. Noooooooo 😂. Brilliant Dave 👍🙏🏼
😁👍
Big telly needed for this one Dave😀
Nice midweek treat for us all.
Must be hard to get going again to do another camp within 24 hours of your last one. What a reward in the end though.
Those pictures of the Northern Lights were incredible as were the views from the summit...apart from the yellow tent😄
Thanks for bringing this to us Dave..cracking film.
Take it easy mate👍
Big thanks as always Simon. ATB 👍
Hi Dave…I feel your pain, I had the same problem on Ben Donich, no danger of solitude that night, it might seem funny to some people but solitude on the hills is a big deal…great video mate.❤️⛺️🏔️👍
Yeah, Jimbo. Not mountain people, just fleeting tourists really 🤷♂️
In response to your comment about the fellow campers with the yellow tent, out here in the American West it’s common to use very brightly colored tents such as orange colored. We have more wilderness out here and a bright tent helps you find your way back to camp. Our mountains are more densely wooded than where you camp, and also fewer campers… but I agree about the noise from your fellow campers. They should respect the peace and quiet
of their fellow campers. I would also be annoyed.
Fantastic Dave - what a great camp (apart from the riff raff ;) ) some amazing photos you captured of the Aurora - superb sir 👌👌
Big thanks Murray. Was a very special night. Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Yea great video I must drink a little bit more not long on this earth we're a tiny spec of it
🙏🏻
Top video as always Dave, Aurora lights looked incredible.
Nice one. Big thanks 😎👍
I watched the Aurora from Langdale........also quite a few people unfortunately!
Great, great shots Dave. Hope the revellers didn't spoil it too much.
Nice one Kelvin. Glad you got to see it too 😎👍
"Hell is other people" as someone once said. I'm the same. I think I would've packed up and stormed off into the night, hoping for the best.
I nearly did but decided to stick it out and just try to ignore them. Glad I did. 👍
Maaaaate what can I say, absolutely fantastic, what a show the aurora put on for you, UNREAL ❤ Olives are indeed the devil's haemorrhoids 🤣🤣🤣 great to catch up with your vids pal, keep doing what you do, you are the best of us bro ❤️ atb Paul 🙏 🏕🏕🏕❤️
Haha. Nice one pal. Glad you enjoyed it. Hope you are well. Much love 🙏🏻
As always a great vlog - thanks for the effort and the result…😊
Great footage , cant believe i missed it all that night 🤦👍
Next time Ray. ATB
Magic , thanks Dave .
🙏🏻
Nice to see the red wine is back :) mmmm where was your glass? :) :)
Aye. Forget the glass 🤦🏻♂️😁🍷👍
Amazing Dave👌👌 the colours in the pics absolutely stunning mate!
I chose a cheeky week in the sunshine/ Spain 🇪🇸 I know it sounds ungrateful but I was gutted to learn about the solar flare & aurora of a lifetime 🙄😂…I’d have been up on top of somewhere for sure! I hear it could come around again in a few weeks so hopefully I can get on top of somewhere dark & quiet 😂🙏⛺️
Thanks for sharing, the shot of your silhouette beside the tent & the skies needs framing mate👌👌
Big thanks J. Hopefully you get chance to see it soon. Very best wishes 🙏🏻
such a spectacle to see. love your videos. you have such a special way in narration, story telling by saying just enough. not too many words not too few.
Really appreciate that Gary. Glad you enjoyed it and best wishes 🙏🏻
My son and I were kept awake until late into the evening by our next door neighbours in our hotel in Cairo some years ago. We were leaving for the airport at 4.30am, so bid them farewell with a series of loud thumps on their door before heading for the lift. Maybe the wild camping equivalent is to stand in the vicinity of the offending tents at sunrise and proclaim loudly ‘good morning everyone’ and tell them what a beautiful day it is…😅
Haha. Good plan 😁👍
Awesome Dave. Watched a few times now. I know what you mean about other folk. I’m exactly the same. People just enjoying the mountains but it takes away from the solitude, which is a big factor for me. Great vid as always mate. Aurora pics 👌🏼 ATB, Craig.
PS … always take your brew kit 😂
Cheers bud. Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Awesome footage of the aurora Dave. I was over at Hallin the same night camped in the van, just up from St Peter’s church. I got a couple of pics, but nothing compared to what u got. Class mate.
