As usual, the Pakistani army has invented a “cause” for which it requires loans. Now, the cause is eliminating terror which the Pakistan army itself was active in creating and allowing into the country. The defence budget keeps increasing year after year even when there’s no war. The defence budget increases at the expense of allocating funding to other areas such as social policy.
The Pakistani people keep suffering. They do not have a source of livelihood. Men are still selling fruit on stalls. For generations, there’s no social mobility. Then there’s the army taking the money that is owed to the people. Deliberately making it difficult for CPEC to take effect when all it does, is benefit the people. Refusing to allow foreign investment which will create jobs and competition, and force people to become better professionals.
Sending Afghans back home when the army itself brought about a situation that lead to their refugee status. Afghan refugees have unfortunately not been good for Pakistan. Pakistan doesn’t even have the resources to take care of its own people. Pakistan shouldn’t be involved in any wars whatsoever.
