It's ironic that you do fantastic restorations on boats you buy...yet the Jon boat is in a terrible state... c'mon it deserves some love 😱
That Jon Boat makes me cringe lol
I would like this comment, but its at 69... I cant.... press... like...
I was going to say the same thing
Yeah you are right about that
what no way, leave it the way it is , it is an Icon
Gaskets made from Kellogg’s cereal packs make good seals.
Can't tell if you're being serious 🤣
Made one out of a front loop box and put it on my old Duramax turbo and it lasted years
Edgar S He absolutely is serious 😂😂
@@coocoo1ify lmao I'm cracking up! I thought it was just wax paper ....
Ian Martel Martel I made a gasket out of plastic tarp for a generator carb
Hey boat guy, I was told on The Hondas when using muffs to put a piece of tape over the inlet just above the propeller, Near the trim tab. It pumps out a lot better when you do that and keeps it from overheating. This comes right from a Honda dealer. I have the adapter for a hose that screws into the side, but I found the muffs to be a lot easier. Take care buddy, I watch a Channel all the time
i had a 9.5 johnson when they first came out around 1970 paid 400 new. sold it a couple years later out of my trunk in a bar for 250. pretty much sight unseen. i wish i had that motor still
Humble guy being honest. Refreshing to see on CZcams.
Love the comment at 1:42 “Is this boat guy approved?” …lol. Nice motor!
Love these vids man i love watching these motors go from bad shape to basically new
Haven't seen any in bad shape. Come to Poland. You will buy an almost new outboard Honda 25HP at a Honda dealer and when back home it will explode because it is worn out to nothing.
No refunds: "Fcuk off! You saw what you are buying!" - that's how it would look like in the court. Case closed.
What's the deal with cleaning? He uses Karcher to clean it and some spray paint. Maybe should start rebuilding V6 Yamaha engines?
@@HanSolo__ youre such a negative person
With all the craziness happening in the world, this is a great diversion at the end of the day, thanks!
Love the fixing up outboard vids. Keep it up
I have that same craftsman tractor I use it to move my 20 foot bow rider and trailer with no problems. That moter is the best they ever put in a tractor of that size. Very dependable.
That is a gorgeous engine...you did well, and provided us some great advice. Be blessed...
Absolute gem! Well done 👍
Really handsome outboard and love the way it starts instantly
Nice score !!! Glad it all worked out for the best.
Those are good mowers I ran and use the crap out of one just like that with a 18 hp Briggs cutting 5 acres to nearly 8 years
Your John boat needs some love! Maybe a paint job. Great motor nice and quiet!
i bought a 150 merc from an auction for $45 sight unseen. picked it up took it home and it ran. sold it for 1,100
Best steal
Was it old?
Jesus 1100 is a steal in my area, I can get 4k all day long for good used 150 hp outboard
@@spenserwilliams9167 it's like 2000 for a 10 HP where I live
@@dirtyhooker6317 same, a 4hp here is 600-1200
Another great video! And happy that you got yourself a good deal! Have a great one!
Thanks for the link to the pressure washer, video idea, you should post your speed on all the different 25hp engines you had on that boat...
Solo? Probably like 25 knots there.. That skiff weighs almost nothing.
I don’t even own a boat or know anything about boat motors but I like your videos 😂🤷🏻♂️
Wish you tell us what you think the value of these engines are so we can see what kind of deals you are getting. That said, I’m loving this channel man. It’s actually relaxing to watch things get cleaned up and returned to running order. Keep it up.
Today's price new its a $5500 engine, they bought a 2011 engine for $1400 I think they got lucky at the auction :) most don't come out as good as this one.
Eric looks like new Great job fun to watch your videos !!!
Nice patina on your runabout with a trick looking jack plate, sweet motor. Thanks for the great videos BoatGuy, Florida looks like a fantastic place.
Nice purchase! How about a close up of your trailer hitch on your craftsman mower!
That’s a sweet deal great looking and running motor again another great video 🇧🇸
A lot of those little garden tractors have grease fittings on top the rear axle hub/flange where the axle exits. Keep em greased so the weight of the trailer tongue does not eat the axles or housing.
I've learned a freakin lot watching your vids. Thanks.
Suggestion! Build a semi-permanent weight box for the front of the craftsman if you are going to be using it as a boat tug. Make sure you can still open hood. I have barbell weights (150 lb.) on a removable bar hanging about 12 in. in front of front axel. I damn near flipped mine towing a 19ft boat, mow I can tow my partially loaded dump trailer with ease.
Wish we had auctions like that in Pa. Good deal on that motor.
You’re one lucky dog we don’t have any like that around here in Watkinsville Ga. Congratulations again you lucky dog.
Thatboatguy you should like 100% do more vids like these, buying motors and boats sometimes and fixing them up, mainly auction stuff and motors
That boat guy, I love your channel thanks for all the information, I have a question I live in New Orleans Louisiana and I'm trying to find auctions that I can attend how do I go about finding government auctions and good boat auctions here.
Wow, increíble ese motor que has encontrado y como lo has dejado, Honda de 4 tiempos, muy potente y bajo consumo de combustible 👍 excelente, gracias...
Man that Honda motor is smooth running and super quiet. Nice.
I worked for Customs and we sold our boat motors all the time at auctions. They are well maintained. There are tons for sale in St. Augustine Florida if anyone is looking.
