I watched one of your videos a while back where you were talking about your zipper foot. You mentioned that it had a rough bottom that snagged your material. I used to make etched metal nameplates. I learned that you can use sandpaper on your rough metal to smooth it and polish it. Start with a medium sandpaper on the rough spots on your zipper foot. If you don't feel the burr coming off go to a slightly courser sandpaper. I'd be careful about using sandpaper that is too course because you could put grooves in your metal if the metal is too soft. Once you have the metal the way you want it move to an increasingly finer sandpaper to put a polish on your foot. It's really not difficult and shouldn't harm your foot.

I found your version of this wallet so much easier than the original, and the whole finish was so much neater,I take your point about the zipper, the gap isn’t quite deep enough, I only had no 5 to hand, so I cut the gap just a smidgen bigger and it worked fine
Thank you for this very clear tutorial❤

Thank you for this tutorial. That has to be the easiest card slot application. I've avoided making wallets because of the card slots. You're so encouraging. Have a fabulous holiday.

Thank you for simplifying the card slot process! I generally avoid patterns with slots but this might make them doable lol

Cute wallet. My only issue would be I’d like to see a zipper where money goes.

I'm getting ready to sew this pattern up so am watching your tutorial again (and again, and again!).. I'm curious whether the two lines of stitching on the ends of your wallet allow enough room for bills?

Hear me out, I think you should redo this intro. It'll be interesting to see how much the kids have grown. This wallet came together pretty fast. Add to cart.
