I can't help but notice Kinger and Gangle seem to get along with each other really well, Kinger apologizes for screaming when startled, Gangle reminds him why they're at the hole and he says "Thanks for the recap", they immediately start a round of rock-paper-scissors to rescue Zooble. They're even sitting next to each other at the dinner table at the end.
Kinger is the following 1. One of the first characters to show kindness to Pomni besides Ragatha 2. Seems to be close with Gangle 3. Quite knowledgable about how the digital world works 4. Buggy ass model likely because its code is pretty old
His model is notably easier to animate/simulate than the others, too. No limbs, no expressive facial features. Combine that with the floating VR hands and it seems like he's using a beta avatar or something.
Kinda depressing when you consider the crossed out queen door that could be a friend/wife from his original life before the carnival, so he takes his possible abstraction as a compliment because he wants to see her again, in whatever form she's in now
Kinger for me has a bunch of Rayman 1-2 energy. Detached limbs; huge eyes; hyperexpression. And you know what's funny; there's a chess-based boss in Rayman Redemption.

It's just a screwy way of describing a *computer bug,* something he was supposed to report in his old job. It would also line up perfectly with him being the oldest one there.
Kinger seems to know a lot. It’s just hard to access under an intensely short attention span, paranoia (that may be justified-) and relative detachment from the world around him.

Without context it seems like just another one of Kinger's random nonsensical questions, but it's also a reference to some of Gooseworx's animations (namely Little Runmo and Elain the Bounty Hunter) where a character gets eaten and has to play a gameshow in the stomach.
It's probably my favorite joke in the episode, and an excellent example of how to do referential comedy. A lot of people think that simply referencing something will be funny, but if you don't get the reference the joke falls flat. Here, the joke is funny on its own and the reference is a damn good bonus for people familiar with Gooseworx's animations
It’s mainly because most of the people watching are from Glitch productions and not from Gooseworx like I was, and because a lot of the fanbase for Glitch are young enough to have never seen Runmo
so we all agree right... he made the digital circus: blabbering about a insect collection is a vague memory of the bugs on the game, royal imagery alluding to a form of administrative power, he is the one to explains things related to the digital world, he being the oldest as in he was testing the headset -the mental state of the avarege game developer- everything lines up perfectly

Ragatha mentions that their rooms are ment to mentally rest (something kaufmo didn't) I think king didn't go abstract because when he is alone he just chills in a pillow fort, keeping him mentally "stable"

I think there are different factors that can cause abstraction, in this case, giving up on everything. Kaufmo went insane after giving up on everything which came after him trying to find the exit. As for Kinger, while he's definitely not mentally stable, he hasn't given up on everything like Kaufmo did which probably explains why he hasn't abstracted yet.

I have a theory that linger is actually the created of the circus, he’s got more knowledge than he should and he’s one of the only 2 people who became chess pieces, most take on a circus or sock puppet esq creation, not to mention several times he foreshadowed what would come next, insect collection being the nest, and coughmo abstracting being him going insane. He’s also the only one with obscure outside knowledge, sure they all know their trapped, but only pomni mentioned the head set, but kninger fully referenced runmo, game show in the stomach. Back to his chess appearance while yes it is a toy, I find it odd that it’s specifically a king and queen chess piece, no pawns or knights or bishops, just king and queen, with Pomni being the first to take a full jester appearance. Basically linger created the circus, as of now no clue why, but I’d bet that pomni has some connection to him
kinger may or may not be the most mentally stable but he is handling his mental stability really well he doesnt bottle it up like ragatha and allows himself to experience whats happening while not being real emotional like dangle and he doesnt take his frustration out on others like jax and zooble do and he doesnt try to deny reality like pomni does
If you give a character bug eyes, mental illness and a fun voice there's a big chance they'll be a hit (I love Kinger sm he's such a funky guy who screams a lot)

