      I wish you had tested the CFR/CFRFMD versions of the sender. the sender 6 doesn't really fit into the competition as it really is a budget bike. also the commencal supreme and furious would have been great aditions. but none the less, great review. i am really interested in all the new DH bikes on the market for 22, i am excited for your evaluations on those.

    If you haven't already figured out the headset issue on the Canyon Sender 6, let me enlighten you. My brother purchased the bike earlier this year and for the first few rides experienced a lose and creaky headset. We retightened the headset as well as greased. The problem became acutely evident several rides later at the bike park as one of the PLASTIC headset spacers exploded. Take all the plastic headset spacers out and replace with aluminum or carbon and the stock headset is fine. I also double checked the Across headset on my Canyon 360 and sure enough they were plastic as well.

    • @vitalmtb
      @vitalmtb  Před 2 lety +3

      a few years ago, it seemed to be an issue, but now, reputable shops are standing out with great customer service and will service any bike. if a shop won't service a direct bike, find a new shop.

  • @downhilldonnie
    @downhilldonnie Před 2 lety +10

    I think it's key to highlight the wheel difference when comparing prices. The Session is 29" (adjustable to 27.5") vs. the Sender is 27.5", and 29" tend to be more expensive. Great video and comparison.

    • @vitalmtb
      @vitalmtb  Před 2 lety +3

      thanks! we tested the canyon sender CFR last year and loved it czcams.com/video/9-2oDBTBeFA/video.html the wheel size itself doesn't impact price. the new sender CFR is carbon and canyon doesn't make an alloy version. if they did it would be cheaper. the CFR starts at $4,799, which is a great value. as mentioned, the trek and pivot are likely more expensive because they are not direct-to-consumer brands like canyon or YT. some riders may not need a dealer and direct-to-consumer works well for them, but others may find value and peace of mind going through a dealer when it comes to dealing with parts, repairs or warranty.
