For those asking "where's Jimmy?", the band had played in the UK the weekend preceding this show and Jimmy tested positive for COVID-19 while they were there. He was forced to quarantine while the rest of the band returned to the US to continue the scheduled tour. They brought Brian back to fill in until Jimmy is recovered and able to come back across the pond.

That guitar tone is a bit of mystery for me still. I've reached similar sounds when rolling the tone off in a higher gain/crunch settings on various amps but there's some specific details do it. Very much mids.
These other comments are correct, roll the tone all the way back, switch over to bridge and play through a solid state head. I've seen Jim and Brian set up their gear many times. Oh, but like the other comment said, it's in the hands that play it more than anything.
any like solid state amp that has a good amount of gain and just turn the volume up way too loud put everything at ten aswell besides the mids put at like 8
The old days Jimmy used a randall head cranked all the way up with a boss SD-1 and nothing else, also rolled off the tone. Now he just uses an ampeg ss150 head and plus straight in, and cranks all the eq cept the mids which is like almost maxed out. Also keep in mind he's been using the same cab with really old V30 speakers in it for like 20 years.

But Aaron isn't on drums replaced by Will Ferrell, and most of all the songs have been cut in half right before the good parts come in.... Goddamn guys. What in actual fuck.

Was just at the show in Mechanicsburg PA on 5/11 & Jimmy was back & Brian also....was great to see them with both....

Good transistor amp + drive low gain + bridge pickup w tone at zero. Probably the secret is in the hands.
