    Spring side of a thermostat has always been to the engine side in my experience, but I learn something every day. As you say, it couldn't go the other way. I wonder if there's a simple explanation by looking at the direction of coolant flow. The hot side should be the side with the wax pellet, otherwise it might not open up when hot coolant meets the back side.

      One of the complaints was too hot of temperature, when driving, and it was cold outside. The thermostat was stuck open, and it faces the wrong way. At this point, I will stop trying to make sense.

    Ever try a vacuum filler for coolant and do you think its worth it. Thanks!!!!

      When you let the sealed engine cool, after you heat it up with no pressure, you get your vacuum. So technically, yes.

    Hey can you please tell me the name of that wholen assembly so I can order it…. And is there a bleeder on the thermostat to get all the air outta the system?

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  Před 7 měsíci +1

      It's a thermostat housing, there is no bleeder. Remove fill cap to burp it.

      @RustBeltAuto thank you one last quick question do the thermostats and the temp censor come with the housing new? Or do you have to by new ones. My p0125 came on today. No over heating and no coolant leak as far as I can see. I’m guessing it’s the censor.
