  • This trip ended up being delayed by a few days due to a Coastal Flood Advisory. Crazy winds, unusually high tides and huge waves from Hurricane Teddy led to the beaches flooding all the way to the dunes. As soon as the advisory expired, and Davis Shore Ferry opened back up (after being closed for a few days due to high winds) we headed to the island to start our trip. We then spent the next 5 days/4 nights fishing, exploring, getting stuck, almost having our camp flood and best of all, sleeping on the beach. These trips never disappoint.
Filmed in 24p with a Panasonic G85, GoPro HERO 7 Black and an iPhone 11 Pro. Opening and closing flyover sequence partially created with Google Earth Studio, a drone was not used in anyway to create these "aerial shots". Filmed September 2020.

I've been camping on both Core Islands since I was 10 years old. My Granddad would take me and few buddies out there in his boat and drop us off for a few days. This was back in the 1960's. I'm not sure how I stumbled across this video but I'm glad I did. It bought a lot of memories for this 66-year-old. Well done and thank you.

Hi David and thank you for the comment. I hope my son will also have fond memories of the trips we bring him on.

Not sure if you remember, but how were the mosquitoes this late in September?

Hey Nick. Late September has always been good to us with very little bug activity.
