Think the ref may have been trying to play advantage. Looks like the guy started fouling him at the point where the free kick was eventually taken. I’d say fair play to the ref for once. Not often you’d say that about Scottish referees mind
The initial foul was exactly where the ref put the ball. Good refereeing to try to see if any advantage came to the attacker. None. Brought game back to place of first foul.

Would VAR even be in the Scottish cup? If it’s in the premiership next year then could you use VAR in a competition where all the clubs and all the ties don’t have it. I’m not against VAR but if it’s going to cost too much why not improve the referees for a fraction of the cost.

Players, top players that is, are constantly improving and consistently maintaining a high professional level.
Young Dembele needs to learn that his small stature and speed give him a huge advantage on a field where most players tower over him, and that(like i said) he has his man beat before they realise it, giving him an edge that he needs to learn to take advantage of.

the standard of teams outside of Rangers and Celtic this season in the SPL is pretty poor. 3-0 win for Rangers on Sunday, and another 3-0 win for Celtic today. realistically whoever wins the OF semi will win the cup.
Not all the time we beat celtic in the semi a few years ago n went on to lose in the final unfortunately

I thought same . But the last goal angle from behind the net shows the ball does change direction, so GG got the slightest touch
I’m giving it to GG because Dembele has been wanting away before he got injured reminds me of that wee screwball Izzy to light weight and not strong enough jinky was as strong as any player all those really small players must be exceptionally strong to make it
You can kind of see it from the original angle of the game the ball is heading slightly off track of the goal but then get back on target.

Celtic need a spending limit, then games would actually be winnable for other scorttish teams
There is a spending cap under the rules, it’s to do with a percentage of you revenue over a 3 year period. Problem for other Scottish teams is Celtics revenue is on a different level from the others (same could be said for Rangers) it would take a complete restructuring of the Scottish leagues, more forward thinking in terms of tv/online rights and advertising just to make other teams competitive. The old firm would still be far and away too good for the rest of the teams though because their turn over is so much higher
Think it’s more down to big Ange the players he has brought in only cost a few million so your commitment doesn’t make sense don’t think it would help if Celtic and Rangers where as rubbish as the rest of the teams