In chess, slaying the opponent king is your goal. Defending your king requires strategy and positioning. The reason Kinger gets easily scared because he is a king without pawns, I think the real him put on that headset is was scared for the outside world and wanted escapism.
Comparing all the characters to d&d because why not. -Kinger the wise old wizard of the group with a deep pool of knowledge. -Gangel the sweet but ultimately reserved artificer, just as concerned with protecting her facemask as well as her team. -Ragady, cleric, wanted to ease pomni into the world gently and can take a betting when it counts. -zoobil she might have an anger problem with a hands on approach to things that annoy her, perfect for a barbarian! -Jax clearly a rogue type with a selfish streak. He even demonstrated lockpicking I mean come on. -Pomni, talkative, introspective, and colorful. Being the main character at center stage means your born to be a Bard.
Kinger somehow endeared himself to me with only a little bit of time. Poor guy seems to be caught between being a constant nervous wreck and dementia. I cracked up laughing when he ‘grabbed Zooble’ and just stopped… oh…
Also one of the crossed out rooms has a black queen on it. He probably came with a partner, but they abstracted. He is also the only one to talk about how the food isn’t real. He probably went insane and accepted how it’s digital.

Hes crazy because he saw someone very close to him turn into a abstract and get put in the basement, possibly even jumping in after her and seeing the horrors within before being yoinked back up. You can see for a few frames while they're in the hallway that there was a queen piece that was crossed out.
So what if being « abstracted » is just a darker way to say That someone committed suicide in the game I mean we don’t know if we can « Die » in the digital circus If there’s a Queen piece in the game there’s might be chance that this character was Kinger’s Wife and probably witness her « getting abstracted » which can be one of the reasons why he’s hiding under his impenetrable fortress (Like he calls it) because he might be grieving the loss of her and might want some time alone to recover!
My first interaction with the show was my friend showing me a snippet of Kinger because and i quote "i think he'll be your favorite character" Now i know why, not only did i immediately recognize the voice as one of my favorite fictional characters (Rean Schwarzer btw) but after i decided to watch the show by his request, Kingers outright zany and wild personality immediately became the funniest thing about the whole show. We need more Kinger in our lives.
You can tell that kinger is insane. He’s always hunched over, he has slow reaction time, short memory, and hears things which were never said and is also always paranoid to the point of hiding most the time in a pillow fortress. Feel bad ngl

kinger may or may not be the most mentally stable but he is handling his mental stability really well he doesnt bottle it up like ragatha and allows himself to experience whats happening while not being real emotional like dangle and he doesnt take his frustration out on others like jax and zooble do and he doesnt try to deny reality like pomni does

In chess, slaying the opponent king is your goal. Defending your king requires strategy and positioning.
The reason Kinger gets easily scared because he is a king without pawns, I think the real him put on that headset is was scared for the outside world and wanted escapism.
Comparing all the characters to d&d because why not.
-Kinger the wise old wizard of the group with a deep pool of knowledge.
-Gangel the sweet but ultimately reserved artificer, just as concerned with protecting her facemask as well as her team.
-Ragady, cleric, wanted to ease pomni into the world gently and can take a betting when it counts.
-zoobil she might have an anger problem with a hands on approach to things that annoy her, perfect for a barbarian!
-Jax clearly a rogue type with a selfish streak. He even demonstrated lockpicking I mean come on.
-Pomni, talkative, introspective, and colorful. Being the main character at center stage means your born to be a Bard.

Kinger has got to be one of the easiest characters to animate in all of 3D animation.
Kinger somehow endeared himself to me with only a little bit of time.
Poor guy seems to be caught between being a constant nervous wreck and dementia.
I cracked up laughing when he ‘grabbed Zooble’ and just stopped… oh…
He also seems to be highly intelligent and understands quite a bit, but his ability to access this is fairly situational.

Hes crazy because he saw someone very close to him turn into a abstract and get put in the basement, possibly even jumping in after her and seeing the horrors within before being yoinked back up. You can see for a few frames while they're in the hallway that there was a queen piece that was crossed out.
So what if being « abstracted » is just a darker way to say That someone committed suicide in the game I mean we don’t know if we can « Die » in the digital circus
If there’s a Queen piece in the game there’s might be chance that this character was Kinger’s Wife and probably witness her « getting abstracted » which can be one of the reasons why he’s hiding under his impenetrable fortress (Like he calls it) because he might be grieving the loss of her and might want some time alone to recover!

My first interaction with the show was my friend showing me a snippet of Kinger because and i quote "i think he'll be your favorite character"
Now i know why, not only did i immediately recognize the voice as one of my favorite fictional characters (Rean Schwarzer btw) but after i decided to watch the show by his request, Kingers outright zany and wild personality immediately became the funniest thing about the whole show. We need more Kinger in our lives.
