A lot of bourbon accounts a lot of people come across as either pretentious or just douchey. Love these guys because it’s just wholesome fun and humble
Same here. I've turned away from any number of channels because the people were acting instead of being themselves.
I did a video (Thoroughly Amateur™️ 🙂) on channels I like, and SLB Drinks is one I mentioned.
These are fun. Personally, I prefer the randomness of Rebecca picking unaided.
I’m thinking the same
guessing the proof for an extra point might be a good addition
I would recommend looking up the MSRP on the bottles. I feel like that would be the most consistent way to look at pricing. Love these videos!
“Do peaches grow on trees?” 😂
"Last I checked" 🤣
Right?! 😂🤪
Was gonna say the same thing.
Peaches come in a can, they were put there by a man... In a factory downtown
@@donfingers3320 million of peaches!!🍑
This is my favorite whiskey review channel. Love the family effect and interactions. I respect your viewpoints and do like this price is right format.
New game show idea. Both of you have $100 to wager. There are 6 blind bottles you taste and then bid on. Both must end with 3 bottles and minimum bid for a bottle is $15. That way you can go a bit crazy on a bottle but you can’t spend it all. Then who has the better lineup.
awesome idea
Ok. That’s brilliant.
Kinda like the bourbon version of fantasy football.
This sounds fun! 🥃
@Thebourbongod40 Not really...because at least you know who the player is, lol.
JT Melek small batch is $45.99 and the high proof is $59.99
$38 in South LA (Baton Rouge)
Fun twist, calculate the overall distance from the retail price for all three. If we take this into account, especially with Kurt's estimate with the 2XO, Trent wins by a landslide. Just a thought.
I'd like to see a blind where the bottles are sitting out and you have to match what's in the glass to the bottles.
“Price is Flight!”
why don’t you guys use your app for the prices?
That’s what I thought as well or maybe using the Distiller app. There was wine searcher that I used before. I was thinking Total Wine app maybe?
White board was a fantastic idea. This video was so much fun to watch.
Love this series. Keep em coming.
Love the price is right game!! Please keep them coming
I like this pricing competition... keeps it real
What I Did for my collection is I took a sharpie and wrote the MSRP on the bottom of the bottles in my cabinet
Love the white boards. Thanks guys. Enjoyed as always.
Did he really ask if peaches grow on trees??? LOL Boy needs to get out more!!!
Trent is hilarious 😂 fun show!
Love the new show idea.for Friday's. Keep up the great work guys.
9:19 Trenton, the gaps in your knowledge continually astound me. 😂
17:16 It might not work for y'all, but I never have more than a dozen bottles on hand at any given time, and usually less, and this works for me. I have some markers that use metallic ink - the same that distillers use to autograph bottles - and when I bring something home I write on the bottle itself the date the before tax price, and where I got it. That way if I'm doing a video and need to know the price it's right there. 🙂
Well this makes the friday work day a little better! Cheers! 😊😊
Love this format, you could do the price reveal for each bottle as you go to ratchet up the pressure on the last tasting.
Loved the changes
Another fun video, well done
This is a much better product for the viewer. Great job
LOL, do peaches grow on trees? Last time I checked. Epic!!!
These are fun. Keep it up.
white board is perfect!
JT Melleck small batch is $44.99 MSRP, Kurt wins.
Goes to show that what you like consistently is how you should choose your preferences.
Another fun one. Since the rules are in flux, how about 2 points for price and 1 point for proof? Closest without going over gets it. Reveal the price and proof before moving to the next bottle.
These are fun no matter how the rules end up
You pretty much reinforced my position on 2XO. Thank you. I'm not a fan at all. But drink what you like people!
I suggest using total wine and binnys as a decent baseline price. They are typically close to MSRP
I’m a few towns away from you guys and have a peach tree! Maybe time for Trenton to explore some gardening
Gentlemen, the white boards are a great addition. But I think you gotta do the reveal in the moment!! You both guess then we get to see the price and the bottle with an instant score and reaction while it’s fresh. Also keeps the game more interesting. Imagine the pressure of the 3rd pour if the score is 1-1. Otherwise, you’re going back through all the pours at the end from memory, and the moment is kinda lost IMO.
FYI, lots of peaches grown in Southern Indiana! You don’t need to go to Georgia for that!
1:40 I thought I was witnessing a medical emergency with Trent.
Oh my! Love your recommendations...if I may recommend Blue Run Reflection 1. Nice and spicey and hits a bit higher than the proof on the label. I picked up bottles of that and the James E. Pepper today and they are both a treat.
Feel better Kurt!
Hey guys! We are on a pilgrimage to Louisville to visit distilleries. Got to Wild Turkey and met Jimmy Russell. Great tour, great tasting, and great person! Love Wild Turkey!
Hey guys been watching for awhile now and recently found out your from nwi! Saw that you guys made an appearance at a liquor store I frequent, sorry I missed you guys!
Yes to the whiteboard.
Idk if anyone has already said it but Bourbon Outfitter has most bottles MSRPs and total wine and BevMo usually show the MSRP even when out of stock
The thumbnail 😂
Haha 2X0 is wildly overpriced for what it is glad that fact shown through on this
Trent using the wipe board reminds me of a crazy mind reading magician from X Factor😅😅😅
Do peaches grow on trees?
