From initial look, the adapter might not work…. My plan B would be to get this rack and get Thule easy fit adapter for rack. Hoping I can avoid spending $ on the rack and rack adapter. 🤪.

@@RoadandReel thanks for the response. Tell me about it. I had initially ordered X-caliber 21 in red at a local trek shop in June. They just called off the order last min and gave me the option for Marlin 2022 in red. I didn’t want to wait any longer for 2022 x-caliber so grabbed the marlin.
@@kashifnyc I don't blame you and those bikes are very similar. I think you're only losing the tapered head tube and boost through axle up front, but you're gaining a tubeless setup, which in my opinion is worth it. I don't ride hard enough to justify the tapered head tube option, but I wish my Marlin 7 was tubeless from the factory with better rims.
@@SuperOrion1977 mine was that way when I first set it up, but I loosened everything and was able to get a little more by pulling up on the rack while tightening everything back up. It's still not a lot, but it doesn't catch dirt and mud like it was originally doing.

I have to be nitpicky here. You should have bought the "Disk" version of this rack for a better fit and clearance. The rack is supposed to be perfectly level. The support rods should be cut roughly 3/4" going past the locking bolt and you use the little rubbers to hide those cuts.
That's good to know! I bought this one in the peak of the pandemic and supply chain issues, so I was happy to get anything at that time. I could change it in the future, but I'm really happy with how it's working so far. No problem with the nitpicking especially if it helps someone else. 👍

How much space you have between the tire and rack, mine is very little like less than an inch.

Well dang. Your L size rack came with much longer rods than mine did. Mine are about 1" to short to make rack level.
Ah, that's a shame! Is it possible to pivot the rack itself or will that interfere with the tire?

Yeah, they lock right in. They seem really stable and I don't think they'll go anywhere. The rack hasn't budged one bit, either.
Was there little plastic screws or block off plate where the kickstand was supposed to go into?
I didn't have any for the kickstand, but I did have some where the bike rack mounted.
Does it fit a little snug? do you have to pry it open a bit?
Which part? The rack? I pulled the supports out a bit to get them on the frame, but nothing extreme.
I got the same stand for my Trek but the screws are size too thick.
That's interesting. I bet they sent the wrong ones. I have found quality control to be the worst part of buying off brand products.
