2002 Polaris Ranger 500 Rear Differential Stripped Axle Spline Rebuild

  • Hey y'all. This is probably one of the coolest projects I have worked on this year! The customer stated that 2wd made a grinding noise and 4wd was the only way it would move. The splines were stripped on the right side stub shaft and mating axle. In this video I show a solution that should last another 20 years! I hope you enjoy. :)

    Was pretty good overall was suprised you didnt put new seals while inside,but if there still flexy n soft i suppose no harm or foul should be fine.i was able to follow along fine but pitcure or view seemed blurry or foggy.otherwise valuable footage n process!!snooky pa.big bear 350 owner.😊😊😊😊😊

      I actually did replace the seals I just didn’t bother to show that part. 😎

      @@BrapStuff Parts came in and I was able to repair the axles know problem. I used the same weld on hub you did. I ended up doing the shafts myself by hand. I started out by putting one in my vice horizontally and level with about 1/8 in. sticking up above the top of the jaws. I then used a hand grinder to take it down to even with the top of the jaws. Now that I had one square flat surface I used my belt sander to get the other three sides. Taking it down just a little at a time and using a caliper it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.