Cheers Peter. Glad you got to see it too. Nice one 😎👍
UNREAL pics Dave what a stunning. Vlog well done
Big thanks 👍🙏🏻
I remember that climb well, it's brutal 🤣 Done it a few times on Lakeland 5 passes race, that's the last climb and it's 30 miles into the race 🤣🤣
Wow Michael. That’s savage 🥵👍
What an awesome view Dave. Shame about the noise... I've been there too being both grumpy when it was happening and producing it when I was an ignorant teenager!
Haha. Pesky kids, huh 😁
Class. Epic pics
Big thanks Chris 👍
Great vid mate, just got round to watching a few videos whilst I'm sofa bound with a bad back. Good memories of the Northern Lights, I spent that night on my local hills, Long Mynd in Shropshire. Such a magical experience.... That fell that you were pondering, I could be wrong, but it wasn't Harter Fell is it?
Yeah. I think it was Harter 👍. Sorry to hear about your back. Get well soon 👊. ATB
Nice one Dave. Gorgeous conditions ( apart from the noisy neighbours 😅). ...just Did Kidsty Pike with an old friend, wasn't bad at all...just about got the window of weather....just) .. good job capturing it all anyhow. 👍
Nice one John. Looking forward to your video. ATB 👍
@@TheSoloSummiteer kind but it won't be as visually good as yours. Messed the filming up a tad 🤣🤣🤣
Defo got lucky with the light show.!!!
Beautiful wee spot.
Keep up da guid work.. 🙏❤️🙏
Cheers Robert 👍
Mate - those shots of the northern lights were awesome! It’s such a shame that camera footage is better than naked eye.
With all that noise u might as well have been on a campsite!
See you on the next one! 👍👍
Stunning location Dave ... Great camera shots northern lights. Fab 😊 Love tent quality
Big thanks Andy 👍
Great video and cracking that you got to see the NL whilst out wild camping. Perfect. All the best.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Dave hurtling through space on top of a lakes peak viewing the sun’s deadly solar radiation protected by our magnetic field. How lucky are we? Great vid 👍👍👍👏👏
Much appreciated Dave. ATB 👍
Sublime my friend what a spectacular show never in a million year's I would of expected to see the aurora above my house so visibly strong, what an amazing night so glad you got to experience it on a camp in good old Cumbria 🙏🏻👊 atb Dave well captured mate
Absolutely my friend. Very special and even more so in the Lakes 🙏🏻
You got a cracking night for it. Great aurora footage. Pity you had so many folk join you. Nothing worse. Hope your well bud. See you soon. ATVB Robert
Nice one Robert. Was so special to see, eh. ATB 👍
Been waiting for this video of yours and yes, as I expected, absolutely mindblowingly stunning pictures of the aurora.
Thank you 😊
Big thanks for that. Glad you enjoyed it MLB 😎👍
Good to see you scampering up another mountain and getting great views.
Nice one Ian 👍
Great stuff as always Dave and fabulous Aurora pics👍
Cheers Brian 👍😎
that looked a sick time you had with becky and jake yes watch them all the time down to earth people bro great video can,t wait to see what you think of next brother PEACE 😂
Another great video Dave and the Aurora!!….wow, you must have felt so privileged…very jealous wish I could of been out myself, but I’ll be doing my first wild camp in about 12 months soon following a few health concerns with my ticker recently… well done Dave 👍
Absolutely Rodger it was very special to see something like this. Good luck with your first wild camp. Hope you’re feeling better soon and very best wishes 🙏🏻
We were on the last night of the Cumbrian Way Dave and it was just stunning wasnt it. It was a fantastic end to a brilliant walk. Great video Dave. All the best Gus
Yeah Gus. Very special to see. Glad you guys saw it too. ATB
Quality video Dave. I was camping on Holme Fell on the Friday night. Amazing to see the lights.
