- Today I covered my entire wall in paint swatches, pantone cards all over the wall to make a rainbow style background. I've painted many murals in my time but this was something very different and it was SO fun. I saw something similar on Tik Tok where they went to home depot and covered their wall in paint swatches, but I wanted to try it with pantone! Let me know what you think!

Would you do this on your wall? Would you do it differently or the same? Let me know! 👇
Exactly the same as you. The gradient looks amazing. 😍🎨
Yes!
I would if I had the dedication because this looks stupendous! Good job as always, Chloe!✨✨✨
I like the idea but I would have covered the white part of the cards
It looks amazing! One thing that might make it a tad better is a matte top coat (just spray it on) it would get rid of the glare from the ring light and make it look a tad more refined
Wow, it looks so neat. =O Plus if you ever need to know an exact color you know where to look! =D
Omgg hi!!
HI, I enjoy your channel ... can't get enough of your style ,tips and info ... thank you.... you have inspired me to get back in to drawing again.. 😇👍🎨
Omg, hiiiiiii
Ahhh! I love your comic!
omg i love ur channel
In my house hunting I looked at a house that had nails driven into every wall of one bedroom so close together that I couldn't fathom what they possibly could've been hanging. This definitely wasn't it, but I bet the holes left behind from this project will be just as confusing to anyone seeing the room without the cards on the walls. XD
I kept thinking that her wall was going to look perforated when she takes all of these down lol
@@pinkbutterfly8710 I really want to hide something in my current house before we move to make the new buyers go crazy trying to figure out what was going on. This would be perfect for that. XD
Nothing a bit of spackle won’t fix :)
@@loverrlee noooo don't fix it, leave the mystery for the next people to try and figure out! XD
XD
It does look really cool! I personally would have cut all of the white bits off so they were all colored squares, and then I'd probably start in the corner and diagonally make the gradient so it ran from that upper left corner town to the bottom right. I'd have also used velcro dots so then if I ever wanted to change them around, they are easy to remove and switch.
This is exactly what I was thinking. I would maaaaybe keep the white bits out of laziness but I definitely would've tried the top-left to bottom-right gradient.
I think I would also write down the names of the colors after cutting off white excess
Me, too.
Yeah...I thought that she was going to do the same
I actually did that to my wall!!! The diagonal rainbow swatches
As someone whose family owns a hardware store, thank you for not just taking all the 'free' samples. They are ridiculously expensive to buy for the store.
I'm a school teacher and we always have to put things on the wall.. Next time check out mavalus tape! It's great! It stays up forever and won't hurt your walls!!
I’m a school teacher and had never heard of this, thanks so much!! Absolute life saver
Not all heroes wear capes...You a real one 🙏
Such an unusual and unique wall idea! I totally would do this on my art studio wall. So fun. I thinkI would end up using alien tape or flex tape that leaves no marks…
Beautiful job Chloe!
I mean, quite a few youtubers have done it already lol it's a yt trend at this point.
Very interesting! Personally I’d picked a different way to affix them …maybe using packing tape on the back to make one long strip so each row could be hung with maybe 3-4 pins. Also I think, decoupage the light / outlet covers or paint them to color match the swatches around them. Truly an amazing project and I’m glad you didn’t take 1000 paint chips from the store 😉
Damn the packing tape idea is so good.
@@shivanipathak5380 painting tape would be better than this because that way you won't have to worry about damaging the wall.
@@Dynwyn yea I knoww
Amazing!! Absolutely deserves a thumbs up just for the sheer patience in doing this! ☺️👏👏👏👏
I was thinking about how I’d be too socially awkward to go into a store and take all those samples. I would probably collect them over many months to avoid my fear of strangers momentarily wondering why I needed so many. Your solution was much better, Chloe!
Ikr same
I love it when you include the clips of you talking to your pups! They are pretty entertaining and remind me of the funny frustrations of being a dog parent myself! I find I have to tell my dog no and ask him to stop being ridiculous often! But we love them anyways right, crazy and all. 😂😂 Also I love how the wall turned out!
Many amateurs don’t realize that giving your dog all the snuggles is a necessary step during an important art/DIY project.
It won’t turn out properly otherwise. 🤷🏼♀️
@@SoCalJellybean I agree! They are a part of our work!
Chloe, they look absolutely amazing! What a brilliant idea! When the first lot started to fall down I felt sorry for you, but it seems to have worked out really well for you. It was super kind of you mum and brother to help out by organising them into a better colour balance. That must have taken so long, not just for them, but for you too! It looks amazing Chloe. Well done to you all for the hard work you did! God bless you all.
Neat wall! The bonus with the kind of tacks you used is that you can hang small, light objects from them (such as ornaments or plush key clips).
I also understand about tacks going into the wall easier in some places but not in others.
I know this would have been exhausting…
But I’m here like “I wish I could do this WITH YOU!”
Anything that involves sorting colors excites me. A little too much, maybe.
