  • NSDRC promises some big numbers at reasonable pricepoints. Do they make it?
    No spoilers, but these fellas BARELY consume amps.
    Running the gauntlet today,
    NSDRC RS500b and RS800v2, at 7.4, 12.6, and 14.8 volts.

    Sounded like some Clutch lyrics.... The servo jig is also flexing on those big pulls. Love the series and keep up the good work!

    Solid servo information once again sir and thank you. Enjoy your perspective and opinions. I’m trying to decide between a reef and nsdrc servo for steering.

    We need to get companies sending you servos in bulk so you can keep this up. I mostly run JX servos so I'm curious to know how they compare but doing random audience requests on servos you otherwise don't need obviously isn't gonna happen.

    Great testing. I have 2 of the rs800 v2 and they have been wonderful. Best servos I’ve run.

    I love my 500b. Im running a TRX4 HT F150 and loving it. I was going to get a powerhobby and the guys down at RC Destination in Norridgewock Maine talked me into spending a little extra to get the NSD. I had never heard of it and all I can say is; wow, thank you.

    I have the rs500b in my Tekno db48 desert buggy, it’s nice. I use the flash hobby 60kg in my crawlers and I think these 2 servos compare very closely, other than amp draw.

    Another great video. I just bought a 3BRC G13 Pro servo and love it. These test results will have me looking at NSDRC for future builds though.

    I'm pretty happy with my 32kg HV JX servo's, 80kg's seems overkill for what I am doing🤣

    I have the NSDRC RS1 in my Ecto its an absolute beast. On a side note the clear Bushido body is for sale on Associated website and its in stock.

    I definitely thought you were going to bust out in either some Clutch lyrics or some strong Star Trek TNG references after you went into binary 😂. NSDRC has taken some heat for test results but I tend to agree with you margins here are really close. We could be seeing some loss in the jig flex too. Seeing the numbers for the RS800V2, I'm not surprised now that I turned an M3 bolt into a banana. It wasn't tight on the horn (which I forgot about), and moved the steering before setting end points. Fact is I've had really good performance from their servos and I'd still buy them. If you're on their mailing list, they're also running a sale this month with some proceeds going to couple local Mission Viejo charities. I have RS700's in my 4WS rig and they're a solid option. Their micro servo is a beast on the amazon dig gearbox and it offers clearance to run a 550. I'm sure the AGF micro servo would be similar, but it's also convenient because nsdrc also has the horn for micro servos to use M3 hardware👍

      The laydown servo mount is starting to look a little filmsy after seeing it take some of the big pulls. I was worried about the scale mount, but it turns out the servo mount is the twisty bit. I'm gonna have to figure out something a bit beefier.

    I used to think the big names were the way to go as far as warranty and customer service. I've had good experiences don't get me wrong, but I've found buying Amazon prime agfrc or flash hobby servos, customer service and quality for the price is hard to beat. When I had a problem with an agfrc servo, clicked on return, refund in my account 10 min later, ordered another one right away. The only problem I hate running into anywhere else, like when I had a return to Hobbytown for a Reefs servo, having to wait 10 days for the refund to hit lol. I have no complaints with my nsdrc servos but I get just as good or more performance for less with agfrc or flash hobby.

    Can anyone running the NSD-RS500 in a Phoenix VS4-10 straight axle (on 3S Lipo) tell me about their user experience? Any regrets? Is there an opportunity here to spend 25% more and get a leap in user experience? I know this is somewhat subjective and situational, but I'd like to buy a "right-sized" servo one time for let's say "typical" rock crawling use in a VS4-10. And a big thank you to crawler canyon for operating a marketing-hype free channel with extremely useful long-form commentary about this hobby.

      The RS 500 is a fantastic servo at the price point. But… I don’t really like it on 3S. That servo comes to life on 4S. So if you’re doing a build that you know is going to be 3S, there are definitely better options even at the exact same price. But for 4S use, I don’t think anything beats the RS 500 for the money.

    • @swolodkin
      @swolodkin Před 7 měsíci

      @@CrawlerCanyon I already have the Fusion Pro on order so 3S it is. Please feel free to elaborate on the other options you feel are better suited. Thanks for tip.

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@swolodkin for direct-power, the output from the 50kg and 60kg Flash Hobby servos is hard to beat. On 3S, the RS500 is making around 32kg, and you can get 60+ out of one of the Flash Hobby servos for the same money. The M60BHW is probably the model I have the most of amzn.to/3uLHmEk and one I continually recommend. For RX powered, the CLS4050 amzn.to/47FaOtU and CLS4060 have also shown to be excellent, and a little bit cheaper than the M60.

      In a handful. Zoidberg runs double RS500s, and is on 4S. Yella is on 4S with a single 500. But the 800 is in Jolly Green, fitted with a Hobbywing AXE, and therefore limited to 3S-- but the 800 makes over 800oz on 3S, which is more than enough. Way more.
