I BOUGHT A CHEAP 5 CHANNEL AMP ON EBAY SET IT UP ON THE BENCH AND RAN ALL 5 CHANNELS FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF. THE AMP WAS SO HOT , I COULDN'T TOUCH IT . POWERED IT DOWN AND TRIED TO POWER IT UP AFTER IT COOLED AND IT WENT TO PROTECT AND STAYED THERE . I CHECKED THE PARTS YOU REPLACED AND WOULDN'T YOU KNOW ? CONSTANT BEEP ON TWO OF THE SAME DIODES. PLUS , THE LITTLE HOLD DOWN WASN'T SCREWED DOWN PROPERLY AND THERE WAS A GAP BETWEEN THE THERMAL PASTE . ONLY TWO WERE BAD AND ITS ONLY 8$ FREE SHIPPING TO FIX... THANKS FOR THE VIDEO IT WAS A SURE HELP.
I have the same amplifier and it has the protection mode light on for 3 seconds and then switch the normal green bulb on for one second and then back to red, just goes back and forth like that. I tested everything like you did and it all tests good. Could you give me any pointers as to what else to try?
Hi Sir, quick question I accidentally plugged the ground and Power in reverse I saw Sparks when I put the ground in the power cable in the ground. Did it again this time no sparks. Fuse good. could you please be so kind and tell me what steps to take next should I check for a protection diode across the + & - like ameture radio amps have. Should I try hooking it up the right way and see what happens I'm afraid to do so in case I damage it if it isn't already damaged. let me know please bro thank you very much. It's old school crunch p-1000 1k rms 5 ch amp 70 amp fuse. Fyi: the remote was not plunged in.
There are almost always protection diodes inside most electronic motherboard especially amplifiers. Check the power line 12v constant and there you will notice a big diode across the positive and negative terminals. Check for forward and reverse voltage drop there with a multimeter on the diode scale. Next check PMIC if it is receiving the correct turn on voltages.

I'm having the protection mode problem in my ar4000d as well, I'll test it out tomorrow hoping this is the issue so I'll fix it with your video
