    This is exactly what was wrong with my mower and didn't know how to make a quick fix, bending that piece of metal holding the cable definitely saved me $600 on a new mower. Thank you !

      Glad it saved you from buying a new mower. That problem is an easy fix if you just know where to look.

    Thanks for the video.
    Just moved in witha buddy and I said I'd be happy to cut the lawn & initially was excited to see a Husqvarna HU 775H as I loved my chainsaw.
    Well having this same issue, but don't have any tools with me currently.
    I guess it will have to wait through this wet weekend & hopefully Mon. I'll be able to get it done though it will be wet & rather tall.
    Thanks again.

    5:27 if you watch from about this point in the video and look to the left of the the area that you are focused on that contacts the flywheel you will see a metal arm extends towards the flat blade where the wire from the coil connected. This arm will contact where the kill wire from the coil connects grounding out the coil when no one is pulling the lever. When the lever is pulled the arm travels in toward the motor separating from the metal that connects to the kill wire. I am unable to post a pic in the comments. If I figure out a way to post a pic I have 2 that I labeled that I’ll post.

    Grounding out was definitely the problem and bending the metal that the cable hooks to will fix the problem, but the part you gained clearance for is not where it grounds out. That contacts the flywheel to stop the spinning of the motor. The coil grounds out close to where the wire you tested connects. I will try to get a screenshot of it and put it in a separate comment

      Please share a picture if you can. I started that mower today for the first time since last summer. Started on the first crank. Still a good mower.

      I couldn’t see it in the video, but confident you would not go through the effort to inform us if it wasn’t true. I wish I had it apart and could see it, but don’t want to go through that effort. The fix is the same so at least the recommended repair is valid. Thanks for pointing it out and anyone working on it can look more closely at it while they have it apart. Thanks again for viewing and helping to clarify the issue.

      3:36 you touch the red lead of your tester to the flat blade (looks like the blade part of a male crimp on connector) where the kill wire connects and underneath, the arm coming from the point (shaft…you touch with your finger at 3:22) that everything pivots on, is contacting what metal structure the wire connects to in the rest position. Once you pull the lever (3:53 & 3:57) the portion of the unit that touches the flywheel and the arm I refer to “spin” on the shaft clockwise disengaging the arm from where kill wire connects. This is really hard to see in the video or appreciate if you’re not sure what you are looking at. Without taking it apart, you might be able to see it disengage from below, when you pull the lever. If you have a need to take it apart, I think you will easily see what I’m trying to explain.

      I finally got a chance to go back and look again. It’s just too difficult to see. Just wanted to say thank you for the time you took to write the details up. Maybe it will be useful for someone looking at the issues while having the mower still apart. Thanks.

      I think it is a problem with a lot of these mowers. Problem is you always think it’s something else and waste a lot of time not fixing the issue. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    My handle has enough clearance, I installed new spark plug, new carburetor, cleaned gas tank , cleaned the engine new gasoline, yet still it this husqvarna 775 mower will just not start??

    • @FixItDepot
      @FixItDepot  Před rokem +1

      If you have fuel and spark, then need to wonder about compression. Could have a ring problem or head gasket leak. Higher probably is there is problem with spark and fuel though. Wonder if checked plug for spark. Even with new plug it could be a bad or weak ignition coil. Good luck with it.

      @@FixItDepot no i cant really diagnose teh problem..i bought a whole new carb.. clenaed the gas tnak out fixed the choke as it was steady open it wouldnt close all the way im kind of baffled on this one as from the little i do know about small engines nothing hs worked..it should start right up but doesnt..whoever had it put too much oil in it not sure if thatd be a big probelm but engines still star even with too much oil fomr past expoerience ...not sure ive kind fo given up on this one...its ashame it could go for a few bucks if i was able to fix it.

      @@FixItDepot i never actually tested the spark plug ..it looks relatively new so i just assumed it would be ok maybe it is something that simple and my judgement for it isnt that good..i have a tester but its hard to see doing it by myself hopefully maybe thats all it is..but tbh i cant see it being the spark plug. maybe ill try to tackle it agian and see what happens i have a tendency of not being able to give up on these things...it slike an additction lol

      @@sonnyc3826 I would test the plug with the spark tester cause that would tell you the plug and magneto are putting a spark out. If no spark, make sure the mag isn't grounded out. Good luck with it.

    Great video but like most videos on youtube - the person posting the how to does not show a step by step from start to finish. Show what screw driver and ratchets are used , what mm size how to fix the pull cable, what did you do to shorten the the cable thus making it not touch that fky wheel. all folks watching are not small engine repair people.

    • @FixItDepot
      @FixItDepot  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for watching the video and commenting. I did not shorten the cable length. Instead of doing that I bent the metal piece where the cable connects at the flywheel break. I bent it slightly to the right so that the same cable length would allow me to get more travel and clearance from the flywheel. Hope this helps. I used to put more detail, but most people want the short answer and only watch a small portion of the video. Thanks again for watching.
