As a mother, Mapleshade was abandoned by her mate Appledusk after losing her kits, which was the last straw that pushed her into the abyss.
When I found this song I thought it would be a perfect fit for Mapleshade, so I decided to start drawing it right away, I hope you guys like it!

I love the detail of Mapleshade’s leaf coming off when she reaches for her kits. I take it as showing how she lost herself along with the kits.
I like how at the end she's talking to the bodies like they are her kits😭
The song fits perfectly as it’s meant to be sung for kids but it has an added eerie-ness to it. Then, the scenes and the timing of certain events works out really well to tell Mapleshade’s story. I also find it very creepy that towards the end when Mapleshade is singing (I think) to Ravenwing, Frecklewish, and Appledusk like how she was singing to her kits in the beginning. It has a parallel symbolism I think idk, but anyways, Phenomenal work as always!

I love this! It’s so eerie and captures Mapleshade well! I love that at the end she’s singing to the dead bodies of her victims as if they were her kits, amazing detail there because she killed those three cats to avenge her kits’s deaths! Keep up the amazing work!!

Mapleshade was always a bad cat she was the abusive one first she manipulated Appledusk,took her kits out of camp way to early,basically killed her kits,etc.She killed 3 innocent cats and here is way they are innocent.Ravenwing:Ravenwing is so innocent oml he was just doing his job as a medicine cat.If he didn’t tell Oakstar he would’ve been disrespecting Starclan it’s not his fault died it’s Mapleshade’s she knew there was a bridge.Frecklewish:Oml yall she is also so innocent she thought the kits would be safe when she saw the patrol.And Mapleshade couldn’t even swim Appledusk and his patrol had to save her.What good could Frecklewish do in that situation?And it was also flash flooding,do you know how scary that is?Appledusk:Ok Appledusk is a cheater but he would have been WAY better off with Reedshine.Like he is the victim in his relationship Mapleshade manipulated him to love him.Mapleshade even manipulated the reader to feel bad for her and the fact that so many people can’t see that proves how good she is at manipulating.Appledusk was doing the complete right thing.

Thunderclan shouldn’t have broken the code by sending the kits out to their deaths, Appledusk shouldn’t have cheated or at least he should’ve waited until after the burial of the kits, Frecklewish shouldn’t have assumed the kits were her brother’s and shouldn’t have hurt Mapleshade, Ravenwing should know better too.
We don’t even know Mapleshade’s full story nor her full relationship with Appledusk so we can’t say for sure whether it was manipulation or not. She also clearly cared about her kits.
@@unknownuwu8966 Frecklewish was innocent she was TOLD the kits were her brothers so she didn’t assume.Ravenwing would have been kinda disrespecting Starclan by knowing there is liar in the clan that is part of the medicine cats job to dig deep into omens it was right for Mapleshade to get exiled yes the kits should have stayed but I also think they shouldn’t have.And also Mapleshade is the reason for her kits death she knew there was a bridge Appledusk literally warned her to not go in the river again and yet she still did.

Also when snow fur died she decided to take away the grieving husbands only son away from him just because she didn’t like him enough, turned his mom and son and sister to hate him and turned them all against him and then after being so stupid to not believe what her people were saying she goes insane and wishes death on everyone because they hate them and there all traitors, people exuse her completely saying that being an abilest psychoticly abusive person is ok because she lost 3 people in her life but maple does the same thing except becomes a murder and it’s not ok. Oh my gosh- this sent actual chills down my spine. The part where she seemingly went insane and started singing to the dead was such a creepy part to add.
OOOoo this so eerie and well done! The way appledusk was ready to throw mapleshade to the wolves to save his own skin had me in tears 😭. Then mapleshade going absolutely MAD, singing to the dead corpses like they were her kits. The expressions are done so well!!

That’s pretty much how it happened. He basically whined how he made a big mistake and feels so bad about it, escaping punishment for the same “crime” as Mapleshade. He had no sympathy for her or her situation.

Be real; she would have zero sympathy for Appledusk if the roles were switched. If you've read the books literally at all, you know well that half-clan relationships aren't even the problem; they're literally just used as an excuse for why characters are being treated the way they are. They literally used that as a reason for why they treated Leafpool the way they did. 😂 and explain why he’d have sympathy for someone who admitted to crossing a river and getting their own kids killed

How is that throwing her under the bus?? 😀 Him blaming her for the reason the kits died isn’t throwing her under the bus. It is her (and oakstar’s) fault the kits ended up dead.

It's in the book I believe she killed them to avenge her kits because in her mind she couldn't get her kits crying out of her head and each kill soothed them or something

I love how this shows Apple Dusk, I truly believe he deserves the dark forest. What he had done was so evil and if not for it life's would be spared

He literally did what squirrel flight did. Squirrel flight is apple dusk, maple shade is bramble claw and reed shine is ashfur. Squirrel wasn't in a relationship with ashfur but she was in a relationship with bramble, (Yes, squirrel didn't and up in a relationship with ash, ik ik). Apple dusk and reedshine got together after maples and his brake up. If apple dusk deserves the dark forest for that, then so does squirrel flight.

1.) Apple knew what he was doing, Squirrel didn't
2.) Squirrel was tricked by star clan into believing it needed to be Bramble, as well that she was unable to have kits and a lot more
3.) Apple blamed Maple for it all. In the end yes Maple should have done differently but it wasn't her fault for loving and trusting him and trying to get his kits to him.

I think it's a great way to describe what MapleShade felt.
It's art like this that reminds me how messed up MV is. Everybody deserved better.

I just want to give my argument for why the kits dying wasn’t Mapleshade’s fault because why not?
The warrior code states that no kit should be turned away or harmed no matter what clan they are from. When Thunderclan run her out WITH HER KITS they were breaking the warriors code.
Edit: I know that she is partially at fault but there are multiple cats to blame before her, she was doing what she could because she wanted to save them and give them the best life she could.

I think she's partially at fault for even taking them in the river during a flood (AND THERES ALSO LITERALLY A BRIDGE... WHY DIDN'T MAPLESHADE USE THE BRIDGE LMAO???)
But the clan definitely shouldn't have cast her and her kits out. It's hard for a lone queen to care for kits all by herself, and the leader even said that he might have let her stay if Appledusk hadn't killed Birchface. That's just... not fair at all. That wasn't Mapleshade's or the kits fault at ALL.
@@Allister_TheGhost She had literally nowhere else to go, Twolegplace was frowned upon because the kittypets aren’t ‘honorable warriors’ I don’t need to explain why ShadowClan and WindClan weren’t an option, and any other path meant going back into ThunderClan. She HAD to go to RiverClan, to Appledusk, it was the ONLY option. The drowning wasn’t her fault. Everything else was.

oh man this is amazing! i absolutely adore unsettling mapleshade content it absolutely works so well for her story! everything works so perfectly and is so well thought out like the background colors getting more and more dull and desaturated until it's just gone and replaced with the void and mapleshade loosing the leaf along with her kits signifying her life being totally altered... perfection

This is so well made this actually made me FEEL so much. Like on the part where Appledusk pushes Mapleshade away I felt her betrayal as a squeeze in my chest. This song fits this really well and a lot of emotion is portrayed there! Good job!

Maple is genuinely one of my favorite characters solely because her heart was so misguided. I see that argument with Ashfur, but it’s different when a mother is truly and tragically alone. Something about a mother’s love just hits different
Maple went insane with grief, having actual hallucinations. Meanwhile, Ashfur was completely sane

I used to bé one and i was so annoying with ppl,now i'm kinda siding with mapleshade but i learned to not annoy ppl.fun fact i hated mapleshade before Reading her Book because of thé AMV that depicted her as a girl boss who was totally concious and enjoyed killing even tho in reality she was an overly naïve cat who gît into thé most traumatic shits while injured (thanks to frecklewish plus like riverclan had no business to personally treat her that badly) and got subject to hallucinations who told her that the only way for her kits to go to heaven was to kill thé cats who wronged her,still not an excuse but she's much more enjoyable when being depicted correctly liké in this amv
