Any specialty techniques once’s a fish that powerful hits the surf, the outgoing surf? I imagine if it tried to run right with a strong pull out it could pop your line real quick (or yank ya in).

Did they just drop the bait, or do it seaulcer style and have the line attached to a out rigger connector and lower it in
Hi Oyvey.. My knowledge is limited in the area of different methods various drones use to deliver a bait or lure from shore. I can confirm a Sky-Rigger from Seaulcer was used in this case attached to a Phantom 4. *Updated reply*

They do pass the Gold Coast and breakwalls/rocky headlands on their journey north and south though they seem to be more accessible land based over the border in Northern NSW. Such as Hastings Point where we fished. Nothing wrong with an early morning venture though off one of the breakwalls or beaches on the Gold Coast during the Longtail run.

It was my mates rod. I think he was running 50lb mono. He may have mentioned the reel during the episode.

What drone is that? I want one that is heavy enough for shark bait
don't really understand the point? The drone drops the bait on top of the fish and then you exhaust the fish puliing it in from a long way out - may or may not survive. Then you you release? No thrill in the chase - all of the chance tken out. May as well fish in a fish farm.

Hate to be the oil in the water, but this must stop. The threat to an already diminishing species is too great to add another form of take. I'm all for "spotting" but the take must be hand and rod.

I've got Mavic Air 2 and want to give it a go drone fishing.
It's great to be outdoors in the sun, saltwater and catch something like this from a beach, which was almost impossible before.
Did you make this viewing visor to look at phone in sunny conditions, or did you buy it?
