This is goign to be tough for Indiana I think. Indiana's biggest strength is their #2 offence, and they just happen to be going up against the only team in the league who had a better offense then they did.
On the other end the Celtics were the #2 defence while the Pacers were somethingh like 22nd. So the Celtics have a small advantage on offence, a huge advantage on defence, and a huge edge on the boards (Celtics are 3rd in the playoffs in rebounding, Pacers are 12th).
The only thing I see with Indiana that could give Boston trouble is size, as Boston does have a history of struggling against skilled bigs. With Porzingis out especially the Celtics are a pretty small team, so Turner and Siakam could potentially give them some trouble inside. I'm not too worried about Turner - he can get points, but he's never goign to be that guy who is a threat to give you 20-25 a night.
Siakam is though.
I agree with a lot of analysts that Tatum's play will be very important in this series - except I don't think they need his offence. Quite the opposite actually. One of the biggest keys for the Celtics is goign to be how well Tatum can impact the game on defence and on the boards. If Tatum can play quality defence and limit Siakam's offensive impact AND also continue to bring in double figure rebouds then it's going to be REALLY hard for Indiana to win.
Haliburton can score sure, but he's already going to have his hands full dealing with Jrue and White on the perimeter, and the Pacer's success really depends more on his ability to get other guys going. Haliburton can score 30 every night and it wont matter if the Cetlics can shut everybody else down.
This nesmith guy could work with the C's, can we trade for that dude?
