It was so nice, clean and fresh. We enjoyed our favorite, Steak n Shake food. I just wish the Freemont had better minimums on the table games. We are 5-10 dollar gamblers. Thanks for your review!

If you are staying in Vegas in the winter non pool season and just going to gamble and drink and on somewhat of a budget then you just want to stay somewhere in a good location. Not sure I'd do the Fremont unless I was getting a real bargain but everything is so close downtown it really doesn't matter where you stay you can walk across the street to gamble unlike the Strip where across the street can be a 15-20 minute walk sometimes.
Ruby, please review the Downtown Grand sometime. Have heard its a small but underrated gem and nice with low room rates and cheap table minimums.

My dad is a major fan of the Fremont. I’m glad that they renovated the rooms. In the past, i remember experiencing dust from all the paintings and the bathroom (though still tiny) looked mature between a cross off a public restroom and an airplane bathroom. I’m hoping to stay there on my next visit.

I spotted a legend at 04:28, Mr. Anthony Curtis! If you want to know about gambling (specifically advantage); AC is the person to talk to. Although, I suspect he prefers the buffet to the new food court. Video poker it's important to pay attention to the pay tables. The ideal pay table for bonus poker is 8/5 (coins for a full house/flush). You were playing 7/5 bonus poker. Invest in a video poker simulator to ensure you are playing the optimal strategy and practice, practice, practice. The royal flush in my pic was on a 9/6 Jacks or Better (99.54% expected return) at a Chicago casino. Luck favors the prepared.

Tony Roma's restaurant in the Fremont is affordable relatively speaking downtown because the food isn't that good, it's bar food. Beware of the prime rib and steak/lobster specials- they often run out of those items or the steak tastes like leather. It has long lines because it's the only casual spot for dinner in the Fremont. Unlike other downtown casinos, the slots at Fremont are stingy/not loose. They also charge for parking. If you want a prime rib dinner deal that's legit than Ellis Island Casino Brewery has a $21.99 excellent prime rib dinner just east of the Horseshoe Hotel on Flamingo Rd.

I chewed each bite, but couldn't chew through the toughness and had to spit it out. Left a pile of chewed meat on the plate. Couldn't flag down a server, so just left hungry. Prime rib may be better, but I'm not anxious to go back.

Hearing you say the old downtown hotels don't have pools makes me think of how exciting it must have been when the Strip built it's first hotel with the big pool out in the back yard. WOW. Then very soon after the second resort was built with an even bigger fancier pool. The hotels on Fremont must have seen a severe drop in customers at that time. It's so cool to think of the incredible excitement people must have felt with being able to swim in beautiful pools for the first time in their lives probably, in beautiful surroundings, because I get that same excitement and wow feeling when I go into the Mirage pool!!!!!!!!

Love downtown LV! it is the biggest block party you will ever be a part of.
The street noise quiets down by 1AM. If you are trying to go to bed before then, you are doing downtown wrong lol!
they must have remodeled that food court area, i don't recall it being that nice and clean.

Cool to see you playing some video poker! That's my only game I'll allow myself to play other than actual poker. I've never hit more than like $1 on a slot but maybe that's my fault for never giving them a real chance and only doing small denoms lol.

I've always stayed on strip but I may try out staying at fremont hotel. There are a lot of variety food options in downtown.

I’ll never stay at another hotel on Fremont Street…it’s to loud (music) to sleep until 4am 😒
