    Dan, thanks for these videos! I appreciate that you can hit on important management info clearly and concisely. I'm getting myself ready to start my own photo business, and I am very interested in how you handle accounts and file management. I know about Lightroom for keeping track of photos and all, but I'm wondering about invoices, billing, releases, etc. Can you do an explainer on that? Thanks!!

    Hi Dan all very helpful information thanks. One question for now .... do you get your clients to sign a Model Release to enable you to use their image on your website or is it just a verbal agreement? If yes do you give them a discount?

    • @DanCantero
      @DanCantero  Před 6 měsíci

      Good question. What I normally do is a verbal agreement. No discount. Instead I offer them an extra image (of my choice) if they allow me to feature it on my website. This way I get to pick the image myself. Never been an issue so far. Hope that helps.

    Hey Dan, great information, what do you think about cold emailing, like sending a prospective client a headshot page from your website, so far not much luck with this, but do you think it's a viable solution? will put your discussion points to work from now on, especially the LinkedIn info and see how I go, keep up the great information.

    • @DanCantero
      @DanCantero  Před rokem +1

      Hey Rod, cold email has a pretty low return but it's still worth doing in my opinion. Typically, (I should have mentioned this in the video) I will always try to phone first to let them know that I am going to be sending something to them. This will give you a much better return. I've measured the stats for cold email when using mail chimp. My open rate is 43% which means that more than half won't even open the email. But calling them first and letting them know that you will be sending them something helps to bring that number up. Getting on the phone is always the first option. Email should be used when you've tried to call several times and they won't answer. For most people don't like cold calling. I found it takes 3 -4 calls before you get over it. :-)

    Mr. Cantero, what is your opinion to install monitor beside camera, so the client can see himself in times of shooting?

    • @DanCantero
      @DanCantero  Před rokem +1

      I've actually tried this but the client kept looking at the monitor and was distracted so I don't use it any more. Also, they saw not only the good shots but the bad ones too. What I do now is I have the monitor next to the camera but only facing me. Every 10 or 15 minutes I stop shooting and bring them around to have a look at some of the shots. Hope that helps