I would be fishing while on the water to have more fun. Awesome video and lucky purchase
Love the vids man. I moved to Hernando beach a few months ago, now I just need a boat.
Looks like a solid motor. Hondas tend to be bullet proof. You got a very useful motor there worth an awful lot more than you paid.
13:24 it’s also got electric tilt! Very cool!
Beautiful score on the engine. I would have been so nervous after seeing things had been replaced and the missing screw...but it turned out great.
Great job Thankyou,keep it coming.
Glad it ran so well. I went and looked at it before the auction, capped my bid at 1k, should have stayed in the bidding.
Did you see the grinder Mark's on the boats? Savages.
Have not been to TMA in years. Lots of good stuff there.
Wow an 18hp Kohler. That’s a powerful Faucet. 😂👍🏻
I would be interested to see exactly how you attached your trailer hitch to the Craftsman mower.
Looks like a "Lawn-pro Hi-Hitch" kit.
Craftsman sells the hitch kits. Had a Craftsman yard tractor that I put this on. It was even electric. 👍🏼
Amazon
I like that orange tractor you did good on that boat motor.
Jungle Prada boat ramp. One of my favorite places to slip a boat or jetski.
I just got a BF90! Super stoked to see you on the honda game too
I got in on that pressure washer you posted. It was $250 when I looked. Thanks a bunch.
I see the priced dropped from $300 to $250. Its a pretty good deal at $250 shipped
You stumble across all the good deals. You must being living life right!
Soy fan de tu canal me gustan mucho tus vídeos y da mucha confianza como arregla lo motores
That Honda is so quiet and smooth.
Nice job brother. Watching from Melbourne Australia
An often used boat is a happy boat. My 16 foot aluminum is very happy indeed.
That's a Honda, I have a bf50 on my little Scout 16.2 and love it
Haha if I did that it would look fine and turn free and would be a cracked block or something. Never been lucky like that. Great deal ...good job.
Yes great score love when that happens 👍
Wow, first crank start!
Add a front receiver to your lawn tractor to move your boats. It makes life easer.
ran one of these for 2 weeks, 6 hrs a day, on a safety boat for a yachting regatta. really nice little donk. must admit im a bit of a yamaha fanboy, but off the back of that experience, id not hesitate on a honda either. these were hardworking little boats. the only thing i didnt like about the experience was they had high torque props fitted, so not as nippy as I would have liked, but thats not the motors fault. and they could tow a stricken yacht 3x their size, which was kinda the point.
Great find.
I think a forklift is a must for you, with off-roadish tires for the back yard
For future reference quick way to tell if locked up [put in gear turn the prop and watch the top of the motor no movement is a bad sign. From an old timer.
That was a good buy...i bought an 85hp for my boat for 400 and changed 2 spark plugs and it fired right up...the motor that was on my boat was a 125 and my boat is only rated to 90 so I sold the 125 and got some more fishing gear and had money left over for other unnecessary stuff. Lol
Sweet little motor there 👍
nice job, good looking motor
Thanks for sharing this video
always nice work
Mowers are great for towing Helicopters on landing trolleys too.
I want more videoclips man ! Post more !!!! I like your content
your presure washer is the engine of the most boats in our country.. ^^
Post more videos! Love them!!!
Nice score, congrats. Stay safe.
Awesome find !!👍👍✌😁
The Jon boat is unbias, it's the perfect vessel for testing engines!
Well done.
I’m so hooked on this channel🤷🏼♂️👍
Me to fr i cant stop watching all the videos
Outboard that size is only 25HP? Damn, now I know why my family goes out of their way to find the 2-strokes.
This makes no sense
@@aggelib117 it does when weight is a factor.
4stroke are monsters as far as size and weight. I prefer my 2strokes
Great vids love them! I like you tell us what u paid. But it would also be awesome if you told us what you think its WORTH in your area. Keep up the good work man!
Just got a 78 mercury i6 2 stroke carbs are dirty they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it but it runs nice.
Hey eric i'm wondering if you could do a lower unit seal replacement i would really love too see it.
Honda great reliable unit,,you get a new house
That is a sweet motor.
The old Jon boat could use a coat of paint. Just sayin'.
Your right about government owned stuff. Way to go!!
Another great video nice one
Honda’s always start right up.
They also make excellent debris in the carb
Bella nice score man keep them coming.
Love the videos keep up great work. I recently made the silliest mistake while working on my late 90’s Yamaha 115 2 stroke. Revered terminals on the battery, pulled it off immediately but still burned up what I think is lead to my starter? What else should I check? Fuses, grounds for starter, solenoid? Would love some advice.
Probably burned CDI unit
Great job dude
Nice one lads 👍
I’ve always passed on the outboards too scared. I also frequent the tbma
Nice work
People know more account like these I love this kind of content
Hi, love what you do with these old motors, and saw this video, I have a 50 H.P. 4 stroke honda on a pontoon boat, but I cannot get the fuel connector at the motor to come off. I push, but the silver square button won`t budge,I`ve sprayed it, but no luck. I`m afraid to squeeze it with channel locks in case it cracks or flies apart. I want to replace it with new, but also having trouble finding honda parts, or dealers in my area, york,pa. Can you help me ? Thanks, Philip.
Awesome buy 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Woww man such a great deal and a engine.
Seems like it is running a little rough ? Might need a tune up ?
I like your videos pretty awesome!
