My best friend and i created a playlist with all the new songs we found and tought the other one may like as well, and after he introduce me this band i added this song to the playlist, but he wasn´t sure if he liked it because he taught it was a love song and he only wanted God centered songs in the playlist. Now he and i dont talk anymore and everytime i hear this song i can´t help but thinking about think and cry. Paradoxically it expresses exactly how i feel about him now. I really miss him :(

seems like a pretty cut-and-dry love song.
Right. The whole time I was picturing Jesus at the doorstep with the key that didn’t work anymore. It reminded me of the verse that talks about Jesus knocking, and whoever sees and opens the door He will come in and eat with them.
More, a house on the hills reminds me of the new Jerusalem. A city on a hill. Who’s paying the bills? Jesus paid!
This is just what I thought, but it could simply be a love song about someone else 🤷♀️

I definitely agree with you but the only thing I question then is when it says "but not so easy to trust you". I feel like even though we mess up, God still trusts us.
