In July 2021, Libertines frontman Peter Doherty took part in an arts project in collaboration with HMP Barlinnie in Glasgow, and the resulting artworks were displayed in an exhibition later in the year.

Peter gives me so much hope. He really does. I've been struggling with addiction for 24 years and I'm the same age. And although I'm no artist I lived the same shambolic life of drugs drink in excess, verging on insanity. I can't live this life anymore so I'm making some real changes to the way i go forward. Seeing Peter healthy gives more hope than ever. Thanks peter.

That's really inspiring... This dude... I was inspired by him to get drunk before and now also I'm inspired to change my life and staying sober with Peter. Awesome dude
After the amount of heroin he has done to have not taken it for over 2 years is a phenomenal achievement!! And this art project is a brilliant idea. Well done Pete
Its actually not that much of an achievement if you have methadone, as you never go through withdrawals

@@mattiemclean9882 Of course it’s still an achievement? Do you think the only reason people are addicts is because they don’t want to go through withdrawal? You’re simplifying the sickness of addiction to a colossal degree there.

I'm not familiar with much of his music, but good on Pete for trying to help others in the best way he knows.
I'm in love with his music and agree with you, he's a very kind guy, also intelligent for sure.
His music is incredible, timeless, widely acclaimed, very much a reflection of British culture sonically and lyrically and guaranteed to get any club jumping without being anywhere near dance music; with The Libertines like Amy Winehouse said “that was London for a real spell”. ‘Can’t Stand Me Now’, ‘Time for Heroes’, ‘Don’t Look Back into the Sun’, ‘What a Waster’, classics. Also the song he wrote for Amy ‘Flags of The Old Regime’ is so beautiful and evocative, he has provided comfort and joy to many millions of people.

Have been on heroin 26 year's, anyone who has a break from it or can kick it I admire,so so hard to be normal, crazy train ride, hard to get of.people don't understand it good luck to anyone who can do it, mentally exhausted from it.
