  • My check engine light has been on due to an oxygen sensor since I got the car a few years ago. It’s not a problem but it gets on my nerves. I couldn’t fit a regular spacer so I ordered a 45° one on Amazon and installed it in this video

That should fix it. My Dak had a rattling Cat many moons ago. A section of pipe with 2 clamps & a Spark plug spacer was all I needed after sawing the Cat out. I've seen a few late model 5.0 Mustang guys do it the easy way blowing sparks out the back till the Cats are hollow :-)

I may get rid of the cat yet. It’s a bit noisy and we don’t have emissions testing where I live

@@BruceLyeg Ya the emissions testing was a royal pain. Duval quit testing after the new Millennium. Unfortunately my 76 F100 Straight six 300ci wouldn't pass in 93. A guy saw it sitting in my yard & wanted to buy it. I told him about a plug fouling issue it had on cyl 5 or 6. He offered me more than it was worth. I saw eem at 7/11 about 6 months later & he said it finally shattered the piston. I had aquired a 76 Toyota Corona Wagon dirt cheap that wouldn't pass emissions either. All it needed was valve guide seals. That was a cool little car. I gave it to my Sister & it got her thru some hard times. I wish I'd gotten it back from her when she was done with it. The RWD Toyotas are quite collectible now -:)

Handy trick. I’ve used the plug defouler before. Works most the time

Interesting video Bruce, hopefully that spacer fixes the problem for you - that car lift makes jobs like this easier for sure - thanks and cheers

Thanks Ed. The code never came back, so far so good. I absolutely love my lift. I got lucky when I found it on Facebook marketplace

How's she goin'? Don't buy any lotto tickets Bruce. LOL Man you used all your luck with this sensor coming out so easy eh!! I thought that would have almost been welded in there. Exhaust parts don't usually come apart that easy! I hope this works for ya buddy!! Take 'er easy!!

You’re not kidding Mike. I’ve never had any part of an exhaust come undone that easily. Been a few days and the check engine light hasn’t came back on

Thanks Jason. Once I cleared the codes it hasn’t returned. We get plenty of rust here. They spray calcium chloride all over the roads so much that lamp posts are rusting out from the bottom and falling on cars. The city has had to settle numerous lawsuits. I have no idea why this was so easy to loosen. I’ve had the car for about four years and other than putting a muffler on it I’ve never touched the exhaust
