    A lot of bourbon accounts a lot of people come across as either pretentious or just douchey. Love these guys because it’s just wholesome fun and humble

      Same here. I've turned away from any number of channels because the people were acting instead of being themselves.
      I did a video (Thoroughly Amateur™️ 🙂) on channels I like, and SLB Drinks is one I mentioned.

    New game show idea. Both of you have $100 to wager. There are 6 blind bottles you taste and then bid on. Both must end with 3 bottles and minimum bid for a bottle is $15. That way you can go a bit crazy on a bottle but you can’t spend it all. Then who has the better lineup.

    9:19 Trenton, the gaps in your knowledge continually astound me. 😂
    17:16 It might not work for y'all, but I never have more than a dozen bottles on hand at any given time, and usually less, and this works for me. I have some markers that use metallic ink - the same that distillers use to autograph bottles - and when I bring something home I write on the bottle itself the date the before tax price, and where I got it. That way if I'm doing a video and need to know the price it's right there. 🙂

    Gentlemen, the white boards are a great addition. But I think you gotta do the reveal in the moment!! You both guess then we get to see the price and the bottle with an instant score and reaction while it’s fresh. Also keeps the game more interesting. Imagine the pressure of the 3rd pour if the score is 1-1. Otherwise, you’re going back through all the pours at the end from memory, and the moment is kinda lost IMO.

    Other youtube tasters are saying that doing a blind doesn't work like you would expect. Essentially you can go taste blind if one bottle has an overkill taste and it cause the next bottle to taste different. Essentially a pallet killer can goof the tastes of ones that are milder.

  • @paulhendershot111
    @paulhendershot111 Před 6 dny

    It's funny how the palate and the mind can play games with you. One day a particular whiskey tastes fantastic, and the next day you find it to be disappointing. Especially in blinds, you can try something and form an opinion and then, when the identity of the sip is revealed, you can suddenly pick up different notes. At any rate, these are a lot of fun to watch.

    Just an idea to change things up a bit; why not keep track of the cumulative price difference between the guesses and agreed upon SRP. At the end of the three rounds, whoever is closest in that cumulative dollar amount wins the game. I know this lends another level of complexity, but it also makes it a lot more accurate. I don't know how much effort you want to put into these things, though.