And the color order- this is the pain we all feel with pencils and markers. They never come in a pretty rainbow order and it’s so hard to work out the best arrangement. That would be my biggest struggle. Forever looking at the wall and wanting to rearrange a few of the colors again… 😜
But this all looked great! You did such a good job and it’s so creative!
Sarahhh :0
I love this idea and since I'm redoing my room I want to try this too 💗
Also could you do a acrylic paint tutorial I literally suck at acrilic 😭😭😭
This is so unique!! And if you’re in a rental like I am you can do this without painting you’re wall!
And you can explain seven hundreds of holes on the wall later 😅
@@hal_jordan2814 on top of that she will have to spackle, and sand the whole wall. Then she will have to paint the wall.
* I just realized that this would only work if the walls were made of drywall. If you do this to a lath and plaster wall YOU WILL BREAK THE WALL.
In a rental, this isn't a good idea because filling all these holes before move out would be the worst. The showing of the pentone bugs my brain. I learned a trick in college: if you use the pin to pinch the paper to the wall, your art won't have a hole in it. In saying all that, I really do love the concept and outcome (minus the words). It's a great idea and happy you are happy with how it came out 💜🖤💜🖤
I’m glad I’m not the only one that is bugged with the writing and white showing 🙈🙈🙈😅
I was binge watching your videos, and you uploaded a new one. You made my day❤. Love your artwork and videos.
Good mom for the win!! You’re lucky you have such a supportive mom. 💗💗💗
I'm in a graphic design program in college and pantone charts are sooooooooooooo expensive. I keep looking for just small pantone stickers or things for scrapbooking and decoration. I didn't find these postcards before they're pretty cheap! This would be suuuuuch a good decoration for an art room, definitely keeping this in mind for when I get myself a small studio
I love how supportive your family is ❤️
And your favourite colour green is directly eye level on the wall when you sit down. 😍
I've always wanted to make a ball gown out of those swatches
Such a fun idea!! way to keep going when things got rough 😁 your color layout worked much better.
I personally wouldn’t have had the names showing but it’s looks great either way! And so happy you changed the order!
Please be careful hammering into the wall around light switches and plug sockets... You could get electrocuted
I love this! I have my watercolour colour chart in a frame on my wall and now I want THIS!!! I might do it more like a snake rather than rows so the rainbow was continuous but go you Chloe for coming up with this!!!
Wow, I love the effect this gives off.
That actually tunred out great Chloe. I probably would also do this on my own wall. However from learning in paint class, I would have mine re-arranged as a giant colorwheel as well as different family of colors on it. :)
So much better the second time around! Love it!🌟
Well done Chloe! It looks amazing.
Wow looks amazing, great effort Chloe x
This looks LOVELY! I would absolutely do this to one of my walls.
Thank you for reorganizing the colours, looked much better in your order!!
Chole! Omg you had me rolling!!!! Loved the vast array of emotions portrayed. The outcome was totally worth the insanity the insued!👍❤👏 You're awesome Lady!
I've always wanted to do something similar, and I love the results! The wall turned out really unique and amazing!
I love this idea!! I wish my parents would let me do this. Love ur artwork.
Just tape them with double sided tape over wallpaper
@@greenbillugaming2781 idk my mom is the most organized person ever so I don’t think she would even let me do this, but thanks for idea!
Thanks for pinning Chloe
This turned out amazing!!! I love that you stuck with it and didn't give up when it fell down. It was well worth the time you put into it. Hugs and blessings
Wow I love that idea and I absolutely love you and your artwork 💕
I am in love with your artwork! I always watch your videos as I make my own art 😊
This is a fun idea and looks fab! I’m just worried that the dogs might come in and brush against the wall and knock some down 😩 easily fixable though. I like that it’s not a permanent fixture, if you change your mind and want to reconfigure them into a bear shape, or just want a change in general they’re easy to take down and move. Perfect back drop for an art space 😊
Oh wow! I'm so glad you changed the sort order!!! The way they were sorted in the bix made no sense to me! Lol! What a fun way to decorate!
this is sooo cool! your videos ALWAYS get me excited to create!! just a thought - you could use a spray paint can w/ matte medium and go over the cards to get rid of the glare, it might look more cohesive as a background for filming. lots of love :)
You did a fantastic job Chloe!!
This needs to be a wallpaper. I want this in my room.
Looks fantastic! So glad you didn't give up on it!
I'm so glad you rearranged the cards.
I planed to do this literally yesterday. I have this cards in my Amazon cart 😂 I think we must be soulmates 🙃
Looks great Chloe!!
Turned out better than I thought it would-definitely adds pops of color
Honestly. I find this to be very helpful lol like if you need to find colors for pins or something all you have to do is look at your wall. So easy!
Wow well done Chloe! It looks really good
It does look really cool and thank you for fixing the blending
Bask in the glory of your hard work. You have earned it!
