Small tip, make like 128 scaffolding and build it high to avoid caves and up the efficiency too, if you'd like to go further look up how to block spooder spawns and you'll never need to head up for maintenance, can be done with bamboo, string, and a solid couple stacks of logs

Ah Yes, We Can Totally Build That In Survival Like 24 Hours.
The better part is that you can build the upper part to the build limit and then use the bottom ones for xp and the others will be just infinite loot
Don't forget to put a torch in every cave near you so you can actually get mobs to spawn
Or just build it way higher off the ground.

@@Ocarus0Cycle mob spawn rates are not effected by height. The same number of mobs will spawn regardless anywhere the player is.
So if you're at the top of the map they can only spawn in the farm. but if you're on or near the ground they can spawn outside of the farm which means significantly less drops from the farm.
Actually, it IS affected, because the LOWER your spawn cage built - the quicker is chunk update and frequent spawn ticks. It's even tested mathematically.
Even in Nether spawnrate increases, if you build gold farm BELOW bedrock ceiling. But it sure is pain in the ass and overkill, because you'll need it only on servers with economics OR you get emeralds by selling remains and gold to villagers.
I recommend use trident killer system in that mob farm

Like most have said, old design, best used in skyblock or high up in the sky. Some improvements you can make: 3x3 drop hole rather than 2x2, reduces spider clogging at the top. Or you can place slabs every third block on the spawn platforms to prevent spider spawns altogether. But if you're in a regular world, don't build this. Get yourself some redstone first and build a flushing mob farm or use turtle eggs like the first bit so you're not just waiting on the mobs to randomly path off the platforms.

Ah yes, I will go from using a simple farm that takes a few minutes to build to a literal skyscraper that would take hours to get the blocks.

@@ihavealotofmemes That's probably just due to the sheer number of spawn spaces outside of the farm. Take it over the ocean or something and it'll be a lot more effective. There are still better designs though.

This farm works very well ive been using it for 2 years(didnt learn it from this video btw) i usually just keep adding layers to the farm over time, usually 5 at max and it works very well

It reminds me of this ray William Johnson video I saw not too long ago where some tiktokker said “there should be a phone that’s like for the whole family in case of an emergency” and everyone in the comments was like “that’s a great idea, they should make that” when the landline exists.
