Jack Hildebrand you can enlist with a GED and 15 college credits as long as they are 100 or above classes. Pretty much puts you at the same level as someone with a high school diploma. I had to do it.
Yeah I completely forgot about that option, I do not know anyone who got in with a GED.

I'm not in the military (But plan to be at the age of 20) but I've had multiple family members in the military (Mostly US Army but some US Marines) and I've heard the rank of a PV2 or Private (With Insignia) referred to as a Private 2nd Class. I think the Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts will be over by the time you've signed up, the next war could be against a more lethal enemy like Russia or China.
lol nope man. And believe it or not, we fight better in a more conventional war (something like Russia and China...) than we do against the Taliban and other insurgents. Its much easier to guess what the enemy is going to do in a conventional war than guess what an enemy is going to do in a war against insurgencies, guerilla warfare is insanely hard to fight against. Hence why we are still in Afghanistan.

They like sending young guys out because they are fearless and think they can conquoer the world. But a veteran that has fought in previous more bloody and deadly wars has seen and heard hundreds of their men dying in front of them and probably want to run back. Vets have ptsd especially from WW2, watch footage from that day and you’ll have it without even being there. The navy seals trained over a year and died the second they stepped out of the boat we almost did make it across Omaha beach.

@mcluvinoj Private Second class means he wasn't promoted during basic training.They are just doing they're jobs.I also respect you because your a serviceman.I've never been deployed overseas apart from a 6 month peacekeeping stint in Timor Leste as head Chef(Back then I was a LCpl NZ Army 1st Logistics Company Auck Regt),but I do think that the Iraqi police force has more funding,better training are better equipment.

Ok first of all these are army soldiers, so there is no private 2nd class, it's PVT (E-1) and PV2 (E-2). they are both simply private. When I was an E-2 I just said I was a private or PV2.
Private second class is an accepted name for E2 rank. It's rarely ever used but even the army website has E-2 listed as second class
