- This awesome song by "Chris Rea" is from his album "Dancing With Strangers" which was released in 1987, and this album was Chris's Ninth Studio album which made it to number 2 in the UK, but it was number 1 in New Zealand.. love the lyrics to this song and have added them at the end of this video description.. The footage here was of a Sulky race taking place on a very busy road, it was all getting a bit dangerous, but it was taken by my friend Mark over in Ireland, so many thanks mate..

The faithfulness of the racing horses in peril of their life in all this traffic and hard pavement adds a terrible tension and, perhaps meaning, to the 'Curse of the Traveller'...

Hiya Rich, sorry for the late reply mate, but you know my story, i wander around from one of my channels to the other, and have not been on here for a while.. I love watching Sulky racing, but as i have said in a few replies on here now, this one was getting a bit dangerous, with the horse at certain parts heading towards oncoming traffic, but none of the horses were harmed and no car drivers either.. Many thanks for watching my good friend, enjoy the rest of the weekend there...
@@TheOldrecordclub Yes, was seeing the dangerous parts..suppose that is how it is, on the highways..We get people here, on horseback quite often get hit, as they ride down roads & such..Cars just do not look out for people anymore ! Great vid, tho..Jiust love seeing the horses run!

This was a Sulky race going on here Lucous between two Irish traveler families, and it was getting real dangerous with the oncoming traffic, and the police were trying to stop it taking place.. It's a Sulky Race Saadon, between two irish traveler families, and these races take place quite often over in Ireland, but they are not always so dangerous looking as this one appears to be.. I was more worried about the horses (Grin) Thanks for watching my friend...

Well some races Marina are well organized, but not this one.. I personally would like to see a proper race track for these Sulky races, and not being held on major roads like this race, my real concern was for the horses (smile) i am very much an animal lover, and despite what many people think, most of the traveler community take good care of their horses, it's just a few that don't...
