- Some MLAs from Manipur were reportedly in Delhi to ‘press’ Centre for resolution for ongoing ethnic violence in state. As legislators moved to Delhi, there were speculations of trouble brewing for CM N Biren Singh. However, he rubbished the talk of MLAs’ visit having anything to do with his resignation. As per reports, at least seven MLAs from BJP and ally Naga People’s Front were in Delhi. Manipur CM recently chaired a meeting with NDA MLAs but reportedly barred 10 Kuki-Zomi legislators. CM reportedly said that it was decided that a memorandum for lasting peace in Manipur would be submitted to PM Modi.
