In the comics, Negasonic Teenage Warhead is actually a telepath and precognitive mutant. Her abilities were changed for the film due to the fact that the writers thought that by having explosive powers, it would fit more with her name.

@@nailmontana1993 I believe Ego was technically under the Fantastic Four licensing agreement at the time, which Fox owned along with the X-Men. Negasonic was a mutant character but was created AFTER the licensing agreement with Fox, so she wasn't included...so Marvel and Fox swapped characters they each had no use for. Worked out well for everyone.
The funny thing about Colossus eating in his armored form is he doesn't require food, water, air when in his armored form.

I don’t know as much about X-Men as i do say, Star Wars, but given that the clothes colossus wears seem to be custom tailored to his size, and that he has never changed into his non-armored form in these new movies, I’d guess that the in-movie explanation would be that he simply doesn’t have a non-armored form in the revised timeline.

You ask if the guy who literally reads minds and can alter memory has issues get insurance. I doubt he even need to have a premium, he just goes to a different insurance company each time and makes them believe he has cover. That particular era of X-Men comics definitely wasn't a high point for Colossus's character. If you were actually reading the books at the time, then you ought to know that, and know why. His depiction in Deadpool is much more in line with the way the character had been written in the '80s.

I always loved how he was portrayed in the 90s X-Men Animated Series. He is an outsider but is willing to help anyone he runs into. He is just like a Big Brother to the younger X-Men and makes friends fast. It was nice to see they kept his character type so perfectly in the Deadpool Movies. It was like a ying yang with Deadpool.

Because the director wanted him to be huge instead of a normal guy with shiny skin as he called the X-Men's Colossus.
That is how he usually is. Piotr is a big guy in the comics. I guess here he is in a constant metal form so we know who he is and also to show off the amazing cinematography. Also because in order to be this huge they will have to find someone that is that big. Colossus here is on stilts. you don't regularly find 2-meter(6.7 ft) muscle giants that are willing to work in the movie industry. It would also be easier to have him in one state than have him transform if they did manage to find an actor for him

There was a time in the comics where Colossus was 'trapped' in his metal form. He could leave it, but if he did so, he would die. When he transforms from his human form to his metal form, he gains about a foot in length.
The weird thing is that, as the comics establish it, while he is in his metal form, he doesn't need food, water or oxygen, yet he is seen eating here. But since the movies have been confirmed to take place in their own seperate universes, maybe the rules are different in that universe.
Or, if you prefer a real life reason, it's probably because making a realistic looking transformation scene from human to metal form takes a lot of time, money and effort, which they probably didn't have at the time. Especially not for a supporting character.