Last I checked.
😂 Literally had a lol moment, these are some of the most fun watching whiskey reviews
New Hampshire State Liquors has an app with pricing that is very close ! I always check them when I decide to buy something new!
Other youtube tasters are saying that doing a blind doesn't work like you would expect. Essentially you can go taste blind if one bottle has an overkill taste and it cause the next bottle to taste different. Essentially a pallet killer can goof the tastes of ones that are milder.
It's funny how the palate and the mind can play games with you. One day a particular whiskey tastes fantastic, and the next day you find it to be disappointing. Especially in blinds, you can try something and form an opinion and then, when the identity of the sip is revealed, you can suddenly pick up different notes. At any rate, these are a lot of fun to watch.
So true
White board was fun
Use Total Wine or a similar retailer as a guide for prices to stay consistent.
From one of your other happy Friday Guess the price I discovered and bought and now really like was Jim Beam Black Label 7 yr, which I can get for $20.00 I like it neat.. I also enjoy Rittenhous for my mixers too. Again brought to my attention by SLB.
This might sound cheap but my go to is Evan Williams and coca cola. I should do a step up or something better quality...any suggestions?
Yes we here in Indiana claim Trent as one of our own no matter what. “Do peaches grow on trees?” I will be drinking to that one later.
Whiteboard is perfect, not that I don’t trust you…….but holds you to a higher standard
Here’s a thought. Use your own data on only drams to determine SRP.
would love to see a video at Trenton's house
I may be the only viewer who doesn’t drink any whiskey however I enjoy your programs
Did you do a Still Austin pick. If so how may I obtain a bottle?
Equal distance form price, go with whoever is closer to secondary..which is probably the higher one
Take a breath, take a sip then exhale when you swallow and the heat goes away! Learned this from a distillery
It’s funny that you mention this. I just know that you don’t breath in while you take the sip. I’ve coughed and blew out what I was sipping when I started. Learning lesson…..
When you Google the price, add MSRP to the end of the search. For example, searcing for JT Meleck Small Batch Whiskey MSRP shows that $45 is the suggested retail price.
2 minutes in, I hope they get the rules right lol. Closest without going over, if both are over, then the closest gets the point guys!
I actually prefer just whoever is closest. Shouldn’t matter if you go over. Only if you knew what you were drinking at the end of the day. But just my opinion
Why aren’t you guys using your app only drams for the pricing instead of google
The SLB price is right.
Do peaches grow on trees? LMAO
Georgia, Michigan says hold my beer.
Is it possible to get the MSRP directly from their websites since retail prices can vary widely?
What Still Austin do you recommend?
JT Meleck is $45 spot on nationally.
I wonder how much had already been consumed before this video to inspire the peach question 😂
Maybe you should try going to the makers web site to see what the suggested retail price is.
Should be a price is right rule, closest without going over..... "$1 BOB"
I just bought Clyde Mays for $35... For that price it was not bad.
Just an idea to change things up a bit; why not keep track of the cumulative price difference between the guesses and agreed upon SRP. At the end of the three rounds, whoever is closest in that cumulative dollar amount wins the game. I know this lends another level of complexity, but it also makes it a lot more accurate. I don't know how much effort you want to put into these things, though.
Yeah we like these :) Now all you need is a bourbon maker to send you a sample so you can price for them without knowing anything about it. Then share the feedback at the end :)
I really enjoy your videos. Maybe keep the price guesses to dollars only. (No cents)
JT Melleck small batch MSRP is 42.99
Why not have the judges use the “Only Drams” app that Trenton literally created to assist with bottle valuation?
I was very unimpressed by 2xo. $40 whiskeys that cost way more than that.
How about naming this "The Bourbon Showcase"
You could call it "Glen Closest".or The Price is Rye".
Yep it is weird how you can prefer one whiskey or another one and be to totally different another day.
Would like to see a blind that includes both Jim Beam single barrel and the new JB Black 7 year.
You should just use Binnys and Total Wine as your price checks. I mean you are in Valpo so basically a suburb of Chicago, so Binnys is close to you, and you have Total Wine.
Now I know why the Innkeepers blend has been put on sale in my area. Guess it isn’t that good.
Very underwhelming imo
Keep the white boards , I loved them…
Whenever a new bottle is brought into the basement, you could write the price on it with a sharpie marker on the bottom of the bottle
msrp 42.99 here in fl jt meelek
The Clyde May 6 to me tastes like 110 pf old fashion, pour it on a big ice block and toss in a cherry.
You should google , Michigan state minimum price that should be about as close as you can get
For checking the price that is.
we have clyde mays for 23.99 where i work.
At 9am today Ohio released Blantons Gold 149.00 blantons straight from the barrel 159.00 and Elmer T Lee 49.99 unfortunately i didn’t pick anything up due to my pay period 😔😔 maybe another time.
My pet theory is that you guys mixed up the Peerless Double Oak and 2XO Innkeeper's Blend pours in that double oak blind that the 2XO won and Peerless finished last in. Explains that result and this one.
Idk man i completely agree with them on 2xo
Have you guys ever considered getting some kind of sticker gun to sticker bottles with the price you paid, and maybe the date you bought it? It might help with this new game...
Some series name ideas:
