Today I am opening up the very first of its kind artist art supply advent calendar! I am absolutely so happy that these finally exist, Arteza did a great job! Being British, Christmas calendars or advent calendars are very popular, but I have never seen an advent made just for art supplies! You have a new art supply inside each door, and we made art with what was inside!

I didn't end up purchasing this advent calendar, but it inspired me to DIY an advent calendar from art supplies I already own. I'm guilty of owning art supplies I don't use, so I've been excitedly organizing them into palettes and coming up with prompts. Won't be too surprising, but I'm still excited!

Art-related advent calendars have been around for years, but like you said they are usually based around specific supplies like watercolors. Doodle Date has opened a couple of them in the past.
We have an art and office supply store in Scandinavia that has their own advent calendar, I do believe that it's mostly pens though
To be fair, this one is very acrylic specific, so it fits with the idea of basing it around one theme or supply type
@@inanek7107 Yep, I triad Pen Stores Advent Calendar last year. Maybe 50% of the pens were more art related and the rest more for writing.

Poinsettias actually come in dozens of colors, most stores just carry the red or white because they're the cheapest. My favorite is actually a really pale green ^^
I was going to say this too. My favorite are the fuchsia-purple ones. The salmon-colored ones are lovely too.
A lot of people in my area (south Texas) plant poinsettias in their flower beds and it’s so fun this time of year to see these plants that normally look like odd green weeds become a riot of color.
One of my favourites is the red and white striped one, called of course "candy cane poinsettia". I also love the blue ones, these were most popular in the floral department that I worked in.
That's so cool! Poinsettias are so pretty.
I love how this calendar had a theme and also had challenges. Made it more thought out than just random art supplies in a box.

Advent calendars are German, that's why they only run until Christmas Eve which is when we celebrate Christmas in Germany! In Germany they also sell craft kits to make your own advent calendar that you can refill every year

Like many of the great Christmas traditions , no surprise it’s originally come from Germany, but I believed the chocolate advent calendars were a bit of a mix of a few countries and now of course the advent calendar is a big market. You can get pretty much any type of advent calendar, from chocolate to chillys and even chilly flavored chocolate :) :) , it’s great to see a Art advent calendar with proper full sized products though and thank you for sharing this with us, it’s unfortunately so easy to feel scammed nowadays, when you buy some of these calendars and it seams you only get samples in them, when I was a teenager I brought a special branded advent calendar for myself online and unfortunately when I received it, some of the doors had already been opened and the products had been removed even though it was sealed in a plastic wrap.

We do but I think I would love it more to wake up and there are presents 🎁 than seeing everyone sneak into the living room to place their presents under the tree 🌲. In my opinion it would be a bit more ✨magical✨that way

The brand "Stabilo" also made an adventcalender filled with arts and crafts stuff from their own brand. And I think the also did it last year. It is more about handlettering than painting though and it is pricy. But it is really well put together with an project idea for every day.
I am sorry to hear about your uncle. His situation is awful! I really hope he gets back to the U.K.! I’d totally be helping but in a position I can’t. ❤️

I think this is art supplies advent calendar is a great idea! Especially for like an artist just starting out or an intermediate level artist. The colors they chose all seem festive and jolly.

I like the idea of a 12 day calendar to take you from Christmas day to 12th night, cos let's face it, the days after the festivities are over but its still technically Christmas are a bit pants. 🙃

The bear snowman is super cute. I don’t really do advent calendars but I think for people that do, this one looks like a great choice. What a good way to maybe get kids involved in art, rather than just celebrating advent with candy and trinkets.
Chloe has been really inspiring these last few months….She inspired me to make my own art channel! ❤️ it grows really slow because a lot of people dislike my videos. ??Idk why or what I ever did to them?????? But it’s been consistent. I’ll spend a week+ on a video just for it to have 7-11 dislikes and 3 likes. It’s crazy how the CZcams algorithm works- like a couple dislikes and no one watches the video. It’s really getting hard but art is what makes me happy :D I sometimes feel the hate get to me sometimes but I have to push through and wait for my “big break” if u kno what I mean. Anyway I just wanted to say that Chloe is a big inspiration for me! 😅

If you do get the 25 day one you should open them one a day from the beginning of December, posting on insta and CZcams short each day what they are with something you created using the item. After Christmas you can then create a piece using everything you got!
I feel like that would be adhering better to the tradition as well as more creative for you.
Whatever you do will be perfect, just though I'd suggest this.

I have seen Advent calendars with Art supplies before, but they come and go. I would like to see a watercolor painting using the hexagon finding a way to put down some good watercolor paper I have stretched canvas over a hex frame but I am not sure the one you have from the calendar would be strong enough. I am the same Chloe! Every year I have looked for art based advent calendars. This year I finally caved and bought myself a wooden advent calendar shaped like a house from Hobbycraft which I am painting and using some felt and pipe cleaners and tiny little bells on floristry wire to make candy canes, snow and fairy lights to decorate it. There are little drawers for each day so I can fill it with whatever I want to (this year is Lindt chocolates lol) - I may even one year write out a different art challenge for each day and have those in the drawers to do throughout December 😁🎨🖌️

I really like the snowman. My son can't decide between them so he says they are all his favorite 😄. I really like this advent calendar. It is good to hear a CZcamsr reviewing an advent calendar point out that it is just for fun and not really to get a good deal on things or that it will equal the cost of the items. People seem to forget that. They often cost more then what all the items are worth but it is a once a year thing and very fun.
