    All of my bait casters except one old one are left hand reels. This helps me not have to switch hands all the time. I still can’t pitch or skip worth a hoot, but I can start reeling faster.

      I just bought my first left hand reel in quite some time. We'll see how it goes. Lol.

    Im a US Army vet , I suffered some injuries in combat that prevent me from using a baitcaster reel, But I learned to do this technique with my Zebco 33 reels , So to any other wounded vets or persons with disabilities , give the Zebco reel a try, my PB is an 11.3 on a finesse jig with 30lbs braid in the brush , flipping with a classic 33 reel , the drag can hold big fish !!!

      Thank you so much for sharing this. Many years ago I was a sales rep in the industry and literally sold thousands of Zebco 33s.

    I'm curious, why don't you use a left-hand reel when you're pitching right-handed. Great video for a newbie. Thank You.

      I've got both right and left-hand reels. I just feel more comfortable using my right arm most of the time. Excellent question and thank you for watching.

    Steve, any difference with a a spinning rod?

    • @SteveRogersOutdoors
      @SteveRogersOutdoors  Před 2 lety

      Biggest difference is the control of the line. If you can keep a finger on the rod hand near the line, by placing your hand mostly in front of the reel seat, you will be able to slow the line down if needed. Otherwise, the motion is the same. Great question.

    I've gotten strikes the very instant the lure "touched" the water ... literally, only one BIG splash.
    It seems the bass saw it coming, happened in very shallow water.
    Cast and reel with opposite hands.
    It's logically and OBVIOUSLY ... ergonomic.
    No switching rod-hand post-cast ... hundreds of times a day. 🤪
    Eliminate wasted motions.
    Crank using your weaker hand/arm.