That is gonna be super fun to fill all those holes when the time comes to move 😂 but it is pretty cool. I’d also use one of the half size hammers cause they are lighter weight and easier to use.
Beautiful! If I were to do this, I think I would go I’m ROYGBIV order. That’s what makes sense to my brain. I really love how you play with color and make it work for you as an artist. Not only here, but in your illustrations as well. Thanks for filming, editing, and sharing this process with us.
Less than a minute in, "that was the original plan". That's how you know it's a fun video
OML CHLOE! I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE IDEA OF YOU PAINTING A BEAR SCENE EVERY VIDEO AT THE END IN THESE LITTLE CARDS! AHHHHHHHHKSKS
Genius Idea!
Especially for an artist.
This is quite lovely and inventive! Good job!
Very cool !
Definitely worth the time.
I have a set to put up in my new studio. I never thought of covering the whole wall.👍🏼
Great idea !🎨
I love it! You did such a great job on it!
Wow Chloe that was such a creative idea, it looks great! 😊
Nice Aw yes Pantone swatches gotta love the good ol PMS (pantone matching system) !!
Looks really awesome!🌈
Wow!!! I love this idea and I hope that I have a studio that I can do this to some day! You’re so inspiring and I LOVE THIS!!! I’m currently doing a Pantone postcard series on my channel where I paint pictures on each one! I never thought to do this with them!!! Love!!!
Wow! So awesome!! & you have all of those drawing pins up so you can design some wellawesome string art!!! Great job Chloe!!
Chloe, I love the way your wall looks. It really turned out fantastic. I did something similar on a much smaller scale, on poster board. I took paint chips I had collected of my favorite colors and glued them on. Love the boxes your chips came in, they would be fun to decorate.
I feel like the Bob Ross Mountain Painting as a background is much better as a background.
Omg this looks amazing I want to do this so badly ❤️
At this point all her walls gonna be full of artworks 🤣 love itt
Turned out super coooool!!!!!!
Soooo amazinggggg
Luvv it!
I woulda reordered them too, like you chose to in the video. I'm really surprised they weren't more gradient-ordered in the box!
Arthur heard your frustration and thought you could use a break! You were truly dedicated despite the setbacks! Amazing work!
I would've cut the bottom white part of the cards off and maybe used a spray adhesive on them instead of thumb tacks. If the bottom parts were just white without writing it would've looked better.
They are iconic Pantone cards to have the name and the color above which is why I kept them :) I think it’s cool that if ever I want to know a specific color to use in a product, I can just look at the wall and see it! Also spray adhesive would’ve been a nightmare to take off, the pin holes are incredibly small!
I love this so pretty!
Chloe I love the way your walls turned out so good
That does look cool! Probably woukld've cut the text part off the cards, though and wasted even more time of my life xD Looks cool, though!
Love it. Job well done. 👏🏻
The wall looks great 👍 I truely admire your dedication. That was hard tedious work but the outcome is awesome. Your family is so sweet to help. Your mom, brother and you should sign it somewhere.
Now you have a cool wall AND if you ever need a certain color you can just go up to your wall and find it!
Also, when it comes to the series that you were talking about possibly making, where you paint every card one at a time, I would recommend that you leave the first card of that color blank and then paint the six afterwards so you can see what the starting color was for all of them
Looks so good!
People may say it looks tacky but I think it’s ART 🖼
Paint stores, watch out.
Chloe is in the business now 👀
SO COOL! PLEASE PAINT ONE A DAY!!
Woop woop yes finally a video from our beloved queen 👸 ✨
I think that looks great!!! Awesome idea! And I like the order you put them in better than the way they were going to be …. It was definitely worth your time and effort.
Looks great!
Love this idea. I might have to steal it at some point. Great job, keep it up!
Hey just curious, I noticed you said the wall dimensions in feet and inches (imperial system) with your accent I assumed you would have done the metric system! Do you typically use the metric system? The result was amazing by the way
I’m English and usually use ft and inches, a lot of people do :) Chloe does live in America, and from what I know, pretty much always has, so it would make sense in that way too
She lives in the United States, (and has for quite a while) which may be why she used imperial measurements
She's English (UK) born, but has been living in the US since she was a kid. She has just never lost the accent like most do.
@@crystl20 I had no idea she lived in America! Thanks for the insight
Amazing! This is such a cool idea!
Even the cards didn’t like their first lay out! Love the second lay out.
So colourful.
Woooooow this looks so cooool!!!
I've always wondered what it would look like it I got loads of paint samples and painted the wall with them :) this gives me an idea! Looks very cool
Pro tip. when putting the tacs on the wall... use a pair of plyers to hold them and the hammer to push them in. If you don't want to use a hammer... a sewing kit has this really neat thing called a thimble.... ;)
Love this!
Ooohhh I didn't know you could get those cards genius! I'm gonna have to get a pack! They would be great for crafting! I love everything about this so perfect for your space!
It looks awesome. Great creative idea.
