They couldnt have done a better job with this tune, so wonderful.
Star Trek, back to as it should be. Cannot wait for season 3, hopefully end of 2024.
Sadly season 3 is scheduled for early 2025, but Paramount already ordered season 4 so we good for two more seasons at least.
It's those massive four chords right at the end that really take this from "best Star Trek theme in a long time" to like, contending with TOS, TNG, and Voyager amongst the best.
It's better than those.
I swear, although I haven't confirmed it, but seem to me these last chords in the later episodes have far less, what sounds to me like, "drum corp percussion". I liked it better the old way, although it's still pretty cool.

01:05 is a bit of a sad-ish section with the strings. I often akin that part to Pike's knowledge of his future, then resolves with hope afterwards, "Can it be changed? Is it set in stone? Immortal until those events happen!" We all know the outcome, however, in The Menagerie.
I had that feeling as well. It's a beautiful segment
To me it resembles mystery the most, and human curiosity tied to it. This part, to me, embodies the "strange new worlds" that Pike & co. get to discover and explore. Best part of the entire theme.
Oh yes, oh this is the good stuff. I've hoped we'd get the official high quality release of this one day, and we finally did. Thank you.

Well you could argue star Trek Picard theme was better from jeff ruso as voyager was jerry goldsmith two completely different formats of composer but 99% of all the star Trek themes still encompasses some area of the original tos music

I want the music where una turns herself in that causes hell
I always found Star Trek kinda meh. Just wasn't my kind of sci-fi for so many years. But this show has made a Trekkie out of me, it's absolutely phenomenal. A story whose characters inspire you to be a better person. Chris Pike is the positive role model young people, particularly young men, have been missing for such a long time.
Since Picard, every lead captain has been a positive role model. Sisko, Janeway, hell even Archer and Mariner. I'm ignoring Discovery's existence.
@noabsolutelynot3660 While that's true, they're all old characters in old shows. Back when that sort of character was everywhere and we valued them more.
Now we're more interested in how mentally messed up a character can be, how 'real' and gritty.
I'm just saying it's been a minute since we had a character in a really good, modern pop culture show.
(I know Pike is from TOS. I'm just talking about this particular iteration.)
@@Dandalore Yeah no I wasn't about to bring up TOS, Pike and Kirk in TOS are sorta garbage lol.
But I agree with your point, though I would argue that Picard, Sisko and Janeway all had some fucked up dilemmas that explored how they could be bad and fucked up too. One of the things I love most about their characters is that they AREN'T moral paragons, they're just good people who're often wrong. Janeway murdered Tuvix, Picard nearly fucked over the native Americans again, Sisko poisoned a whole world, often for very selfish reasons. But they were usually trying their best. You're right about Pike and newer shows, but I think the other three come from shows that don't fit the mold of "old show where good is valued".
The reason I think TOS is garbage is because Kirk doesn't have that. You're meant to agree with him because he's a moral paragon even when his actions are morally wrong.
Same. I started with Picard, found it meh, got into clips of ds9 and TNG on yt, then fell hard for this. Finished watching it, then immediately watched through all episodes of picard from s1 ep7 where I left off to the finale of s3. I guess the torch, really HAS been handed off to the next generation of trekkies - our generation.

If none of the original audio of the song is in your video, only your own instruments, you shouldn't have any problem. There's lots of song covers on youtube, it doesn't piss anyone off.
