These are adorable! I just got my Glowforge and I am having so much fun. I just painted some basswood hardwood and then cut some skeleton earrings. When I removed my masking tape, it took the paint with it. Do you have any suggestions that would help me figure out how to make sure my paint doesn't come off? I appreciate it so much!
Thank you! Oh yay, I'm glad you're having fun with it! I only use blue painter's tape since it seems to be more gentle, and I've recently started getting 4 inch wide blue painter's tape so I don't have to tape as many rows. I also use matte/non-shiny paints like regular acrylics since they don't dry as sticky, and then I don't put the clear coat until after I've engraved/cut them. Hope that helps!

Hey there, I was wondering if you had good ideas for bonding stud fixings to mirrored acrylic laser cut pieces ? Xx I've used gel superglue the UV Resined them but the stud along with the resin has completely pulled away / come off xx
I recommend sanding the side you're gluing the stud to and using the largest stud base that'll fit on the piece so you have the most surface area glued on possible 😊

Thank you! Acrylic paint? I honestly get whatever from Michael's or Walmart. Once you add s clear coat after painting, you can't really tell what was used. I also use posca pens to touch them up sometimes.

why do you use blue tape? they looks realy cute btw!!!
I use it as a form of masking tape since this birch plywood didn't come with any on. It's protects the wood from any burning residue while the laser is engraving it. Since I painted them beforehand, I didn't want to any of that residue to get on the paint.

Hello! Wondering how long the actual engraving took? I’m looking to buy for cabochon making
Hi! Easy answer is that both engraving and cutting is pretty quick especially for small pieces used for jewelry, but it really all depends on which laser machine/glowforge you have as the glowforge pro (the one I have) is the fastest of all of them, plus it depends on the size of your engraving, the material, and the settings you're using to engrave. The best thing about laser machines though is that they can be working for you in the background while you work on something else. The glowforge pro says it can handle laser cutting/engraving all day.

There are 3 different versions (I have a link in the description and it gives a discount too), but mine was the most expensive one at around $6,000.
What for paint can be used for this material, is that acrylic?
It's birch plywood and I use acrylic paint and then spray a clear coat after they're done.

Why do you cover the wood with tape?
To prevent burn marks/residue from getting on the material itself as the laser machine is engraving and cutting it. Since I'm pre-painting the wood before laser engraving and cutting, I don't want that process to ruin the finish and colors of the paint.
