- Atticus had a glow up in 2024! The User Interface (UI) of the popular book writing and formatting software was updated to prepare for major game-changing new features yet to come. In this clip of a livestream replay, Monique Danielle walksauthors thorugh all the updates and the new look of Atticus.
If you don't have your copy of Atticus yet, this is a great time to jump in! Learn more and Get Started: atticus.io
Thank you, Monique, for well-designed, smoothly delivered presentations. Bought Atticus. Own it. Still getting my courage up to put my first toe in the Atticus pond. Dread the idea of jumping in and messing up and then having to begin all over again. First person ever to go through this, I’m sure. Thanks again.
We're so happy you've joined the ranks of Atticus Authors! Please don't be nervous - it's easier to use than you think, and starting over is never a problem if you need to! I hope you enjoy!
You guys are doing a great job - Atticus has come a long way since its launch. Congrats to y'all
Thanks so much!
The new glow up is amazing! Everything way more clean. Huge update. Thanks for this :D
So glad you like it! Thanks for being such a great supporter!
This video added red circles in places you were referring to. Thanks for that!! Sometimes I can't see where your mouse icon is as you introduce stuff. Great job! Thanks a lot for these videos.
Thanks! I'm trying to improve with the new tutorials - I really appreciate your feedback!
I love Atticus, It is a life changing software, no kidding.
So glad you're loving it!
@@AtticusWriter When I write in eBook format, do i use chapters or use a separate all on one page??
@@shnrbtlle18 If your book has chapters, you'll want to use chapters in Atticus. When it exports, it will automatically convert it to reflowable layout. I hope that helps!
@@AtticusWriter It does, that is how I am doing it now, I just wanted to make sure it was right. thank you very much for the fast response, that is so appreciated.
You're so welcome!@@shnrbtlle18
Love it! I love the new changes
Thanks so much!
loving this app!
That's fantastic!
Thank you for the overview. I am considering a change to Atticus. Do the 3-dot drop down menus on each chapter have the same function as the one next to the "Add new chapter" button, or are there other options for the chapters? I'm mostly curious if there's a lower level than Chapter, specifically a scene level? Or is the *** signal to be used during the writing process, like it is for imports?
Yes they do have different options, but you're correct, the * in Atticus will create scenes for you, which you can work on just as that scene alone, or as a part of the chapter as a whole. If you try it out and have any trouble, you're always welcome to write into support and we''ll help out!
Hi Monique, I am interested in purchasing Atticus. I write historical novels. I use roman numerals for my chapter headings, 'Chapter XV' etc. I do not see a way to alter the Chapter Headings from Chapter One to an alternative. Is there a solution to this? Regards Mike
You can turn off the automatic chapter numbering and just enter the chapter numbers into the Chapter Title location, so they can be anything you'd like them to be! I hope that helps!
You NEED to add 2-factor authentication ASAP!!!
We appreciate your feedback and will take that into consideration
is there a way to organize my books in Atticus? I tend to write a lot of shorter novellas, so I have a lot of books in my dashboard, some of which are completed, so I'd love to be able to categorize my books in categories such as published, in progress, etc.
In the Book Details you can set a Project or a Version, and then from your Home dashboard click on My Books (top center) and you can filter by searching for that Project or Version. I hope that helps!
It would be awesome to interface with Novelcrafter.. so we can write and export directly to Atticus..
Thanks for sharing!
Is there any information on using Atticus on an iPad?
I'm curious too. So far it works a thousand times better on my tiny iPhone, but I've only used the Writing section.
We don't have any tutorials on this specifically (maybe in the future!) but it should work mostly the same. We do recommend using through the browser, and working horizontally helps fit more on the small screen size. If you're having any specific issues, please feel welcome to write into our support email!
I installed it as a persistent web app with Safari. Oddly enough, it works best vertical with the tiny SE2. The elements didn’t scale as well for me in Chrome.
