A few things I'd like to add...
When fighting a group, TTD is better used with the hit effects instead of killing. Fighting a big robot? Melee the torso and knock it out for long enough to kill. Caught in the middle of four marauders? Shoot all their heads or legs to blind or cripple (they hold still for a while too which is a godsend for anyone struggling to aim).
Finally, the bin in your room is not the only storage you have. Two of the three lockers by the entrance of your ship are also for storage. Same with the two fridges in the kitchen. I have 40hrs in the game, I can attest that they're all safe.
Also, you can lunge while stealthing. I'm not sure how quiet it is but you immediately re-enter stealth when you land.

    • @Jessie_Helms
      @Jessie_Helms Před 3 lety +1

Ikr, when killing that ex-pirate in Felix’s quest I pop TTD and pop each of the 4-6 people in the head.

One feature people miss are the consumable use. On your consumables tab at the top of the item list there are slots you can put consumables in next to the adreno syringe. Based on your medical skill there are 1-3 slots to put consumables in. After you do that using the adreno inhaler will always also automatically use those consumables and apply their effect. If a stack of consumables is used it will also start using any other consumables of the same type if you have them in your inventory. What I do is that I have really high medical skill so I am using the +25 base health, 200% health regeneration and then one combat buff consumables. I always take a shot from inhaler every time I am going into a fight to apply all those effects.

Another niche: starting the game with 30 engineering puts you one level from getting basic mods at a 40% chance.
This makes the games pace pick up so fast, as you break down every weak weapon. Now a lvl 1 sword worth 5 bits has a 40% chance to give a mod worth 50-65 bits. I had around 40 mods before I was level 7.. 40×50=2000 bits before level 8 and plus what I've picked up. put me at 5k before lvl 8.
You can almost skip a side area with this method and progress your main story, especially early on if done right. Plus you always have the weak mods so you dont have to worry about using one on a weapon whenever you want.

6:39 I use that chest for weapons and more then there are two lockers by the cockpit where I use one for head pieces and one for body, I will probably keep my more in that chest but move my weapons to the two fridges in the kitchen of the ship so I can have one for melee and one for guns. Point is that there is at least 5 different containers on your ship where you can store stuff not just the one in the captains quarters.

One thing about time dilation: Don't use it with a sniper rifle. With the basic pistol or an assault rifle you can blind and/or cripple a bunch of enemies in one go, with the sniper the most I have gotten is two shots before the bar runs out. I tend to start combat from afar with the sniper and when enemies start returning fire or running towards me I switch to assault rifle and blind the ones that are shooting and cripple the ones that are running.

So a couple more things about Outer Worlds in case you want to do a followup video
1> When you see electricity traps spanning an area, usually causing you to leap over or duck under to circumnavigate, look around. There is usually piping or wiring connected to these things, and they lead to these spinning, barely noticeable things on the ceilings and walls. Destroy those and you destroy the traps.
2> On Halcyon, you will see these plants that look like Tentacles. Those MAY be the horrific imaginings of some concept artist, but those plants actually exist here on Earth. The Clathrus Archeri, also known as the Octopus Stinkhorn or Devil's Fingers... and their mature plants smell like rotting flesh. --> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clathrus_archeri

I kept my companions on aggressive since really theres no point in actively commanding them to attack when they have to fight anyway. My strategy was to have all my companions with specialized grenade launchers to stand at a far away safe location so that I could distract enemies behind cover and be able to shoot them without being withing their field of view. This made it so enemies focused attacks on me while companions shot them from the side. On the of chance a straggler heads for my companions I could ttd shoot them as they would move into my field of view past cover. This also helps with melee attackers that may try to get behind me but will get shot because they're in clear view of companions to blast them away. Grenade launchers are great given how they can take out large crowds, but even in closed spaces this makes it easy to pick them off one at a time as they try to go through a door with us on opposite sides to always have the advantage to get them off guard.
This is my key to surviving early game supernova.

all of the enemies and NPC's and stuff all damage each other too. I mean this might be straight forward really, but friendly fire works for them as well. I've had bad guys accidentally kill their mates while fighting them.
also you can't switch between healing items. the slots you unlock are actually to add to your base healing item. so what you do is spec the inhaler to have the effects you want, based on the items you have in your bag. the more slots you unlock, the better you can make your healing charges. It's really cool actually. I wish dark souls would do this with estus flasks next, you making different types of flasks for different fights that can give buffs and stuff, would save loads of time. it's a cool idea.

The first one about the unchecked weapon data is good until you are comparing companion gear, then it has the opposite effect where a gun in you inventory that is showing lets say 200 dps due to YOUR skills will only do 80 dps in the hands of your companion. so just saying it is really only a good idea to uncheck it when your deciding your own layout and then recheck it for easier party management.
