- May the 4th be with you! A couple weeks ago one of us ventured deep into the Galaxy to visit the homeplanet of Luke Skywalker to learn the ways of the force. I visited places lost in the desert and decaying some overrun by tourists others in total neglect. This is again more of a cinematic video of a trip to the abandoned Star Wars movie sets.

I believe the interior shots were shot on screen or in Stage production elsewhere... however I want this piece in my front yard! -a fan of 40 yrs.
yeah, those were used almost exclusively for exterior shots, however there is the inside of the skywalker home, which they did film in it, is or was a hotel but when I went there it was basically a total tourist thing.

It looks like you just rented a regular car and were able to get to all the destinations just fine. I was thinking I would need something with 4 wheel drive. How was the driving to the different places?
Nah totally fine with a regular car, yes it's not highways to those places but good enough

yes, it's just about the name, since the planet in star wars got it's name from the governorate in Tunisia.
Excellent video! When did you go? I've been wanting to do this for years but things being as they are it looks like I'll have to put it off a bit longer. Did you have any problems whilst you were there?
Went there in March 2017 had no problems at all. I would almost dare say that nowadays that country is as safe or unsafe as any other european country when it comes to terrorism. Of course you shouldn't enter certain areas but the star wars stuff is on the "tourist" routes and very safe, they have police checkpoints at all the major intersections in cities and in the countryside. Plus since a lot of tourists don't want to go there anymore it is really cheap and not so crowded :D