It really was 🙏🏻
Brilliant mate ! It was a fantastic night 👌
Absolutely Brian 🙏🏻
Brilliant shots of the aurora x
🙏🏻
Cheers Dave as I also appreciate seeing your videos. Good time getting to the summit, you weren't holding back. Best regards.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching 👍
Out of all your trips,Dave, is this the only one where you didn't get the solitude you and many of us seek? If so, it's not a bad batting average.Unfortunately it will get worse. When I was a boy our neighbour, who ended his days in the county asylum, told me that the world was made for two thousand people.Look at us now.
I know what you mean WB. Peace and solitude are becoming much harder to find and therefore more precious and treasured 🙏🏻
Out in the American West, we have brightly colored tents so you can find your way back to camp. And usually our wilderness areas are much more densely wooded than where you camp. And we have fewer campers (response to your comment about the campers with a yellow tent.)
Cheers Fred. It was actually meant as a joke; I have 2 bright red tents myself 😁👍
You should have went over to those people and told them that you are Solo Summiteer and Solo means they have to leave Dave 😅 Still despite the uninvited company that was a great camp ATVB 😉
🤣👍
You can give the olives to me 😂
🤦🏻♂️🤣👍
Well done Dave , another great video and great pictures. Shame about the noisy bunch, but as you said, not everyone does it for the peace, beauty and solitude. well done👏👍
Cheers Biagio 👍
Excellent video, Dave - as ever! Shame it was spoiled for you, somewhat, by some yahoos. Thanks for uploading. 🏔👍
👍
The hill through the gap will be Harter Fell (Eskdale)!
Nice one. I was discussing it with another hiker up there and they said the same. Well spotted 👍
Wow what an amazing video Dave!! Sooo relaxing and just what I needed ❤ I was on a night shift in the garden at the time of the Aurora losing my mind!!! I love the northern lights!! Oh, were you knackered btw?? 🤭😂 xx
Sounds great BG🤩. Was amazing eh 👍. Knackered? Absolutely 🤣
😂😂
Great video Dave and such a special thing to witness. I feel your frustration, why can't folk just listen to and enjoy the natural sounds of nature instead of been so loud . Just my opinion because I know it annoys me .
Yeah. Peace and quiet is a rare thing these days. Glad you enjoyed the video Steve 👍. ATB
@@TheSoloSummiteer we were above Ennerdale other night. A fellow camper turned up to see us already pitched . He respectfully moved well away from us and pitched up . We never heard a thing from him. As it should be 🙏
@Steve72Outdoors aye. Absolutely 👍
Brilliant video Dave memories of this one will be with you for a long time. Your editing keeps on getting better so professional. Thank you. 👍👍
Absolutely. Really appreciate that. ATB 👍
Live in Cumbria , didnt see any of the Northern lights from my location :( Great camp as always cheers :)
Next time, maybe 🤞👍
I couldn't take videos of the lights either... my old phone was just not up to the job.. all I got was a black screen and my voice saying things like beautiful, amazing, wow , oohhh... so the whole bit ended up on the editing room floor... I was gutted. Still got the memory though. I still posted a video of that night. Take care out there.
Oh no. So unlucky. Glad you got to see it tho. That’s the most important thing. ATB 👍
👋🏻
Great video as always ... How do you find the sizing on your Fjern jacket? Do they size well to normal UK sizes?
Cheers Paul. I was one size down from my normal size 👍
You should frame some of those mate
Cheers Bernard 👍
Hi Dave, another cracking video that was a light show not to be missed! 👍
How do you rate the Fjern gear? been looking at it and wasn’t sure weather to give it a try.
Cheers
Steve
Cheers Stephen. The jacket has been ok so far. Was about half the price of the big brands 👍
Thanks
Thanks for another great video. Can I ask if you don't mind sharing what drone do you find works well for you in the mountains? I am looking for something small that I can pack and has good wind resistance & footage/functionality
?
Cheers David 👍. My drone is a DJI Mini 3 Pro. Great bit of kit. ATB
@@TheSoloSummiteer Fantastic thanks for the feedback. Is it ok in wind or you avoid certain winds over say 20mph?
awesome spectacle, am so jealous, I really wanted to be on a summit for them as well. I was trying to drag my old man up the Cheviot but he wasn't having any of it. Drove up Chapel Fell in the end, still pretty high and the display was unreal. Suspect your view was better though. Did you try just using your phone for the video?
Nice one Peter👍. All the pics and Timelapse were taken with my phone.
