Razor Dirt Bike Review (MX125, MX350, MX/SX500, and MX650) - All Within One View

  • I couldn't for the life of me find a review of multiple different Razor dirt bikes (or dirt rockets) that showed all of them in one view or frame. Here are five of them all side by side with our kiddos riding them. Kids ages are 12, 9, 7, and 3. Razor's suggested age seem overly conservative- so do with this what you want.

    Just an update on these a few months later: our 3 year old is off the 125 and is now riding the mx350. We have had only had one maintenance issue on any of them. I was riding the mx650 (I weigh around 180 lbs) and doing some jumps the kids made. Hard landing broke the chain tensioner spring. Ordered one off of Amazon for a few bucks and it's a super easy repair. These bikes are some of the highest return on fun money we've purchased for our kids (with the only close competition being the trampoline). High, high recommendation. Just make sure you get the right size for your kid.

      Do you have any tips on how to teach my 4-year old to ride his mx125? He’s had it since May and barely rides it. I think it’s not as fun for him because I put training wheels on it since he couldn’t balance it. Should I take the training wheels off and just let him experiment himself (where he falls but hopefully figures it out)?

    • @ambermiddelfart630
      @ambermiddelfart630 Před 2 lety +1

      Hi,
      ! Single Mom here and my son has the mx125, but doesn’t ever ride it (he’s 4). I put training wheels on it and think I need to take them off. Should I just let him ride it in the grass and let him fall? I dont know how to tesch him.

    • @jeremywalter5026
      @jeremywalter5026  Před 2 lety +3

      @@ambermiddelfart630 Hmm ... yeah, I feel I'm taking a degree of liability telling you NOT to use the training wheels ... but it worked for us. Our 3 year old wasn't riding a bicycle w/o training wheels, and he picked it up on the mx125 after a few days. We would ride it in the grass and he'd practice stopping and putting his feet down. I'd hold the seat as he would get started on it and he took a few spills, but since it's in grass it was no biggie. Then eventually he started riding on asphalt - and now he only rides the mx350. The 125 usually sits empty.

    Thanks for the upload. I bought a 24v 200 watt bike for my son and I was affraid, that it is too slow, but after your video I thin my 17 kg son can get 12-15 mph with it and it is enough. He has now a two stroke speedbike, but it is too fast! I modified it so he can give just 1/3 or max 1/2 throttle, but it has still too much top speed! He drive quads too, but they have four wheels. The 500 watt quad or the 50 cc fourstroke in second gear with the regulater throttle is fine! Maybe a 50 cc fourstroke bike would be fine too.

    • @jeremywalter5026
      @jeremywalter5026  Před rokem

      Yeah - that's about accurate. All of them only have around a 30 min run time, and it definitely takes hours to recharge (not sure exact time... 4 hours sounds right). You could swap out the batteries, but it's a bit of a project to do. Usually our kids only ride for 15-25 minutes at a time on our property. If you have a big property and would be riding longer than than, you probably want to look at a gas powered dirtbike in my opinion. Hope that helps.

      It depends where you're shopping at. The 650 really varied in price depending on where I was looking it. It's definitely quicker than the 500, but overall their build is pretty much the same.

      @@jeremywalter5026 thanks, I went with the 500 because it dropped to $383 for a minute on Amazon while the 650 was running $600. I hope she likes it, she hadn’t asked for a specific model and had ridden both a 350 and a 650 at a friends house.

    Hello there, I would like you to tell me the height of the kids in the video instead of the age

      Good call. 12 year old is around 5'2", 9 year old is 4'5", 7 year old is around 4'1" ... and honestly no idea on the 3 year old. He's big for his age. However, I'm around 6'1" or 6'2" and I can ride the 500 and 650's. It's a little crammed, but I fit, ha.

    Do you think my 8 year old son can handle the mx500 I was thinking the mx350 was to small

    • @jeremywalter5026
      @jeremywalter5026  Před 2 lety +1

      I would think so, but I guess it depends on his size and overall coordination. Our 7 year old handles it like a champ.
