  • Capability curve of Generator has been explained in the simplest way in this video.
    Also the sub-transient, transient & synchronous reactance are explained using ETAP software. ETAP short circuit study should be carried out considering the sub-transient or transient (depending on project requirement) reactance of generator. However, load flow study should consider the synchronous reactance only.

    Always use sub transient for short chircuit. It represents the worst case possible and includes all motor contributions to short circuit (you need to set your motoro data accurately as possible)
